Yum Yum! This was actually a lot better than expected. I also like places on Foodler to avoid awkward delivery calls.
Won ton soup was actually REALLY good. Nice broth, excellent dumplings, my only complaint is that they put huge pieces of lettuce in here and the pork was in large pieces too. Maybe a little extra knife action was needed.
Beef lo mein. Meh. Greasy, yes but also good to taste. Nothing to really distinguish it from beef lo mein anywhere else.
Scallion pie. My favorite Chinese app. These were slightly greasy but very flavorful with a nice crunch. They went well with the lo mein.
The service was very fast, so points there. The delivery man was very polite and he actually walked up two flights of stairs to the door rather than making me come down.
Cmon, Allston/Brighton. How hard is it to make an American some decent Chinese food? I mean, I don't even know the difference!
The General Gau's was pretty tasteless. They used more brown rice in the Fried Rice, which is a pet peeve of mine. The Crab Rangoon were not quite what I hoped.. kind of deflated, not as rich in the filling. The Steamed Dumplings were unremarkable. Then, as I sat the next day with my hangover, eating leftover rice... I found a hair in there that didn't belong to me or my bald friend whom I had been sharing the food with the previous night. Never good.. never good..

This is 4, because you can't find better in Allston. Otherwise a 3 when compared to good chinese food elsewhere in the city.
I love Chinese food. I have 4 staple foods that i always order and if they are terrible, you loose me forever. These are pork fried rice, spring rolls, beef teriyaki, and seasame chicken.
The Asia Wok is ok, about as good as you can get in the Allston/Brighton and surrodning Brookline area. Good chinese is hard to find in this area and an excellent pork friend rice without seafood (sorry shanghi) is even harder. i was pleasently surprised by Asia Wok. The rice was bland but edible, large, and good enough for left overs. The beef teriyaki ranged from good and ok, depending on the stick. The spring roll should be avoided at all cost. I took one bite and never looked back. Finally, they have no seasame chicken, but I was told the crab ragoon was ok.
If you want great Chinese food, this isn't it (but then in Boston you're pretty much screwed) and you need to head closer to Chinatown. BUT, if you want acceptable Chinese food to feed your craving, this is it. I will deff. order again. :)
Asia Wok is my go-to Chinese delivery place. They are fast, cheap, and friendly. What more can you want from a Chinese restaurant?
I'm a native New Yorker and crazy picky about my Chinese delivery, but Asia Wok is the best I've found that delivers to Brookline. I love everything I order from there- the egg rolls, the dumplings (or "peking ravioli" as they call them), mu shu, chow fun, steamed chicken with ginger and peppers.
Plus, mention their coupon, and you get a free egg roll with a $20 order. Sweet.
Well, I have never been a chinese food fan... mostly because I am terrified of it.
But as of late, I have had a craving for it.
I have stuck with Asia Wok.
-The prices are decent for the amount of food you get (leftover city!).
-The food is good.
-The delivery is usually pretty fast.
-The delivery people are very friendly and adorable.
I've never had any nasty food or delivery problems with them.
Here's to Asia Wok in a foot of snow!
It's still delish.

I enjoy all types of Chinese food. From the octopus that sat in dear Mrs. Kuang's sink most of the… Read more »
Almost positively disgusting.
I am no stranger to bad Chinese food. I rather enjoy it. But I had serious trouble choking down a couple greasy, soggy, salty spring rolls and limp moo shi vegetables that tasted uncomfortably like pork. Honestly, I LOVE bad food. I enjoy getting all sticky and slimy with grease. I want to bathe in MSG. But for the love of General Tsao, this is really bad food, and I just don't want to eat it.
The only good thing is that delivery is fast. But really, Boston is overflowing with Chinese restaurants. You really don't need to waste your time with mediocre grease-bags.
They really suck. Since I have given up on finding good general tso's in Boston, I decided to give them another shot and try Kung Pao.
It was awful, and there were about 3 peices of chicken in my entire chicken entree. The dumplings had weird stringy things in them.
Terrible - I wish all of these crappy Chinese restaurants would just go away.

