Went in Tuesday around 12. Wasn't much traffic so I was immediately seated. The gentlemen took off my old nails. He was really gentle, I always dread that part!
I received a full set of gel nails with just a single color for $30. He did an amazing job, very neat. I would like to get a pedicure from them my next visit. If its as good as the first this will be my go to nail salon! -

I walked in on a Saturday morning and was seated right away. When picking out my color they made sure I knew which ones were the newest colors of the season and made a few suggestions. Katie did my pedicure and Tina did my manicure- they took their time and both came out fantastic. I will be back again!
-and i love that they put little plastic bags over your toes to protect them from your socks and shoes! -

Very very good prices for location. Don't let the simple decor fool you, they know how to do nails here!! I got a French pedicure and I chipped it on my way home like a klutz. The owner (I think she was owner) went above and beyond in fixing it without charge, no questions asked. She was very meticulous and made my nails look perfect, and was very sweet.

I went to this place because my previous manicure was not working for me. (It wasn't that the place I went to did a bad job it's just that I tried this ombre concept, where you gradient the colors in the same color family by putting them on each nail from light to dark... To my chagrin it just didn't work out, my gradient color choices were off)
Anyway, I tried to polish my nails myself the night before, but I did a terrible job because, hello, I'm not a manicurist. So I'm walking around with bare nails (bane of my existence) and I remember, "hey, isn't there are nail salon around the corner from my house".
I walked in and the service was SUPER FAST. Andy had me in his chair in seconds. At first, I was a little hesitant, because I don't really like when guys paint my nails (bad experiences with men who just don't know what they're doing) but Andy, was AWESOME. We chatted and he sold me on both the prices and the services offered. I'm probably gonna end up going back for an emergency pedi and or bikini wax at some point because he was SO persuasive.
Anyway, within about 25 minutes my nails were not only polished, BUT DRY! Andy whipped out some bottle with green fluid in it (after 2 coats and a clear top coat) and I was out of there within minutes. It was a remarkable change from the 45min-hour long wait time for nails to dry. (My nails were so dry that I was able to put together a wall unit and rummage through my purse for my keys within 10 minutes post).
Long story short. I'm definitely going back! -

I just got back from Asia Nails and was (obviously) immediately thinking about yelping my experience.
I got a french manicure and have several issues with my nails..
- While cutting my cuticles, the guy cut pretty deep and my finger wouldn't stop bleeding. He put some antiseptic and clotting serum on it, which made me nervous because I could see the built-up brown dirt on the applicator. Anyway, my nail continued to bleed but we continued on with my manicure. It clotted and he painted alongside the scab.
- After leaving the salon, I noticed that some that on half my nails, you can see the white brush strokes and he missed several spots so it looks like my nails are chipped.
- My nails are not quite square nor round. The sides are filed, but the middles are not even. After filing my nails, he did not clean off the residue, so the ends of my nails are rigid. Wouldn't be a big deal, but he painted underneath and into the insides of my nails with clear polish.
We were cordial and kept up small talk during my manicure, so he did make things right and charged me for a regular manicure. However, I'm still upset by the poor quality and the cut - primarily because (1) I have always worried about the cleanliness of nail salons and (2) I only get my nails done for special occasions... tomorrow we're taking engagement pictures so there are gonna be pictures of my hands.
Why did I come here... Even if he didn't cut my cuticle, I would have still be sad about the quality. I might just take the polish off l :(
Overall, nice people, but they're not very good at painting nails. Or maybe it's just the guy. Unfortunately, their niceness doesn't make up for much.
PS- For those of you who haven't been here in a while, it's been under new ownership for three months. Maybe the last owner did better.
PPS- this was really long. sorry, fellow Yelpers :( -

I went to this place since it was super close to my office- EXCELLENT choice!! I got right in at 5, had my manicure & pedicure done at the same time, all for $29. Yes folks, $29. And just as I was saying I can't find a cute little Asian nail salon that has reasonable prices like they do back home in Atlanta. Do yourself a favor and GO HERE!!
In response to a prior post re: child labor- I by no means condone it, but it's very normal for these kinds of salons to have their children present and sometimes they help out. -

I don't yelp at all so my credibility on here is low. BUT I like this place a lot. Its family run and they are soo humble, professional and excellent at what they do. Most importantly the PRICE is amazing for this neighborhood. $30 for mani/pedi! OR $30 for No Chip Mani and they have a variety of no chip colors to chose from.
I've gone to other places in Wicker Park and felt rushed and not appreciated. Not like Im looking for nail techs to kiss my ass or anything. But since Asia has treated me so well, the standard has pretty much been set. And now Im a regular. So its fine if this place doesn't turn into a crowded posh joint, that just means more personalized attention for ME!!
I hope this place does well and is around for awhile! -

