Best. Venue. Ever.
Nothing this fun lasts forever though. I almost want to cry thinking about how much I miss you, asylum.
I'll take with me the memories, to be my sunshine after the rain... -
Review from El Keter B.
Springfield, MA
Springfield shot themselves in the foot when they closed down The Asylum.
It was the city's only worthwhile nightclub experience.
It was an after-hours spot.
And did they ever even serve alcohol here?
I don't think so.
Just music, dancing and kids enjoying themselves until the wee hours of the morning.
And what's safer, a downtown full of colorful raver kids in the middle of the night, or the deserted ass downtown we have now?
Way to go Springfield...Way to go. -
Review from Melissa M.
Salem, NH
I went to raves here almost every weekend for 3 years, but they closed back in 2004. This was a legendary spot in the New England rave scene. It held 2500 people and some of the best house djs spun there (Bad Boy Bill, Humpty Visson, dj Irene, the list goes on forever)! Insane sound system & huge dance floor. This place will be missed!!!

Review from Matt F.
Agawam, MA
Met a lot of people I still know to this day there.
Now, the city owns it and wants to put restaurants and the like there.
Somehow I don't see that as a high priority right now...if Sarno gets upset by Bud WIlliams in a few months, not only is the city totally dead...lol...but that project I bet gets shelved.
