Cant speak on the reviews I'm just an engineer putting in my work for Big Daddy.

My iPhone works great, except those times I'm having radio issues but that is an apple thing, and the coverage is no different than its competitors.

My only recommendation is to bring back the unlimited data plan that was there before.

Don't do it, they are horrible and uncompromising.  If you are looking for a decent carrier might I suggest Credo.  They will be my next provider.

I know this is NOT the right place to post this, but At&T's service for installing UVERSE for me has been HORRIBLE!

First, they never turned my UVERSE on when it was supposed to be turned on.  They sent a tech to my house claiming that the problem was on my end and the tech told me UVERSE was not turned on!  Incredible.

Second, my house is too far from their base station for me to have 12 mb/s which they promised.  So now I have to have 6 mb/s.

Third, they have not set up my UVERSE account properly so I can NOT send email using ATT's SMTP servers.

Fourth, when i reached tier two technical support ATT could NOT locate my UVERSE account using my telephone number which means I am NOT able to send email using their SMTP servers.

This is just ridiculous.  Just about EVERYTHING that could go wrong with this installation when wrong.  EVERYTHING!

Excellent service ATT!  You'll are great!

    Gavin Frederick

btw - Now I am being told that I can NOT send email using their SMTP server through uverse even though it worked just fine with DSL.

I STAYED with ATT to keep my phone number, but i SHOULD have switched to COMCAST.

SMTP problem resolved - after 2.5 hours and $49 to set up a case with Connection support, my problem has been resolved.  What happened is that I had to VERIFY all of my other email addresses with my ATT email address on the web - WHERE ON THIS FACT SHEET FOR USING POP EMAIL IS A USER INFORMED OF THIS -

There's your one star review, AT&T. If I could, I'd give you negative stars. I'm just that unhappy with the relationship we had.

I bought an iPhone, which in the United States means you're on AT&T. How that isn't an illegal monopoly, I don't know. Anyway, I paid you $400 for the phone and three months later, I moved out of the US. Roaming would have cost me thousands, so I terminated my contract and paid you $165 for the "early termination fee". And yet, you won't unlock my phone. What's that all about?

A year later, I made the mistake of upgrading my iPhone. Tip: don't do this. Why? Because even though I had paid someone to unlock the phone, the upgrade restored it to the sim-locked state. Which meant that for a month until the hackers found a jailbreak for 4.2.1, I couldn't use my phone in the UK.

Argh, I'm just so damn frustrated with you guys. Why are you able to force me to use you, even though I paid hundreds for the device? What is that all about? Trust me, when the class action suit comes along, I'm signing on.

I was reading thorough some of the reviews before I wrote this and unlike a lot of the people on here, I have actually always had a good experience with AT&T. I have had phone service with them for about four years and every time that I have had a problem, they have always been very courteous and helpful and on a few occasions, pointed out ways that I could save even more money. In fact, their customer service has been so good (as opposed to Comcast) that when I had the chance to sign up for their  U-Verse television service, I jumped all over it and I love that too. I initially had some questions about my first U-Verse bill and I called them and they were just as good as they always are and they even pointed out that since I had wireless and television service, there was another discount that I was entitled to.

When dealing with customer service reps at any company, not just this one, I have found that if you are nice to them, they will usually go the extra mile in trying to help you, because I suspect they are getting called names and being screamed at all day,LOL. Being a customer service rep is a tough gig in any business I think.

This so-called cell phone company should burn to the ground. There is absolutely ZERO reason to get AT&T. The iPhone is an awesome device but it SO not worth the painful experience of using AT&T's sorry excuse for a service. You WILL have MANY dropped calls in San Francisco or NYC. You WILL have TERRIBLE reception in most areas that aren't the South (since that's where they're headquartered).

In my experiences in the Bay Area, AT&T service is awful. They promote this awesome 3G network yet half the time I was switching to EDGE. My phone calls dropped ALL the time.

And most recently, my girlfriend's cell phone randomly loses the ability to receive calls and texts. I know it isn't an issue with my phone, because she also can't get calls from my landline (Verizon) or from Skype. Basically, she goes dark. And there have been many a conflict where she though I was ignoring her. So definitely don't get AT&T if you either are in a relationship or you deal with mission-critical stuff. Because when your co-workers need you to call to finalize some big deal, they probably wont' receive your call.

Stay far far away from AT&T. I would rather be forced to smoke ten packs of cigarettes (Marlboro Reds) each day for the rest of my life than be forced to use AT&T. They deserve nothing more than bankruptcy and if their headquarters were to suddenly be sucked into the Earth by some sinkhole, I would drive down to Atlanta and dance upon the former grounds of this pathetic company.

Absolutely terrible.  They will charge you for services they don't deliver, send you broken phones and then replace them with other broken phones, and provide you with service that constantly drops call.

If you don't pay (including for the services and products they don't deliver), they will report you to a collections agency and then sue you.  You will never get past a customer service representative in an attempt to resolve a problem.

    Stay far away.

I had Verizon Wireless (great service, expensive prices, but this was many moons ago), then T-mobile (had horrible service in northern California), then stuck with at&t through their roller coaster identity crisis.