OMG. I'm still stunned at my experience at this place.
Walk in. Saturday 7pm. Asked for a Brazilian wax. The lady says "ok."
She also stated (for some reason) that they were hoping to close an hour earlier since it had been slow today [read: we really wanted to close as you were walking in.]
She starts the process. 3 wax strips in, I'm thinking to myself "what in the hell?!" She was barely using any wax. It was as if she was using bare masking tape!
THEN IT HAPPENS:
Lady: *accent* Oooo...you have lot of hair. It's too much. OOo...it curlyyyy.
Me: Uh...that's why I'm here. To have it removed.
Lady: I can't do full thing. I can only give you Bikini Wax.
Me: WHY? I told you I wanted it ALL off.
Lady: **suddenly [read: conveniently] she can't find the ENglish words to convey her thoughts."
So for 5-10 minutes I'm lying there naked w/ her trying to tell me she can't give me a full BRAZILIAN was b/c I have too much hair and...*gasp*..."it's curly." (her words.)
I HAD to ask her: "...er, have you not ever done a waxing on a Black person before? LIke seriously!"
HER: Yeah. But they no have a lot. ANd I only give them bikini wax.
This lady also has the nerve to say usually when she does brazilian waxes, the hair is "straight." She claimed she didn't know how to do a full waxing on 'curly' hair? WTF! Uhm...I've seen other pubes (eew) and I know most ethnicities do NOT have bone-straight hair down there.
SO after going in circles and me asking her WHY she couldn't do it...I got nothing. I mean...is it because you're being lazy? You supposedly don't know how to do a full waxing on "curly" hair (as she put it)? You think you're going to hurt me? I JUST DIDN'T GET IT!!! She claimed she would hurt me. Er...I'm expecting it to hurt! It always hurts!
I was insulted, annoyed...and well...frustrated. Mostly annoyed.
Basically, I ended up getting up and leaving. It was all or nothing!
She apologized, but my guess is she really couldn't care less. She just didn't want to do it.
I mean...isn't her reasoning the same as someone going in for a haircut and the stylist telling them they have too much hair, so they can't cut it..they can only give them a trim? I mean...I'm here for you to cut it!!! Ugh.
**Sorry, this is so long, but I'm still feeling annoyed and indignant.
Geez....poor lady made me feel like Chewbacca or something. *HISS It was NOT that much NOR that "curly."
Do NOT go to this place. -

Avoid at all costs!!!
I live very close so I've gone a few times. The first time I was not impressed but I wasn't disappointed either so I went back a second time because they are cheap.
Waited 30 minutes (was told 5) and finally said, "Is there some time I can come back later today and you'll be ready for me." They told me 4pm. It was 3:15 so clearly I would've been waiting another 45.
OK so go back at 4pm. They make me wait another 10. I ask about this so they seat me in a pedicure chair and turn on the water. 20 minutes later and my feet are prunes, water is cold and no one has even looked in my direction. I left, prune-y feet and all, and did not return. Major problem: they have virtually no staff.
I decided to give them one last shot for a manicure only about a month later.
First, the place was disgustingly dirty. The minute I sat down I regretted it. On the manicure table: clipped (old) nails, file shavings, general dust and dirt.
The manicurist did a terrible job then gets up in the middle of the manicure to start cleaning. She hands me off to someone who I can only assume is her mother or maybe the owner's grandmother. This woman cannot for her life keep her hands from shaking WHILE she's trying to finish this manicure. I complain, the original woman finishes.
The manicure would not dry (so clearly the nail polish is old) and I ended up paying $15 for something I had to redo myself when I got home because of all the smudges that resulted.
Seriously, do not go here. Bad service, no staff and high wait times, and not clean. Go to Pinky instead just around the corner on Damen. It's the only place I go now, even though they're more expensive. -

It is a 3.5 really just because I've only been here once and I feel that my experience is not wide enough to give them the 4 stars.
However, I walked in last Wednesday without an appointment and everything was ready for my pedicure in 5 minutes. The woman was quiet but nice and good in her job and a super nice 9 year old girl entertained me while my nails were drying.
I thought that the $23 were a very reasonable price and I love the Essie red nail polish that i chose! -

I needed a manicure for my engagement pictures. The place that I had planned on going to wouldn't be able to fit me in so I stopped here totally last minute. The place was completely empty (it was a raining Sunday afternoon).
The manicure was good. I felt that the woman should have shaped my nails better-- they needed to be filed for a little longer. Other than that, it was clean, cheap, and efficient. For $12, I would go back. -
Review from Ceal P.
4 stars for the value and service
I think they recently changed owners because a banner in front advertises pedis for 20 and Mani-pedi for 35.
The place is clean and had good color choices. Had a spa pedi and they did a good thorough job. I even had a split nail that she fixed!!!
Great value. Would come again! -
Review from Nancy H.
Fast? My girl friend and I spent 1.5 hours in here for just a pedicure + drying time! The pedi itself was 1 hour. The ladies were taking their time on us while watching a Vietnamese comedy show on TV. Plus, the leg massage had multiple stages (+1 star), but it wasn't very relaxing, and we hated the Tiger Balm-ish goop they put on our calves! I don't want to smell like an Asian apothecary after a pedi!
So they made us stay for at least 30 minutes at the drying table, which is a tad longer than I usually do. But the worst part was that we both still got smudges by the time we got home! What is up with that?!

