Came in here for a new modem (home wireless network). It was crowded on a Saturday night, but I received excellent customer service. The guys even offered to test my modem before dishing-out $100 for a new one. They had what I needed and I was on my way home.

I have been coming to this store for nearly 4 years! I have not had a problem ever, i have seen staff come and go. They are organized and orderly. Shout outs to Z and Ashley two reps who have helped me multiple times and has always kept me coming back. Also to the cute manager ... so cute it distracts me from looking at his name tag(hehe) he wears the ray ban glasses and has facial scruff i really want to say his name is Edwardo, he looks like he belongs on an at&t commercial.
overall this store is most deffs a decent retail store.

Ask Hamid to put your screen protector on, trust me, he's the best. And don't forget to say hi to Bob (the manager) because he will say hello to you and ensure they're giving you what you want. Yes, what you really, really want.

Fair amount of staff, but have found that Romaine has by far been the best at helping out in ages... I've had several issues and he does what he can. Not a 5th star cuz the goofy stupidity that is AT&T.
But do see Romaine for you new or updated phones and you'll be in good shape. -

so since i lost my iphone awhile back and needed a new one badly, i decided to call this branch ahead of time since I don't live near the area. I spoke to the "manager" and asked him if i can use a family member's upgrade for my phone (since we we're all in the same plan)., so i dont have to pay the full retail price for another iphone. he said "yeah definitely just come into our branch" (i even had him check the account over the phone before i drive there, so i don't waste my time driving to this location)
right when i get there i told him i had called and wanted to do the upgrade. as soon as he checked the account, he walked away and told me another employee was gonna help me. SOOOO of course this other employee had no idea what he was talking about and wanted to charge me almost 400 for the phone. so i told him to double check with the manager and of course the coward denied what he told me over the phone. At this point the "manager" was avoiding eye contact with me and told his employee to tell me he didn't guarantee anything over the phone..
I ended up going to a different at&t location two days later and told them my experience with this branch. everyone in that AT&T branch said the manager coudl've charged me the upgrade price instead of the full price if he wanted to, but since he wanted to make money, he was trying to charge me the full retail price instead. -.-

I love this place, I get to pay my bill in this little machine thingy, so I don't have to talk to one of their 20 sales people they have stocked up doing nothing. So the stars basically go straight to how cool the "pay your bill" machine is. Service/employees here are just annoying and trying to suck the blood out of your so they can make their commission or whatever it is they get for selling their service or phones. I just like to get in and out of there without being smoother by a salesman. Don't get me wrong they're friendly, but I believe they have to be friendly because 1) They have nothing else to do. 2) They want to sell you their service for commission. When these two things come together, it's just a disaster.
REVIEW IS BASED STRICTLY ON HOW COOL THE AUTOMATED "PAY YOUR BILL" MACHINE THAT THEY GOT HIDDEN IN THE BACK. -

I had the best customer service experience of my life today. I went in to get a number switched over from a blackberry to an IPhone and Ronnell was extremely helpful (I think that was his name...something with an R. Sorry dude!) I was in and out of the store in less than ten minutes and he shook my hand in the end and I had the greatest feeling. I spent way less time there than I thought I was going too. Thanks Ronnell! A+

Tall white dude who worked Saturday afternoon on 9/25/10 - you're a jackass.
I finally decided to switch from my beloved BB to an iPhone4. I specifically told you not to mess with my data plan - my plan in general. You assured me you wouldn't - you'd only transfer service to the new phone.
You fucked with my plan and removed my unlimited texts messages without telling me.

Even when the store was busy everone in this store was helpful. As soon as i walked in I was promptly greeted and told I'd be helped as soon as someone was available to do so.
I was helped by an associate named Kevin, who I see is mentioned several times in other people's reviews and for good reason. He was very helpful and he answered all my questions and explained everything very well. He walked me through the process of getting me setup with a new iPhone and I would definitely go back to this store again for my future phone upgrades. -

The team here is great! All of the sales people seemed knowledgeable and not pushy. I came into the store to upgrade my phone to a iPhone 4 and I was helped by Ronnell Torres. While we were there, Ronnell looked at my family's account (7 phone lines) and helped consolidate our bill by merging them into once account. He saved us $300.00 per month!
I definitely recommend this store! Ask for Ronnell Torres.
Customer: 10+ (Thanks to Ronnell)
Phone: 5+ AT&T's selection of cell phones is second to none. They offer a wide selection of very low priced and free phones so that no one's budget needs are stretched to get a great device. -

