As beach front property with a whole lotta Ka'anapali beach goin' on and fairly close to stores, resorts, shopping, etc. I'm a fan!  But don't expect  a lot of extras.

The full kitchen and laundry is great  - but there are no real knives, just table ones for peanut butter and jelly. Thankfully my brother was eager to be attacked by sharks and brought a huge dive knife.

We stayed in a two bedroom  - the master had a comfy king bed with it's own AC unit. The second had a old, warn out metal framed mattress that pinched me every time I got out. Don't expect anything wrong in the stairwell to be fixed (gum on the door knobs, food, misc. garbage, etc.) but do expect towel service at varied hours throughout the day. And they won't take no for an answer :o)

The grounds were great, the coffee shop so so but we never tried the restaurant. There is a workout room and Expedia Local Experts on site to book trips with. I splurged and threw down for a massage (I should have asked the price first) but had a great one in the tent by the beach. Only problem - Tuesday morning is landscape maintenance day.

All in all,  a great place for the money and you can save by going to the Star Market across the way and eat Fruit Loops for breakfast. I highly recommend going across the street to Java Jazz or the fish market for tacos!

I too was a bit skeptical about staying here after reading the reviews, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised! The hubby got a package deal which included hotel and airfare, so I didn't really choose the hotel accommodations.  When checking in, they asked why we were visiting - we mentioned our 2 year anniversary... they upgraded us from a regular room to a 1 bedroom!! That alone, gave it another star!

When we got to our room, I was pleasantly surprised to find a full kitchen, laundry area, and living room.  Though the beds aren't as soft and comfy as other hotels, they do provide you went plenty of pillows to make the most of your sleeping experience!

Another great thing is that this place is BEACH FRONT! Definite selling point. They have a restaurant at the hotel as well as a coffee bar (which is only open until about 2pm... no bueno for coffee lovers like me!).  Aside from the ocean in front of you, they also have two pools as well as tons of space for people to "lay out".  This place is definitely family friendly and all of the staff is more than willing to help you in any way that they can.

The night before leaving to Maui I yelp'd the hotel and was freaked out by all the negative reviews! I thought it would be old dingy and dirty. I warned my friends and we just hoped for the best.

Then we got to Aston Ka'anapali Shores and I was very impressed because I had such low expectations. The parking was plentiful although they do charge you $9 a night. The check in service was fast and friendly, it had that aloha spirit. We also got an upgrade to a one bedroom ocean view!

Room 820!! It was lovely! Everything was fairly clean but the sofa did look a little old and warn out. There was a nice size dining table and nice kitchen with the works! There is also a washer dryer inside the room which came in handy to dry all our wet towels and swimsuits. The bedroom had a huge CA king bed and a small TV with a partial ocean view. The bathroom was large and clean. But had this creepy locked door inside and I don't want to know what's behind the door.

At first we couldn't figure out the air conditioning, but then we called the front desk and she walked us through it and said to make sure the sliding door was closed tightly. She sent someone up to help us anyways. We figured it out on our own, but the guy who came to check it out explained to us how it worked! He was really nice.

I had a great time at this place and I would definitely return.

We have come here 2 years in a row.  This place is awesome.  Beach front, 2 huge pools, safe, convenient, great for familes, etc...  The property itself is a 3.5 out of 5 stars but the units we have had are great.

Unlike some of the others that have Yelped about this place, we find our rentals direct from the owner on http://www.vrbo.com . That way, we know exactly the unit we are getting, what it looks like, where it is in the complex, etc...  We know that many rent through agencies and the like and then they get stuck with whatever unit is available.

All the units are individually owned so some owners rent direct, some put them in the rental pool.  We absolutely love this place, you can snorkel right in front of the complex and you are across the street from a shopping center and a short drive to anywhere.  For those of you unhappy, try and rent from the complex through http://www.vrbo.com you may have better luck.

First off, there are several listings for this place on Yelp, and one of them says CLOSED.  It was formerly known as ResortQuest Ka'anapali Shores, and is now Aston Ka'anapali shores.
We booked a vacation through Pleasant Holidays.  After reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor, we requested an upgraded room.  Upon checking in, they confirmed that our room had been upgraded.
We got a 1 bedroom room on the 9th floor (penthouse), overlooking the ocean.  The views were amazing.  Very clean room (we have a 1 year old who crawled around the entire room, no worries), nice upgraded large kitchen, huge sliding doors with a balcony, big comfy king sized bed.
The pools were nice, and the grounds are beautiful.  Yes, the beach in front of the hotel is a small, but there are some nice big trees providing lots of shade you can sit under.  A 20-30 yard walk down the beach toward Lahaina will reward you with a wider section of beach with a nice sandy bottom for swimming.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would come here again.

Don't even consider it!!!: Upon check-in, the Front Desk Receptionist told us that the available rooms were mostly the same, so we looked at their model room to get an idea. Well, the "model room" SMELLED like urine from the front door alone & the brown(?) shag carpeting was sticky. I say SKIP this hotel altogether.

Not a fan of this place. The price was right but the rooms were in need of a good cleaning and updating. Also, not on the "good side" of Kaanapali Beach