BILLS, BILLS, BILLS: My bill has been wrong maybe four times, with mysterious and erroneous charges (hey, why do I have a BlackBerry Data Plan when I don't own a BlackBerry? OR what the heck does TRP300 for $20 mean). I've called customer service each time, and customer reps have been outstanding with me - I explain my deal, ask them to remove or correct the charge, and they do so, no problem! The fact that I've been a long-time customer probably affects how seriously you're taken, but I'm pleased with how fast they correct issues. Mistakes happen; at&t is a HUGE company, with a myriad of legacy systems and a ton of customers!

LOCKED PHONES? When traveling overseas, I tend to use overseas service. I called customer service to unlock my phone so I could use foreign SIMs and they relented, after a few persistent calls. I'm pleased I can use my equipment elsewhere in the world (even when locked into at&t) where GSM networks are, unlike Verizon and Sprint (though both have partnerships/potential workarounds now).

SERVICE: Cell service is generally good. My phone isn't the most robust for calls, but I've noted other at&t customers with more "typical" phones who don't have any problems. I rarely get dropped calls unless I enter dead areas, and NO one (save maybe the odd Sprint user) gets good service in those areas.

the worst customer service in the world.

    Start with this:

Art Novado - had me on hold for 15 minutes then told me he was going to call me back on my landline which I had to un-forward from my cell so he could call me back. Then he called me back on my cell phone number.  When I didn't get the call, because I have no cell service where I live, his message was to call him back on 611.

Jose Fernandez - too stupid to even find the account

Cliff Saunders - gave him my cell phone number.  Couldn't find my information.  I suggest you give your customer service morons a pencil so they can write down the information they need to access the account.  I don't need anyone whistling in my ear while they try to figure out how to fix the problem.  I listened to him read the manual to himself out loud.  Refused to give me tech support.  Then after 10 minutes he asked me what the problem was. AGAIN. Couldn't even speak English.

Katie Hayes  - Took 15 minutes to bring up the account because "the computer was running slow."  Asked me for my cell phone number 4 times.  Then she cleared out my messages - I was having trouble accessing my voicemail -  and I had to set up the voicemail all over again AND LOST ALL MY MESSAGES.

Ebony Presley:  AXED me what my phone number was again and what kind of phone I had. Put me on hold and after 15 minutes has still not come back.

EUGENE DUNN MANAGER:  Gave him my landline; did not call back. Cannot reach him.  going in circles.  This is ridiculous.  cannot set up my vm and my cellular data network is down now as well.

By the way, I don't owe any money.  Yet.  But I was on the phone for 2 hours and I lost 2 hours of billable time @ $150 per hour.  Is your time important?  WELL SO IS MINE.

If I could give them a negative star; I would. I called: because I had a $400.00 cell phone bill. Higher than any company I have ever used. I wanted my bill explained to me and to make a payment arrangement for last $45.00 of this ridiculous bill. Clarissa Kearns of AT&T put me on hold for 10 minutes, then another, 10 minutes. Finally I told her for $365.00 a month; AT&T should be able to talk to me. Kayla Lawson also put me on hold and said there was nothing; she could do about their expensive rates; because corporate sets the rate plans.

Worst of all I spoke with Miles Sisk who refuse to get on the phone; I could hear him in the background asking "what does she want?" I always made myself available to customers; I did not try and hide and screen the calls to see; if I felt like dealing with customers. Again I was on hold the whole time Miles Sisk was asking questions trying to decide; if he wanted to help me. After 15 minutes Miles got on the phone and told me he "did not know who the CEO of AT&T was; and it was not part of his job description to know his complete chain of command especially the CEO. As long as I come to work and do my job; I do not need to know who the CEO is." I told Miles that this was the kind of attitude that was fueling the recession bad customers service and employees who think; they should just clock in collect a paycheck without providing excellent customer service, knowing their companies mission statement, and knowing their complete chain of command and the kind  vision that chain of command has for the company.

Miles made me so mad I got chest pains and had a few choice words for him; I can not repeat in this review. I told Miles that somewhere in the unemployment line there is someone that wants to do his job who has a better attitude and will work for probably less money because they are greatful to have a job. Miles did not seem to care about that either. Miles then told me to write whoever I wanted; and send any certified letters I wanted to the CEO but he refused to tell me the CEO name. He claimed he did not know who it was. Miles also refused to give a message to his immediately supervisor Angel Davenson.

I was going to cancel my phone service. I spoke with Denise in the Cancelation Department. She apologized for Clarissa Kearns, Miles Sisk, and Kayla Lawson. Denise told me that she valued all of the AT&T Customers; because without the AT&T Customers she would not have a Job. Within in 5 minutes Denise had calmed me down and apologized for how I was treated. Denise said "rest assure this is an isolated incident and not all AT&T Employees act this way. It is my job to make sure that when others drop the ball: I pick the ball back up and keep our customers from leaving." Denise then transferred me to Anthony Deal who was also very polite and made the payment arrangement for the last $45.00. Because of Denise from the Cancelation and Retention Department and Anthony from the Billing and Payments Department I Give AT&T 5 Stars; because I had every intention of canceling the service; but they were so polite and helpful that I realized this had to be and isolated incident.

iPhone 3G S activation may take delay for 48 hour or 2 days, According to AppleInsider, Apple is now providing a warning message through iTunes to affected users, stating that their activation needs extra time to complete, and may take up to 48 hours to go through. The message states that an email will be sent to the customer's email address when activation is completed, apologizes for the inconvenience, and suggests the user try out some of the phone's features that don't require a cellular connection.

