Review from Niall M.
Um, I have to take a star away and maybe it should be two. The young man who took care of me, from our conversation, had to have known that I have family in Ireland and would be wanting to call there. Trying to make a call there is when I found out that I needed an extra plan for that.
I had craved a smart phone for quite a while. I am not much of a phone talker but am a big computer user and the idea of having a fairly decent computer sitting in my pocket really appealed to me. So my phone was with ATT and so I went to this location just because it was near me.
Others have commented on long waits and I suppose that is a function of time of day. I got immediate attention from a very nice and, as it turned out, competent young Asian man whose name I wish I could remember. The thing is that he knew his stuff. One of the things that was on my mind was that we are planning a trip to Ireland this spring and when I raised that issue he had all the answers, never had to hem and haw. There was a slight issue when it came to a discount I was entitled to because of where I work. A name badge was not enough and I had to come back later with a pay stub. It helped that I had pretty much decided on what phone I wanted but I was impressed that he looked at my calling history and suggested the lowest cost call plan. The thing is he never pushed, just tried to match his product with what I needed and wanted. When we were done we were walked to the door. Honest. -

This store is the best in the area to work with. The Manager Charles over at this location just rocks. Every time I have had any issues, he and his team have been able to address.

My SBC dsl router burnt out in mid December.
The person on the SBC help line offered to send me one UPS, of course I couldn't wait, 3 or 4 days without my computer would have been worse withdrawals than quitting smoking
Anyway I went to this store with the model number of router I needed, they had one in stock at the same price as the one that I would have gotten through the mail.
10 minutes and I was out and on my way home, had my Internet back that day
This was during the Christmas season, friendly and efficient service -

Had to switch phone over to a 3G phone so it can continue to have service.
First time I went, it was SUPER crowded and had to wait awhile before any customer service rep paid attention to me. The service reps never had a clear answer of when a phone would be delivered, so I always had to call or make a trip out there to check before the offer for a free new 3G phone expired.
I would so rather take the extra 5 mins to drive over to the AT&T store in the Streets of Brentwood, because they were _way_ more attentive to their customers (and you never have to wait!). When they were out of stock of the specific phone I wanted, my person voluntarily called around to stores in the area to double-check the inventory, which was something the Lone Tree store did not do.
In conclusion, with the proximity of AT&T stores in the area, go to the newer one in the Streets of Brentwood. -

I've come here often during the past year or so. I hate coming here. In most cases, it will take FOREVER. And when I say forever, I mean FOREVER. And a day. Don't ever think about dropping in for a quick fix to your problem. 97% of the time, it ain't gonna happen.
Sometimes when I come in, the place is empty of customers but filled with employees. I used to wonder why the hell did they hire so many people if they were just going to stand around. Now I know. It's because it takes 1 employee an hour or more to help a single customer. It's not necessarily the employee's fault--I think it's more because of the whole ATT procedure and red tape.
One time I came in to exchange my new phone. It seems pretty simple when you do it online (which I've done before), but I wanted to see the phone in real life first so decided to do it in the store. Took over an hour. The woman who helped me was fabulous but still, over an hour!
This last string of visits was a nightmare. Came in to buy an iPhone. First time, sold out. Also wanted to sign up for a FAN account (a discount provided to employees of certain companies). We asked the dude whether my boyfriend's company qualified for the discount. The dude said, "Ask your HR dept." Really? You can't look it up for us? Is that just super shotty, lazy service or is the whole ATT setup so sloppy that even their own employees don't have access to this info? Either way, I left feeling a little like I was F-U'd.
Second time, went in to sign up for a FAN account again and to pre-order the iPhone. This time I knew for sure that my boyfriend's company qualified. iPhone pre-order went fine. But when it came to the FAN discount, we were told that since the account was under my name instead of my boyfriend's, we wouldn't be able to sign up for the discount. Ok, that was annoying considering my boyfriend and I shared 3 lines on the same account. But I could kind of understand that.
I then mentioned that I was self-employed and they said I could then sign up for a business account that would give me the same discounts. Cool. All I needed to provide was some business info.
So we left and came back the following week with my business info. Well, turns out we would NOT get any discount unless we had 5 lines on the business account. That's not what the first guy told us. We only have 3 lines so we wouldn't qualify. But we'd qualify for some other specials with a business account, so I decided to go ahead and transfer our lines over to a new business account.
Here's where the real nightmare began. The girl helping us started all the paperwork to transfer our account over to a business acct. Over an hour and a half later of phone calls to various ATT depts, she said to us, "Sorry, the dept we need just closed. You'll need to come back to finish this up."
F an egg.
So we come back again to get this finished up. I kid you not, it took TWO hours this time! The guy helping us probably made over 5 phone calls, each one telling him to call a different number--numbers that he had already called! Isn't it nice to know that it's not just customers who get this kind of runaround? 2 other people in the store tried to step in to help as well. But ATT's service depts are so unorganized that after 2 hours of waiting, the dude said to us, "Sorry, the dept we need just closed."
So now we've wasted close to 4 hours and still have not gotten this thing done. The dude helping us was sweating by now. I didn't blame him any of this--he clearly did everything he could to help us. It was ATT's fault. But he gave us a phone # and said we could call the number from home and they could help us. Really? Couldn't somebody have given us that number 4 hours ago?
So the next business day I called the # and was expecting another horrific experience. But lo and behold, the lady on the phone knew exactly what she was doing and it only took a few minutes. When I explained to her that the store people spent 4 hours trying to do this, she said, "oh, it just looks like they forgot to have you fill out this one particular form." Good to know. *sarcasm*
All right, so everything's all set up and ready to go, right? THINK AGAIN! That all happened about a week and a half ago.
Well, today I got a nice phone call from somebody at ATT. Turns out, that because we have the basic $15 data plan for both iPhones, we can't switch our accounts over to a business one unless we upgrade to a $25 data plan on each phone. Why did nobody tell us this before?? I would not have wasted 4+ hours trying to get our plan switched over if I knew this. That's 4+ hours of my life down the drain.
For this reason, I hate you ATT establishment. And no, I do not want to sign up for Uverse. -