After years of waiting, I finally decided to upgrade my old iPhone 3G to the new iPhone 4. After its release, I would periodically call this store to see if they had a 16GB version available. As you can imagine, this took a while due to the insane demand.
So about a week ago, I decided to stop by and finally pick one up as an early birthday present to myself. The employee who helped me (Mari) was very friendly and patient with me as I went over plans and options for my new phone. She was also awesome enough to suggest that I enroll in my employer's discount program (something which I wasn't even aware existed). All in all, I spent less than 30 minutes in the store, which was perfect since I was in a rush to get back to work. Simply awesome.
As for the phone, I found that going from the 3G to the 4 was like night and day. It's SO much faster, and all of my newer apps & games work as intended (no more glitches or slow-downs).
Overall, I was very impressed with my experience here, and I would recommend this store to other Yelpers without hesitation. -

REVIEW IS FOR PAYING A LANDLINE BILL:
I had a good experience here. Although I do not have AT&T, they assisted me in paying my mother's landline. The only thing is that I had to have either a debit or credit card, which I wanted to use anyways but what if I had cash? As I walked in the girl approached me and I asked her if I could pay the bill, she had another employee take me to a register to pay the bill. He made small talk about my unique name at the crowded registers. Everything happened flawlessly but he did mention that he waved a $5 in person bill paying fee. He also told me that next time I could pay the bill at the electronic kiosk using the 3 digit code at the end of the phone number on my receipt. He was informative, fast and nice. I probably won't ever pay at an actual store ever again but I'm grateful that my experience was good and it wasn't busy. -

The store itself is everything you'd expect from a cell-phone service store - pretty typical fare. Lines occasionally, typical pricing, etc. etc. HOWEVER, there is one reason and one reason alone that I gave this store a good rating. That reason is named Kevin, and Kevin is the world's best AT&T associate.
Kevin tells it like it is, he isn't messing around. Nobody can do that job better than him. You casually mention you want an iphone 4 and BOOM - kevin's got an iphone in your hand. Before your obviously overmatched brain can even process what's going on next he's filling out all that banal paperwork like some half-asian son of flash. Somebody give that man a promotion, he's earned it. I hope everyone can come on out to Milpitas and learn from the gospel according to Kevin; I guarantee you won't be disappointed. -

This review is specially for Steven. Great Cust Serv!!
The story (tadah!!):
I am an existing AT&T customer with a regular cell phone. On the side, I wished to order a Go Phone. So to save a trip to any store (and specially with bad experiences in some) I called the online number to order my new phone.
After holding the line for 15 mins, someone came and after another 45 mins (!!) I was able to get what I wanted... a new phone with a new sim. but when it finally arrived in mail, I saw that they had by mistake put my existing cell number on the new sim as well.
So I called again and this time someone else apologized for the mistake and sent me a different sim. But the first sim that came had a $15 airtime on it, which was missing on the 2nd sim they sent.
Resolution:
So I went into this store having good reviews on Yelp, and they deserved it. Steven was patient and understanding and professional. He made a long call, explained it to multiple people on the other side multiple times (and I thought only we had issues!) and finally in some time I walked out with my new sim activated with the $15 on it. problem solved.
Way to go guys... you are now my first stop for all ATT issues. no more 1-800-ATT-whatever -

The contract for my husband's number was up on Saturday so I went to McCarthy Ranch's AT&T store to buy him an iPhone and upgrade my plan to a family share plan.
Upon arrival Kristine C. greeted me and asked how she could help. I told her what I wanted/needed. She explained everything to me and was all around great. Awesome customer service and very informative.
Reception sucks but it's a good thing I barely talk on the phone. It also sucks that I lost my rollover minutes due to switching phone plans. There goes 700+ minutes that I could've used :/ but this review isn't about the company, reception or plans... it is for the store and customer service I received. 5 stars for Kristine C and thanks for making everything painless, easy and pleasant! :)
FYI - iPhone owners
AT&T store sells the screen protectors for $9.99 and it's for 3 not 2 like the Apple stores. Apple store sells 2 for $15.99 which is a total jip! -

AWESOME customer service and fun and cool attitudes. The one I normally go to is on Capitol and they're just sort of rude. Well not quite rude, but not friendly either! If you live in the area, or are just shopping at McCarthy like I am, def come here!! They open the door for you, are super helpful, like, I just can't say enough great things about this place!