Once again, AT&T fails me.  And not just in that new school "FAIL" way, but in the original meaning of the word, total and absolute fail.

I am a glutton for punishment.

Okay - when i was an AT&T wireless subscriber the service was great. Then Cingular acquired AT&T wireless and service has went down hill. You have to do everything via their stupid website - often you get these weird error codes and are often unable to login or even pay your bill. The phone availability sucks... its normally two or three years behind the rest of the world. They've delayed 3g roll outs - i don't really care for their execuses on this but inevitably you always blame another vendor :-). Most customer service  calls appear to get transferred to call centers in Canada - which is nice - they  do speak north american english - but customer service  hours are limited to daytime hours - a downside to degloabalization. They also lock you into 2 - 1 year agreements to get any kind of discount. Unlock your phone - or buy an unlocked phone!

i dont have an at&t account, but i keep receiving a call from their claims department.  i'm a verizon subscriber and have been for the last year and a half.  i called at&t customer service and they informed that they cannot update their system and that i should call verizon to have the number blocked.  i haven't had at&t for over 8 years and my account was in good standing at the time i cancelled the service.  simply blocking the number doesn't remove my number from their stupid service.  STOP CALLING ME... can you hear me now?

its official... after 4 years as a dedicated patron...its over.  i would have stuck with suckular (thanks Suchie) but my mom didn't get service in her house.  after a month of standing by the mailbox, she had had enough.  i called often to check and see about ending my contract... i couldn't cancel early without spending a grip and i only had 3 weeks to go.
so i asked... can i cancel in the middle of the month? will i still pay the full month? they put me at ease and said all would be alright.
but surprise, its not...so now i have two phones and a ton of minutes, so call me. i can talk all day...

Even though they sold their network with the purchase of AT&T Wireless, I've found Cingular to have good GSM coverage in the western USA, where I travel most. Plus I've their quad-band Razr for easy roaming when I'm in Eurpoe. Still no signal at my cabin in Lake Tahoe however, where the local market is dominated by Nextel.

The only reason I have AT&T Wireless is because I have an iPhone.  Love the iPhone, HATE AT&T.  God help you if you have a billing problem with these jokers.  You'll be bounced around like a ping-pong ball.

I had a problem with a bill in November 2008.  Immediately, I was on the phone with AT&T to resolve it, and an hour later, I thought it was fixed.  In December, the bill was completely wrong, as if none of the remedies AT&T assured me were applied had never taken place.   Again, I spent more than an hour trying to get this problem fixed.

Today I opened up a bill from AT&T for $600 (I was expecting a $70 bill).  Again, it was as if I had never spent hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue.  Again, I was assured that my issue is fixed.

Is this starting to sound familiar?

If you want an iPhone (which I still love) either get a technical friend to break into it and use Verizon or just get a regular iPod and settle for a Verizon phone.  AT&T is horrible and almost as bad as Sprint.

If I could give ATT Wireless a NEGATIVE 10 stars, I would give them that rating.  I couldn't agree more with Martin B.  I cried while laughing at your post.  I just told off the "611" Customer Service rep because she refused to "give out" information as to where corporate headquarters is and what the name of the CEO/President's name is.  I tried explaining that I wasn't finding ANY information on the "Corporate Profile" on either ATT Wireless or the AT&T (landline) company's website which should list the names of all corporate officers, as well as, the address for corporate headquarters.  I want to send the president of AT&T a letter - as a customer, and a member of the general public, it is my right to have access to a PUBLIC ENTITY...one of which I pay $200.00 per month (or more) for services that I AM NOT OBTAINING - Just like Martin B said.  I get dropped calls - DAILY - about 5 DAILY or more depending how many people I call.  The iDEVICE is great - but I cannot call it an iPhone - because it does not work well as a phone.  It's GREAT for HD Videos, the retina display, the camera, I can watch movies with Netflix in HD on the stationary equipment at the gym...but I CANNOT MAKE A CALL.  Between the issues with Apple's iPhone 4 and the LACK of service I'm paying for with AT&T...it's a double disaster having both AT&T and the iPhone 4.  If Verizon Wireless could possibly work something out with Apple, I would pay a $5,000 cancellation fee to be a VZ Customer again....SIGH!  AT&T - I HATE YOU...I HATE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM, YOUR LACK OF CELL SERVICE, HIDDEN FEES, YOUR INCOMPETENT BILLING DEPARTMENT THAT OVERCHARGED ME 500.00....oh...the list goes on....

PS, Can anyone confirm if the president of ATT can be l located at the address listed  here in Atlanta?   Thanks for listening
