Had a sudden flat tire yesterday and called Ashmont this morning to help. Mike was very welcoming, ordered the tire I needed, called when it came in, and was friendly and provided quick service. Excellent overall! I recommend them highly!

I was passing through Boston and had some car trouble. I went in to Ashmont Tire to see if they could help, and Mike, the owner, told me exactly how to fix the problem. For free.

When I got my vehicle started, I drove it to their shop to have them look at it. They threw it up on the jacks, couldn't find anything wrong. No charge.

    Unbelievably friendly and impossibly generous.

I have two autos that I have begun taking here.  Where to start...

Fixed my tire with 20K miles and did not charge me?!  Yes, right.  I did not ask them to do it for free...and it was the owner who did that.

Brake quote from the dealer was less than $400 on my Caravan, for just the rear breaks.  Ashmont was able to do it front (turn and pads) and rear rotors at $385 and the rotors and pads were higher quality than the originals.  Dealer told me they would have to replace the front rotors while Ashmont was able to turn them and they work wonderfully.  (I am repair savvy).

Jeep had a wobble in the stearing....dealer couldn't resolve and they repaired it at a reasonable cost.

Quality work, ethical, fast, and reasonably priced.   Just because the exterior of their building does not look like a new Lexus dealership, do not count these guys as anything but true professionals.

BTW...this business donates back to local charities.

I am in awe of Mike and his crew. I took my car here because it wasn't starting up. After keeping the car for two days, I was told that my computer needed to be replaced, something that only a dealer could do.

Now here's the unbelievable part. Not only did Mike not charge me for the two day inspection (when they looked at a variety of stuff before figuring out the problem) but he offered to use his AAA card and have the car towed 20 miles to a Toyota dealer close to my place. I can honestly say that I could not believe what I was hearing. Just when you think you are losing your faith in humanity...

Also, another time I had to replace two of my tires and I was done in about 20 minutes in the middle of a busy day. You won't find a more honest, professional, efficient and nicer crew of mechanics than Mike and his group. They have turned me into a loyal customer for life and I can't think of any other place I would take my car after this. 10 stars out of 5!

Dammit, I'm pretty sure I bought a lemon off the Craigslist. But, when I took it over to Ashmont Tire, Mike didn't give me a hard time about it. In fact, in the months since purchasing my little Hyundai wagon, they've seen it about five times and have fixed it, kept the prices low and not made me feel like an idiot in the process.

These guys know what they're doing, but I think their bigger aim is to make you feel comfortable and to let you know they're not going to take you for a ride (no pun intended). They explain everything that's wrong with your car (and believe me, my explanation was extensive), give you some options (i.e. you don't have to get this fixed now, but you're gonna have to get it fixed sometime soon), and keep the prices low.

The staff has extensive knowledge about, um, everything. Just because it's called a Tire shop doesn't mean that's all they do; rather, they can fix anything. It's also nice that you can drop off your car and walk across the street to the newly-renovated Ashmont T stop.

I have a feeling I've begun a long relationship with Ashmont Tire. I'm not taking my lemon anywhere else. I don't think anyone else would have the patience, or the expertise, to fix it!

The fastest and most friendly, no nonsense service. Had a punctured tire. They took my car in right away, even though it was 15 minutes till closing. Edwin (mechanic/eye candy) showed me that in addition to my punctured tire I had a bubble on another tire that was about to explode. 15 minutes later, I had 2 new tires and paid just $159. Skilled, friendly, and speedy service, plus eye candy and a nice waiting room for me to catch up on gossip mags - Fantastic!!!

I've lived around the corner from Ashmont Tire for about 12 years, but it wasn't until I went there last year for the first time that I discovered why people come to this shop from all over the city!

Michael Seigal and his team run an excellent shop.  They are quick, thorough and have really fair prices.  He doesn't try to sell you anything you don't need, and they seem just as happy to patch a tire for you as sell you a new one.

I went to see them because my tire blew out, and I had a (really old looking) spare put on by AAA.  I knew all my tires were getting old, and went in to see how many kidneys I needed to sell for a new set of tires for a BMW.

Well, I'm not going to tell you how old that spare was (apparently pre-dated my second hand car), but Michael confirmed that it would be safer to replace all the tires.  They gave me 4 new tires, dumped the old spare, and switched out one of the decent tires as a spare.  For $300!!!!!!!!!  Gotta love that.  New tires and still have my kidneys.

I also love that they are located right at Ashmont T Station - drop your car off in the morning, take the T to work, and pick up in the evening!