I love the convenience and the mani-pedi deal for $33 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Never that many people here, so it's usually quick.
Had a mani back home that didn't look half as good as theirs, didn't last half as long, and cost twice as much. So Asia Nails is my preferred mani/pedi location. :) -

Went here the other day after not having been for a year or two. I think it's under different management. There are a lot of poor reviews for this place. But. the staff there now is awesome. It was slow when I went in. So the daughter did my manicure while the mother did my no chip manicure. It's been a few days and still no chipping. It's a great place and very friendly.

Pluses: massage chairs while you get a pedicure, employees are fast, good french tip manicures that last a week
Cons: located on a sketchy part of the block (see explanation below), made one person's cuticle bleed
Although the location is on the main street in a good neighborhood, we had quite a scary experience the day we went there to get manicures/pedicures the day before my cousin's wedding. A homeless person actually came inside, started asking for money and when he/she (I couldn't tell from the voice and my back was facing "Pat") did not get it, starting threatening the nail salon manager/owner and calling her names. But this was probably a very rare occurence...or at least I hope for the owner and employee's sake. -

So I am pissed that my African American sister had such a horrible experience here. Jeez, she just wanted her pubes shaved, is that so horrible? Anywho, I was in desperate need of a mani/pedi and was tired of driving looking for a decent place so I opted for this place~ Mary is a no go! Mai is who you want to ask for! Unfortunately, they work in pairs so if you only want one to perform both or all services, you should mention that at the service desk. THEY DO NOT HAVE MATTE POLISH OR FINISH! Just thought I'd put that out there. the pedi chairs are awesome. wax services are performed in the back area which is really nice (including brows). they do "upsell" as often as possible (good business tactic). the place looks great. I would go back for mani/pedis only! Actually, I take that back, I'm gonna go back for a Brazilian Wax too, I'll keep you all posted~

What a great value! $12 manicure and it was great. My nails were looking obsene. I walked in and they took care of business.
The color selection is pretty decent-- OPI and Essie are available.
They made sure the shape was exactly what I wanted. I even asked her fix a blemish on an already painted nail and she gladly obliged.
Would buy again! -

I love love love this place. They do a great job everytime. They even put lime slices in the water for both pedicures and manicures. I'm not sure what the benefit is, but I've never seen it before and felt refreshing and cool. The prices are very inexpensive. I've gone twice now and have been very satisfied both times. I even brought my boyfriend and our best guy friend for a pedi and mani and we had so much fun. THE BEST PART...they allow you to bring drinks!

After brunching in the area, we stumbled into this tiny little nail shop to have some girlie pampering. FABULOUS prices...only $35 for a manicure and a pedicure. And boy, these women earned it. They were great and grabbed their supplies and went to down. Everything was super relaxing (including their heated, massaging pedicure chairs). I will definitely be back at least once a month.

I have only been here once but I truly had a great experience. The women working there were so nice and it has to be the cheapest manicure/pedicure I've ever had.
On top of this, I had an experience that will bring me back here many times because I like it when people get the service they deserve. For example, if you are rude then you shouldn't get good service. That's just fair. So while I was there, my girlfriends and I had a short wait (as in less than 30 minutes). No biggy. We just sat and talked. While we were waiting a totally entitled 20-something struts in and just sits herself at one of the booths. She sighs loudly when no one runs over to her. One of the women acknowledges her and says there is a wait, that my group would go first. Well the girl was pissed. She said that she should go first because she is in a hurry. But the woman just said again that she would have to wait. Then out she goes and I thought she wouldn't be coming back. However she did. After about 15 minutes she comes back in again demanding again to be done before us, this time claiming that she has been waiting 45 minutes. Ha! When the woman started to ignore her, I started to love this place. People like that, who are so insanely rude to people in the service industry, belong on a special level of hell in this writer's opinion. Eventually the girl literally asked for gloves and started loudly and rudely doing her own pedicure. It was bizarre. And the fact that the women working there just let her do her own, instead of apologizing or helping her...well it was hilarious.
Well done Asia Nails. I'll be coming back. :) -

Not my first choice...there are plenty of other places I would get a manicure or pedicure in the Bucktown area. But, Asia nails was open on a Sunday and the place was empty. My friend and I were taken immediately for pedicures. The store offers a large selection of nail polish, the massage chairs are comfortable, and the scrub they use for pedicures spells and feels amazing. The store though did not feel very clean and the TVs were very loud. The woman who gave me my pedicure was somewhat rough throughout the entire pedicure. She was especially rough on my cuticles and didn't seem to know how to use a nail file. Overall just ok, probably wouldn't go back for another pedicure.