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I came in this morning at 11:00, right when they first opened and I was quickly greeted by RAJ. He ended up helping me with my whole transaction. I just came in to transfer my cousin's line..which was a prepaid customer into my family line so I can swapped my black iphone with him to get a new white one. I tried going to the At&t location on Capitol, but they just wasted an hr of my time and nothing got done..they even tried to convince us to change his number. Well, when I came here today, Raj was able to do everything within 35 minsand we were good to go.We also didn't even have to get a new number and he was able to keep the old number. On top of that, he even hooked us up with some accessories... he gave us a free ZAGG full body shield( one of the top..lifetime guarantee =]) and he also ask some girl to put it on both phones for us and she did a superb job with it..which I did not expect at all. I've never had such a smooth transaction at any other location before. So I would definitely recommend this place, especially Raj. He really does his best to help you and he doesn't really pressure you in getting stuff you don't need. -

I went here to replace the SIM card on my iPhone because that little card was screwing me up. It would drop my calls, lock up on the AT&T network and do other funky stuff. I would give it a four star, but the service wasn't extensive, it was elementary issue... they accomplished it, so it is A-OK.
My touch screen was becoming a punch screen.
But it was quick, easy and painless. They have a list so it's like getting into a club when it's busy. But the guy was friendly and it took less than five minutes.
And speaking of which, this is the second time I've seen a hot boy at AT&T stores... shopping should turn you on. Yeah, that's right. AT&T: servicing over 1200 countries and in my dirty little mind. LOL! -

I wish I knew the young lady's name who listened to my problem, and promptly told me where I went wrong and how she couldn't help me. If I did know it, I would tell her to get off her high horse.
I am an AT&T customer who got screwed by AT&T by having my service wrongly cut (I wanted to cancel my UPGRADE, not my entire F-ing plan). I was frustrated with the 611 customer service line already (since they were the ones who made the entire mess, and didn't quite fix it).
I don't need to be told that I shouldn't have cancelled my pre-order and I should have just waited for it to arrive.
I shouldn't have been told that I would have to take my device back to Fry's and do a return. It's not Fry's fault that AT&T f-ed up my account. That's why I'm trying to go to the AT&T store; to get the duplicate accounts fixed. I'm one person; I don't need two cellphone lines.
I shouldn't have been told that the AT&T associates cannot call customer service for me, therefore I would have to call myself, but if I would like, I could call from the store. Hello? Haven't you heard that I've tried that and am super-frustrated? Can't you tell that I'm on the verge of tears from frustration and you still tell me that I can call 611 myself? Thank you for stating the obvious.
I went to this location for help with an AT&T problem. Instead, I was told the obvious and reprimanded for not being patient enough to wait for my backorder to arrive (however long that would take).
Shame on this location for not caring about customer service. From now on, even if I'm not working, I'll still drive all the way to the Palo Alto location because at least there, they have a clue. -