Yuck. I expect crappy Chinese delivery as a rule, but this was beyond crappy. I ordered off of… Read more »
True story of the exchange that took place after I stumbled in here last night, approximately 15 minutes before their closing time:
-"Uhh, hey, I'd like some crab rangoons and peking raviolis"
-Woman working the counter conveys my order to the dude working the kitchen (who is in plain view of the customers) who proceeds to shout something which seems to be an obscenity and throw his oven mitt down.
-Woman to me "we can't do raviolis, we give you chicken finger"
-Me, slow to process this information due to excessive alcohol intake "Uhhhh"
-Lady: "Okay, one order crab rangoon, one order chicken finger, that will be $13.55."
...And then I gave her my credit card, wait for the food, take the food, and go home.
Now normally I would probably be pissed off. I love me some peking raviolis, and if you're going to claim to be open until whatever time, you should damn well be able to serve up until that time. But truthfully, I got home, ate about 2 rangoons and 2 chicken fingers, probably couldnt even tell the difference between the two, and then fell asleep on my couch with the food still splayed out on my coffee table. When I finally woke up this morning in a fog and decided that I needed some leftover chinese to help clear my senses and alleviate my hangover, I am happy to report that both the crab rangoons and the chicken fingers both re-heated exceptionally well.
So the moral of the story is this, fellow yelpers: when you're shitfaced, and you're hungry, and you find a chinese place that's actually still open, do yourself a favor and just drop those lofty standards of yours. Chances are you probably won't even remember what you ordered by the time you eat it, and once you re-heat it, it will all taste the same anyways.

Ordered takeout lunch from here today. It was so-so. Granted, my friend and I ordered possibly the least adventurous items on any Chinese menu: orange chicken and General Tso's. Basically we both got a big portion of rice and not very much meat. However, at $5.60 each I didn't feel cheated.
One problem was that they didn't label our orders, and the two things we ordered look kind of similar. We ended up halfway through our meal before we realized that we were eating each other's order. Whoops.
I will probably order from here again, since the price is right and my standards for takeout lunch Chinese are extremely low.
I am not a huge Chinese food person but this place is great. There delivery is really fast and the crab Rangoon are some of the best I have had. I also highly recommend the beef lo mein.
Initially, I was really excited, as the container of food was ridiculously heavy. Unfortunately, when I got home, I discovered why. There was an absolutely gigantic pile of fried rice that was easily over twice the size you would get elsewhere, and the order of spicy shrimp in garlic sauce was tiny. The food was more-or-less average Chinese takeout, though the shrimp tasted a bit overcooked. Thankfully, the egg roll came in a separate bag, so it was still dry and a little crispy. The good news is Asia Wok is really inexpensive, and they have lunch and dinner specials everyday. Compare this to many places that limit lunch specials to weekdays, or that force you to buy a dinner portion and pay for extras like rice and the egg roll.

Hands down, the best Asian in Brighton/Allston. In an area littered with average Chinese, this place is above and beyond. Generous portions with more than fair prices, a very friendly & funny staff, unbelievable fast delivery, and oh yeah, the food is fantastic. We have yet to order anything bad on the menu - the General Gau's and Beef Lo Mein are on nearly every order we place.

I ordered for delivery from here and was thoroughly disappointed. The first time they sent some weird stuff that I hadn't ordered. The next time around - the food sucked. 'nuff said.
I've ordered from Asia Wok a few times. Each time I have been 100% satisfied. First of all, you can order from them on Foodler. Not have to call in an order is pretty great. Everything tastes great. It's easily my favourite Chinese food delivery place around. The food will come faster than you think humanly possible. Last time I had them deliver I almost cracked a rib laughing so hard because they were so fast. It seemed literally impossible that my food would arrive so fast. The delivery guy is awesome!