After I had raved about the place to all my friends, I discovered that a ton of people I know have gone here, and all with glowing praise.  Highly recommend that you check this place out for any tire needs, or at least give them a call for pricing, before getting fleeced by somewhere else.

    Ashmont Tire saved me $370!

I'm rough on tires.  For some reason or other, I'm getting them replaced more often than everyone else I know.  For the last couple of months, I've been inflating one every two weeks, until my dad saw the tire and insisted I put the spare on and replace the leaky one (he also pointed out that there was a nail in it... I'm not too observant sometimes).

Anyways, the other three tires are in excellent condition.  I had them all replaced 18 months ago after someone slashed two of them (as well as lots of other peoples cars) at my office.  I know I'm hard on tires, so I'm pretty good about air pressure and getting them rotated, and a couple of car people, including the guys at the first tire place I went to, told me I had three good tires and could get away with only replacing the bad one.

The first place didn't carry the tires I have on my Explorer, so I had to go elsewhere, where they promptly told me they'd only help me if I replaced all four.  I can understand the argument for replacing two at a time on an SUV (I've done it when they're showing wear), but I wasn't going to shell out that much if I didn't have to.  So I decided to return to Ashmont Tire, which is near my office and did the last set of tires I got.

I pulled in and said I need a new tire.  The guy working took a look at the bad tire to see if he could repair it.  I'd been driving around too much on it, so I wasn't surprised when he said it couldn't be saved.  But it's cool that he started with the cheapest option.  Then he checked the others, confirmed they're in good shape with plenty of tread, and stated what I wanted to hear, that only the bad one needed to be replaced.

I had a tight schedule today, so I told them I needed to be back at my office in 45 minutes, I'm happy to leave it.  They assured me it was no problem to get it done now, so I went to Dunkins, stopped in to visit a nearby client for 10 minutes, and returned to find my car finished.

To top it all off, the price of the one tire was 10% less than the per tire price at the national chain that insisted on replacing all four.

No hard sell, just what you need, fast and friendly.  Not something you find much in the automotive industry, but really great when you do.

they replaced all the tires on my car and i can bring it in whenever i need to get them looked at or refilled with air.  strangely, what moved me most was how many middle aged women came during the time i was waiting for my car and were fawning over mike.  they loved the guy.

women are notoriously suspicious of mechanics.  so i thought this was a very good sign.  bringing my car in today for a tune up!

Found myself with a flat... 30 minutes before I had to head into work.

In desperation, I drove Ashmont Tire (Dorchester is ~10minutes south of where I work).  Like others have said, it's quick with no fuss.

It's rare that I find a place (any kind of business) that I'm willing to give 5 stars to, but Mike and the team at Ashmont Tire deserve all five.

Their prices are reasonable and they are always looking for ways to save the customer money -- without skimping on service.  The location (right across from Ashmont T) is great.  You can leave your car in the morning, hop on the T into downtown or Cambridge for work, and 9 times out of 10 they'll have your car ready for pick up after work.

I wish they did Inspection stickers!

Had a slow leak in one of my tires.  Called up and they said to come on over, things were slow.  They took care of the problem so fast that I didn't even finish a conversation with another guy in the waiting room. Repaired the tire for cheaper than the place a month prior which didn't do it right to begin with.

I towed my car to Ashmont Tire to fix all the damages caused by Town Fair Tire in Quincy. Town Fair cross threaded many holes in my hubs and they were so damaged that the bolts could no longer be removed. The repair was out of their depth, and Ashmont Tire was the only shop in the area who would accept the car. (98 Mercedes C43) They managed to remove the wheels within an hour and gave me a quote for all damages. They worked directly with Town Fair so that I did not have to pay a dime. I'm very impressed with the friendly staff there. Mike went above and beyond to itemize all damages and faxed numerous invoices to different vendors. Barry worked on my car personally and is truly a brilliant mechanic. I would recommend Ashmont Tire to anybody who is looking for a respectable shop who really know what they are doing.

I have been going to Ashmont Tire for many, many years and am delighted to give them a rave review. They really know their stuff and their prices are great. Although I am sure it is hard on them, I have often just dropped in for a tire repair or replacement and they have been happy to accommodate me, sometimes right away. The service if friendly and honest and would not go anywhere else for my tires and all that kind of thing.

Excellent, timely service with a fair price tag. They also do work besides tires and will give a pretty accurate estimate. I haven't had a bad experience there yet.