This AT&T store is horrible. Not only do these people trick you into buying into their service, they lie about the "deals." Don't be fooled like we did. Everything may sound so great then and there, but once you get your first bill, you'll know they messed up and fooled you.
All our familiy needed was a basic 700 minute family plan that included unlimited text messaging and data service for the two iphones. For the other two lines, we got blackjacks. We were unsure about getting the blackjacks because it was $150 before rebate. Kristine, the associate who helped us, said that with purchasing the data plan for ONE MONTH, you'll receive your rebate for $100 per phone. That sounded like a deal. Internet for two lines for one month on those phones and get $200 rebate! ( That sounded like a deal the way she was talking about it)
Not only did we NOT get the rebate in time, but she didn't even add a data plan to one of the lines. If i had not called, we wouldn't have known and we would have not received that rebate.
Next, she didn't even add the unlimited messaging plan! We were charged for every text message! I called in a few days after we started the plan to change it. What if i hadn't called? We'd be charged hundreds more.
Next, she said that we would get an employee discount for our lines because of where my mom works. She said that her company gets a big discount off of the base plan, data plan, and the unlimited text messaging plan. WRONG AGAIN! We only get it off on the base plan. WHY SAY SOMETHING THAT ISN'T TRUE!
It's been over a month and now it's too late to switch back over to Verizon. If I were you, stick with Verizon. Though you may think that it's expensive, you're actually saving more money by not switching over to AT&T.
This store gets 1 star for giving my mom a free case but that's the LEAST they could have done. -
Review from Wen C.
iPhone or Droid? This was the big debate for me and would be the determining factor if I was going to stay loyal with my long time provider AT&T.
I have been wanting the iPhone 3gs for a long time and finally ordered one online. Then I started having cold feet. In the whole process I was hearing all about the new DROID and how it was the lastest "iPhone Killa" After some long debate and research I decided to go with the new Android phone.
Believe me, the 3GS was hard to let go of. I made my way to the AT&T store in McCarthy Ranch to return my phone and cancel my 2 year obligation.
I have never experienced such great customer service from a phone retailer before. Kristine was so friendly, personable and helpful. Returning the iPhone was a little tricky but she was able to do everything for me. She didn't try to talk me out of canceling my plan and even wanted to know about the new Droid.
Sadly, I am going to miss the great customer service from AT&T. Purchasing the new DROID on Overstock has been absolute hell. They cut off my service even before having my new phone get shipped to me. I will be phone-less for 4 days! Just ridiculous, if I could rate Overstock on here they would get a very unpleasant review. -

Workers here are great here with service and sales. I went here with my parents last month when they wanted to upgrade their phones and besides a setup issue.. everything went smooth.
Also came back here for an issue with my moms phone and got it fixed as soon as we were called on the list.
Have had a really great experience here.. I recommend going here if anyone needs help or want to buy a phone from AT&T. -

He's been here to help me and I will be back all the time....

No hassle, no BS, just a clean business transaction. Sometimes these things can be soooo painful. I think it was last time I went through it at a mall kiosk it just sucked. -

Shoutout to Jenny Pham, who courteously greeted us and helped us out most graciously and patiently. Not only did she answer our questions with all the knowledge she's accumulated over 6+ years of being in the field, she provided us with links to free ringtones and gave us an extra screen protector they had lying around in the back room for the phone. You know how some representatives can be initially deceptively nice but once you ask them beyond a certain number of questions or take longer than usual, they go into bitch mode? Not Jenny. This girl has so much patience and tolerance, and I commend her for that and her ability to go above and beyond to ensure that AT&T customers receive nothing but the best customer service and plan, including additional discounts.

I did my research before I purchase something that will take an arm and a leg to pay for and I finally decided to upgrade to an iPhone. I did some heavy research pros and cons and I had my paperwork all printed out and ready to port my number and get the rates and features that I wanted. I was told at the Saratoga store that the family plan I wanted wasn't available and I couldn't get unlimited family text with the lowest plan. Wrong wrong wrong...I got it at the McCarthy Ranch Store just fine.
My plan was the $59.99 family plan, $30 unlimited family text and of course the unavoidable data plan for my new toy. I got help not by one but three associates that took about two an half hours to do. Its almost like buying a car but you can put this toy in your pocket.
Breakdown of the Sales people that I dealt with:
Adam, he one of the two manager I have learned when calling in about a billing issue. He is good salesperson and knows what he is doing. If you just want to cut all the BS just ask for him. No excuses just business.
Arthur, he is the best out of the three I dealt with. He is well knowledge about almost all the phones and AT&T services. He is quick and will get you in and out of there with a snap. Even though it wasn't his sale he helped to make sure it would go through and took care of us when we were in the store and as well as over the phone. He has a good memory and that makes his customer service skills beyond par.
Omar, he was our sales guy--he is a newbie so be patience with him. He tries his hardest to help you out and the whole time he was honest about everything he knew and didn't know. I appreciate that but I am about business so he needs to get up to par.
My cell phone experience has been a mix but the one advice that I can give all you mobile seeker for new services, to transfer, etc. etc. is to do your homework, come in with print out of what you want (they will tell you that they don't have that service or they don't offer it anymore---lies lies lies to make the sale), and if you are porting your number to have the front page of your bill as well. It will save you so much time. Also, go when you have time to kill, if you are impatience or in a rush go other time. As for this AT&T Store it had what I needed but could have done better with service and keeping with their word. It is when a salesperson that can't keep his word is when I question the ethics of the store...so be aware.
FREE ADVICE: Always ask if you can get your activation fee waived because you might get lucky and the manager will give you a break. -

