Booth seating for a intimate feel with low lighting. They also have large group table seating if needing. Minimal decor but nice.
They do not have their alcohol license.
We ordered a Appetizer Sampler, and the Hoshi Combo, which came with 4 Specialty rolls and 2 salads.
The Appetizer Combo came with 2 Crab Rangoon, 2 Gyoza and 2 harumaki. Everything came out hot and tasted very fresh.
For the Hoshi Combo we chose
1. Red Dragon Roll
2. Hot Mama Roll
3. Krakatau Roll
4. Surf and Turf Roll
Everything was amazing.
Service was good. Our server was maybe overly polite, which while it was nice, it was a little awkward at times.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - None O.Saint Louis, MO614011Mar 5, 2024
New owner new changes!
No longer serving soft shell crab, which is unfortunate. Although the shrimp are way better and bigger. But, the steak is a different cut and a lot more chewier and tougher. Sushi is the same just a price increase. We use to come twice a week- now it's maybe once a month if that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Isabelle P.KS, KS14615Feb 22, 2024
The food was presented so beautifully and it was absolutely delicious! They had a few vegetarian options as well. The music and environment was really nice. Their tables were super pretty! Our waitress was so sweet and kept making sure we were doing alright. I would eat here again!

Love this place. They have new owners. Now they specialize in sushi and hibachi food. The quality and price point of food was always great before. It continues to be excellent. We shared a sushi plate called Asia Garden platted 1. You pick an item from each category simple sushi roll, fried sushi roll, and special sushi roll. Top down: Hollywood, Vegas, and west Philly rolls were all excellent. Highly recommend. This was only $25. That blows my mind. Don't sleep on this place. It's a hidden gem for sure.

The guy that works the front counter is super nice. They've been doing a wonderful job. We like to order some sushi and combination plates so we have leftovers to take for lunch the next day. Haven't had a single thing yet that we have not enjoyed. I only wish that they would deliver (they probably do through a second party like door dash/grub hub) but it's better for my waistline and wallet that they don't deliver. Haha. Best Chinese food in Collinsville. Hands down.
Nov 29, 2019Previous reviewThis is the best Chinese and sushi in Collinsville. I feel like it's such a hidden treasure. The outside is blah but you walk in and it's such a nice classy and clean atmosphere. My husband and I love their sushi, especially the spicy shrimp roll. I haven't had anything there that we didn't love. It's very tasty and the price is amazing for the quality of food. I'm so glad we found this place. I was so disappointed in the food from some of the other Chinese places in town, then I found Peking and they were ok (kind of bland but not terrible) then we found this place and we love it. Go check them out!

Recently went for the first time. The service and the food was great!! We got a bento box and chicken hibachi. Going to try the sushi next which I saw some other people get which looked picture perfect!

I usually have at least ok food here. Tonight was different as the food was awful. In particular the spicy salmon roll looks awful and the salmon has turned. Just "salmon" and cucumber. A joke. Can't wait to be sick tonight.

When I looked at Chinese restaurants, this one had the highest rating in Collinsville next to that fine dining sit-down one on Main Street. And like the other Chinese food restaurants, this one is trash. I never eat Chinese in Collinsville and I was reminded why when I ordered from here. Most of the 5 star ratings were extremely old (at least 2 years) and/or referenced the sushi. So since I wanted just fried rice and lo mein, really wasn't the best reviews to base my opinion on. So I ordered a small shrimp fried rice, small chicken lo mein and an egg roll. $20. Not upset about the cost, I get it, everything has went up as small business owners are just trying to survive. But the value for my $20 was not there. The egg roll was literally 1/3 the side of a "normal" egg roll. Like something out the freezer section of the Dollar Store,. About 2.5 inches long and about 1/2 in wide. Like, what?!? It tasted like a cheap frozen egg roll.
The shrimp fried rice, where are they getting this neon yellow rice in Collinsville? Where is the deep rich brown fried rice with onions, bean sprouts and green onions on top? All the Collinsville Chinese restaurants definitely drinking from the same poisoned cup of Kool aid with their yellow rice that is dry and tasteless.
The lo mein was just as bad. The noodles were not traditional round noodles, looked like linguini noodles, flat noodles. And it had 1 big slice of red pepper in it with a bunch of chicken bits in it that looked like dried up leftover pieces. The lo mein was dry as a powderhouse and the noodles were gummy. Like, what?!?
I don't know if I am just used to metropolitan area Chinese (Chicago, St. Louis) and I understand you wouldn't expect to get outstanding Chinese in small town USA Collinsville but ugggh it sucks the only time I can get Chinese is if I go to St. Louis or home to Chicago. I could have gotten a dynamo shrimp fried rice and egg roll from the black owned Chinese food place for less than $10 and it would have been delicious!
So skip this place. And to the owners, focus on your Japanese menu and perfect your sushi and Japanese hot dishes and get out the Chinese food game of you are going to cut corners and not do it right.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Cookie C.Chicago, IL04441Nov 2, 2023
The chicken lo mien was good, but the chicken was a little bit dry. The problem was the same with the chicken and scallop hibachi. The scallops however were very good. The pink lady sushi roll was very pretty and was not super spicy. The fried rice was also good. The waiter was very friendly and was also attentive without being disruptive. The restaurant itself was also comfortable and wasn't loud.