Yesterday, I was constantly monitoring live blogs on the WWDC -- the Mac conference. Then all of a sudden, the dark clouds parted, and a bright beam of sunshine fell through:
THE 8G IPHONE I'VE BEEN WANTING FOR MONTHS NOW $99!
I instantly rushed to my home base AT&T store. The first thing I asked them: "Do you guys have the old iphone for $99?"
A bunch of associates laughed hysterically: "OLD IPHONE? Wow...just because a new one is coming out, it makes this one old?" I'm like, "Yeah...not to mention cheap!"
With that said, Keisha hooked me up with the new phone I've been waiting patiently for. She did everything from transfer my contacts, installing the spiffy pink cover and the protective film, to giving me the dirt as to what was going on with the iphones (apparently AT&T stores didn't know about the price drop until customers came in and asked for them, that the communication between AT&T and Apple was slim to none this time around.) I was in and out of there with my brand spanking new phone in no time. I swear, it felt like Christmas day, and Keisha was the Santa Claus that hooked me up with my new toy.
So yes people. If you've been waiting to get an iphone, this is the time! And no, I don't think the extra features on the new iphone that's coming out in a couple of weeks is worth the extra money. But that's my own opinion. -

I went to the store today to look at phones for an upgrade. I can't remember the workers' names that helped me. The "hostess" was a short tannish girl with a lot of dark brown and blond streaks. She was nice. She opened the door to us and greeted us as well. That was where the good experience ended. There was a caucasian guy who was kind of chubby and spiky hair. He helped us first. He had a bit of an attitude but I didn't think anything of it. We had to go but when we came back another guy helped us. He could've been the manager but all he kept telling me was he was the number one sales person. This guy was the one who bothered me the most. He was a light skinned african american guy who was chubbier than the first guy that helped us. I am in sales myself. With this information comes knowledge. I felt like I was working with a person who works on commission. The second I hear sales person I cringe. Some have a bad wrap but others who work on commission (ex: car salesman, mattress salesman, etc) can be a bit on the evil side to make their money. I am an african american woman and the thing I hate the most is when people of my own race talk to me in a slang "hey home girl" kind of way. That is not how I talk and if a person feels as if talking to me in this way is relating to me I become extremely offended and irritable. This is how I was treated by the sales guy. He said something about talking to me like we were having drinks and eating dinner in my backyard. I told him that I wanted a phone for my mother. As I was asking her if she wanted a touch screen or keyboard he interjected. He said that she shouldn't get an Android, she should get an iphone. My mother doesn't like either of those phones and they are too technology savvy for her anyway. He continued to interrupt as I tried to talk to my mother. He looked at me and put his hands up in a T form and said timeout. Normally after this I would have just walked out. This was incredibly rude. He might as well have told me to shut up. He continuously kept trying to force the iphone down our throats. It made me think that there is some kind of incentive for the sales associates to sale these phones. I told him that he was not listening to us. I explained to him that we did not want an iphone or an android. He kept explaining the difference and I asked him to stop talking because he was not listening. He had an attitude after this. He eventually tried to get us to go to a specific phone and I was at the end of my patience. I told him that I don't want a sales pitch and that I just wanted to let my mom look at phones. When did phone sales turn into this? I felt like we were being hassled and forced into something that we didn't want. Customer Service is just as important as closing the sale. I won't go to this store again. I'll be perfectly fine with making the drive to the pleasant hill store on monument blvd. They have the best customer service.