I haven't upgraded devices through an AT&T store for years because I've been doing it through third-party websites. However, I guess the day came where I needed to go into a store again to get the iPhone. I went to Kevin for help and he isn't the typical pushy salesman, which I really appreciate. He was very quick with setting me up with an iPhone 4. Service was great!

I called this store and Eric was the one who picked up and he said he has about a couple left and could hold on to one for me. so i said yah and when i went to the store i was greeted right when i entered the door and was helped right away. i had to wait for Eric for couple a mins, but he was taking his lunch break, so i understand but he still came out less then 2mins and helped me out and i was on my way home in no time.

Thank you Istephanie for your wisdom, honesty, and delivery of my IPhone!
After losing my cheap "James Bond" cell phone in LA last weekend, it was time to shop and get my hands on a new ass kicking phone. Skip the free phones! It's been over five years since I spoiled myself. That's a very long wait for someone that hasn't own a Razor, a flip phone, a blackberry, nor a Skittle bit size colorful blinky phone! It was time to do some "break the piggy bank" spending.
Well knowledable in the field and industry, Istephanie had guided my "not-so-tech-savvy" ass to the latest and greatest in cell phones and PDA's. I shared with her my needs and ideas, and in return she shown me actual phones that would possibly fit my requirements. We spent about a half hour going over the high end phones and the services. After a process of eliminations and demonstrations, she volunteered to show me her personal phone so I could preview a potential winnerl. In the end, I purchased the Apple IPhone. This wasn't my first choice. It made sense after all the walk throughs of the phone's features. Just like my sister said, "You want a fun phone! Not a phone that will bring work home!" She was right. I really need a multimedia smart phone that would stand up to my lifestyle and technology needs. No bells or whistles - just straight to the point technology in the palm of my hands.
This store is very well stocked with all their demo phones on display. It's a convenient and clean location that I can easily browse because of its simplistic organization: PDA's on one side, free phones on the other, and the smart phones on its own display booth. This made my shopping and searching comfortable. The staff was somewhat helpful. At first visit, I was greeted and helped by Istephanie. On my second visit, I felt ignored and almost left. Istephanie wasn't working that day so I decided to come back the next day to ensure she get this commission.
Remember kids, its all about customer service in the end. Who's going to help you the best way before and after the sale.
I definitely broke the bank here! IPhone + srvice plan + accessories = CHA-CHING!!! -

I've been an existing AT&T customer for a while now, and the service really sucks. If Apple didn't have the iPhone, I would've probably gone with Verizon or TMobile. That being said, I've had really great customer service at this specific store. I've been to the store a couple times and I've been helped by Kevin almost every time. He doesn't really bullshit you and just tells you as it is. He tries to make sure your experience is a good one and that you are in and out of the store in a respectable time. Both my brother and I recently upgraded to Iphone 3gs and it literally took us less than 15 minutes to have everything setup. I highly recommend Kevin if you are to go to this store.

I had some problems with a phone that I purchased for my mother. It was a model that has been know to have battery issues. I visited another AT&T store in Vallejo to try and trade for a different phone. They were no help at all. Everything out of their mouths were we can't help you. I came to this location and they apologized of the incompetence of the people at the other store. Did the exchange for a different phone no questions asked. AT&T is a pain to deal with but I was happy with the amount of effort these guys put in to resolve my issue.

Came over during my lunch time to purchase a power cable for my blackberry bold. I was told to take a ticket or write my name in a book. Basically the store didnt have enough staff to assist my simple request. What a waist of time. I purchased the cable over the internet. Interesting the store had sales clerks in the back office. I wont go here every again and if I do it wont be between my lunch hour. So expect to wait a long time for assistance. They should have a person who only works the cash machine for quick purchases.