I stopped by here for a manicure after trying to go to my normal place, only to find they were closed for renovations. It was a Tuesday afternoon, around 5pm and they were empty, so I didn't have to wait. It was quick, although not the greatest paint job, a little thin on the sides and near the cuticle. BUT! It was only $12, so I wasn't complaining, even when the paint started to chip after 3 days.

$20 pedicure advertised on the banner has been offered all summer - hopefully it's not going anywhere anytime soon. The girls here are so nice but the guy who runs the show is pretty unfriendly and is not the kind of owner who is willing to pick up slack and perform services if everyone else is busy. I'll keep going back until they raise the price because you really can't beat it, and it's just a short walk from where I live.

Asia Nails, I heart you. When I lived in Chicago, you were my go-to place. Now that I have moved to Mpls, you are one of the places in Chicago I miss desperately. I got rid of my car a long time ago, so I am on my feet constantly. I have giant feet that have been mauled by ballet pointe shoes, too tight pointy toe shoes, too high heels and a love of being barefoot when not in any of the above. Asia Nails has never, ever, let me down with my pedi. I come out of there feeling like I have princess feet that have never had a moment of neglect. (Much to the amusement of the Wicker Park residents who got to see me walking around in my flip flops in Feb because there was no way I was risking me pedi by putting boots on!) I don't care if it is not fast. It just means that they are being thorough and that I get more time in the fantastic massage chair! Much, much better quality than so many places I've been that were far more expensive.

The place for no-nonsense service. A woman named Aoa did a very nice job on my toes. They are pretty meticulous with the cuticles and the polish. Also, as someone else mentioned, they use a crazy industrial strength minty exfoliater on your calf and feet. It did sort of burn so I was worried my sensitive skin was going to freak out, but luckily my legs just feel nice and soft and a bit tingly (hours later!). The pedicure was 25 and worth every dollar. This wouldn't be the place I'd go with a bunch of girl friends to be pampered, BUT it is perfect for when I'm flying solo and looking for an anti-sheeshee zone.

this nail place is really close to me and i've been meaning to try it out for a pedicure or wax for a while. when i couldn't get in to trim same day for my eyebrows, i decided to try it.
i went in and was greeted by a 10-year-old who appears to run the front desk. she explained that it would be 30 minutes before i could get in. no problem. well, i actually waited for 45 minutes (they seem to take a really long time doing pedicures) and sat down for the wax. without even looking at my brows the woman came at me with the wax. no preparation at all. then she started waxing above my brows, which usually i don't have done. i got a little nervous and told her i just wanted them cleaned up, not much taken off. clearly she didn't listen at all because she waxed off half of my eyebrow!
the place didn't seem very clean either and the staff was not friendly. fortunately the price was only $8 which made it a little better but i won't be going back. -

I used to go to this nail salon quite a bit and thought they were fine. However, this last time it was terrible. First of all, they are putting their children (ages 10-14) to work at the shop. Not only is this illegal, they did a horrible job. I ordered a manicure and pedicure and the girl who was around 14 gave me a pedicure. I received a phone call and needed to run back to a meeting and come back later that day. One of the women working their (girl's mother?) said that was no problem, which was cool. When I came back, this same woman looked at my pedicure and called the young girl over. She basically redid everything and showed the girl all of her mistakes. So, if I hadn't come back later, I would have just left the salon with that half ass pedicure.
Also, the bottoms of my feet were completely smooth when I went to Asia Nails. The girl used an intense emery board and scratched the bottoms of my feet. I was wincing in pain and pulled away, but I think she was instructed to do this to every client, so she kept going. Basically, it tore off the skin and my feet have been sticking to socks and not smooth since then. After two weeks of putting lotion on them they are just finishing healing.
Sorry to say, but would never go back here. -

I had seen the salon from outside and the exterior does not reflect the very nice and clean interior.I was greeted by two of the employees, was immediately taken care of.Lynn introduced herself(what a dol!).She told me they were the new owners.I was in very bad shape hands and feetwise.I was treated very courteously,Lynn excused herself before speaking to another employee..wow! I received a beautiful french set of gels and basically a mini pedi, which also looks great!..for 55.00 bucks.Lynn took her time, was very meticulous and was very sweet and personable.I will be back.Make an appointment though, there are only 2 techs and they are good. They will be busy, but they are worth it! Way better than Nail Gallery!!
