I have AT&T for my work cell (iPhone), and Verizon for my personal cell (crack berry). What can I say - AT&T cell reception sucks. I can't get a decent signal in my house unless I stand in the doorway to the bathroom...yeah makes for a great echo during those work conf. calls.

Having used both for years, AT&T sucks...but their service at this store has always been friendly and helpful.

I dealt with a Frank R @ this location. I wanted the cheapest iphone plan they had available w/o texts. As he was ringing me up he told me I could get a text message plan free with a 10% off student discount. So naturally I said "ok sign me up!" Well after receiving my first bill I see he did not sign my up but he did make sure to change me for a texting plan anyway. I went through a whole back and forth with 611 about this and apparently he was supposed to have me fill out a student discount form. All he was trying to do was add more on my bill. Obviously I am not happy about this at all. I'm a student and $10 more than I wanted on my bill is $10 too much.
Train you employees AT&T to do right by your customers! I should have gone with Verizon. No one seems to ever have issues there...

    41.

Let me be clear here.  That 1 star is for the manager or management team of this location only!  Nothing more, nothing less.

I went to this location last night at 6:30pm to pick up a new sim card for my cell phone.  It's a few blocks from my place, so it's kind of convenient.  That said, it was my first time at this location.

I walked in and there were no less than 10 people standing as if they were waiting for something.  And then I saw the podium with the sign-in sheet and realized what people were waiting for.  It was 6:30 in the evening and the last name that was crossed off had arrived at 5:45.  So there were people waiting that had been there for 45 minutes.  Since I was already there and needed a new sim card, I decided to stick it out.  I signed my name and put down the time I arrived...6:26pm.

Long story short, the total wait time to get a sim card was 41 minutes.  Yup, I said 41 minutes.  In those 41 minutes I was able to see and observe everything...

Retail space: It's clean and organized.  All shelves are stocked with current accessories and all cell phones have current information tear sheets.  It could definitely use some seats for people to sit while they wait their 41 minutes.

Employees: There were 4 guys working when I was there (yes, even with 4  there was a 41 minute wait).  They were all nicely dressed, well spoken and all seemed to know their product and contract system pretty well.  They never seemed rushed and they gave 100% of their attention to each and every customer...even the annoying ones.  I mean, it's hard to project your frustration to any one of these guys regarding the wait...they do an admirable job at customer service.

Sign in and wait system: Completely archaic.  I mean, I understand that each customer that comes in there, unless they're buying an accessory, is going to take some time to be dealt with.  But Apple stores have the same problem.  That's why they have an appointment/ reservation system.  It works.  This system is not only completely ludicrous it wastes time and as most people understand, time is money.

Once I got to my AT&T advisor and told him what I needed, I was out in 5 minutes flat.  During my conversation with him I learned the slow time at that location is 11am to 3pm.  He also mentioned that if he was manager he'd schedule more people during the rush hour...as opposed to the middle of the day.

    Yeah, ya think?

A wait of 41 minutes is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned.  It should be unacceptable to the manager(s) as well.

    Dear AT&T,

While I love my iPhone, you are making me seriously consider other options.  The service we received in this store on our last visit was appalling.

My husband and I stopped here on our way to pick up our daughter after work.  We walked in at about quarter after 3.  There were a few people milling around and a few salespeople helping folks at the counter.  We wound our way to the very back of the store, to finally find the iPhone 4 display.  You'd think it would have a prominent display position, but alas, these guys are NOT marketing geniuses, thus the rear positioning.  There were spots for 2 iPhones, but only 1 was on display.  Ok, well, maybe...I don't know.  I can't make up any excuses for these guys.  Another minus on marketing.  And we haven't even spoken to anyone yet.

So, we look around for someone to help us.  As we approach a gentleman walking out from behind the counter, he asks if we've signed in.  Oh, gee.  There's a sign in sheet.  Great.  So I walk over and sign my name onto the sheet.  Bam!  My name is called.  Wow.  Now why couldn't you just help us in the first place?

So we tell the Miquel Enriquez behind the counter we are want to change our plan, and go ahead and take care of all of that pretty quickly.  Now on to the main event.  We want to get 2 iPhone 4's, one for each of us.  We've been a loyal Apple family for many years, and of course we're excited to finally upgrade our phones.  So here's what happened:

1)There aren't any in stock, we're going to have to order them in two separate purchases.  "The system won't let me do it any other way."  Hmmmm....are multiple item transactions forbidden?  Really?  And we were not allowed to use our Debit Card for the purchase.  We were told we HAD to use a CREDIT CARD.  Hmmm...shady?  Yes.  But we agree, since we do want the phones.
    2) Could you enter in your address and make sure all the information is correct?  Well, since my husband typed in the shipping address, yes, it was correct.  So was all the other information on the screen.
    3) It's Mr. Brandy, right?  NO, that Mr. Brady, like the Brady bunch, or the football player.  B-R-A-D-Y.  Could he get that right?  Nope.  After spelling it, and already being in our account to order, somehow, this idiot still spelled our last name wrong.  How do you even do that?!
    4) Let's charge your card for the first one.  By the way, you have to pay taxes on the full value of the phone, not what you're paying for it.  Hmmm, ok.  I'm sure there's some law somewhere to support that.  I think...
5)Let's order the second one now.  Can I see your credit card again for the second charge?  Here's your receipt.  Hey wait.  That's not right.  The shipping address is incomplete - no suite number!

So right now the score is one incomplete shipping address, one incorrect shipping name and two charges to our credit card.

So what do we do, can you fix the shipping addresses?  We work in a huge office building, it won't get to us like this.  Their answer:  The only way to fix it is to void the transactions and ring them up all over again and charge your card two more times.  WHOA!  Wait a minute!  We already have 2 pending charges on our card.  For almost $600!!  And those charges will stay on there for another 8 days if you void them (That's per our CC Company, btw).
Can't you just change the addresses in your system?  Or call your corporate office and have them fix it?  Their answer:  Our corporate office doesn't have access to our system.  They can't fix it.  This is the only thing we can do.
So, being way more than a little peeved at the thought of $1200 in pending charges appearing on our credit card for the next week while we wait for the dust to settle, we ask for the manager.  Enter Alex Romo, who repeats what idiot who can't spell or copy and paste properly said.  They did try calling the corporate office, but "we got the same answer".  Yeah, that's great.  And the pending charges can't be bounced back to AT&T until they clear in 8 days.  So we're stuck with the extra charges.  So what do they ask?  "So do you still want the phones?"

At this point we've been in the store for over an hour.  What should have taken 15-20 minutes has taken us about an hour and 30 minutes.  Alex then tells us he gets mail with the wrong address or name all the time, and we shouldn't worry about it.  Wow.  Really?!  I'm not taking chances like that with 2 new phones worth about $600 a piece.  We explain the building and mail room situation to him AGAIN, and he says, "So do you still want the phones?"  NOPE.  Please void.  But they could not give us proof of void either.  They hand-wrote void on the receipts.

    Total Time: 2 Hours
    Total Satisfaction: Zero
    Total Phones Purchased: Zero

    Sincerely,

    One PO'd Customer

I went looking for a Uverse demo and the one available was locked such that the remote wouldn't work. I had to wait 20 minutes for a sales rep to get the demo to work and had absolutely zero information about it.  I don't think many people go here for Uverse.  If you are looking for knowlegable staff up to speed on Uverse go elsewhere.  That said, the staff was fairly pleasant and easy going - most likely due to the lack of information they have to worry about storing in their brains.
