$0.50 extra per plate if its a Holiday & Weekend. Food was good, prices are really good. Service not that great...probably because it was Xmas morning and she was the only waitress , one more friendlier waitress arrived after we were done, but she got more time to sleep and open the presents that's why she was so happy... LOL

We have been going to Ashley's for several years off and on. It is exactly what it looks like - and that is a good old diner! This is a local diner and it doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles but the service is honest and good. It is a busy place, and if you need someone to hold your hand through breakfast and ordering this isn't that type of place. These ladies are working hard and doing a fine job of getting it to the table hot and cheap. In five years I've never gotten rude service though - not sure what other reviewers are doing to get it. Everyone is always friendly and efficient - which is what I want.
I've never gotten lunch here so I can't comment on the quality. I don't usually think of places like this for lunch. Diners are for breakfast in my mind. My whole family of three eats breakfast there for about 10 dollars. That's with coffee and the waitresses will always make sure they ring the order into the register in the way that makes it most economical. I honestly can't even cook a breakfast at home with as much variety as we all order for the price of Ashley's.
I look forward to Ashley's breakfast and I've never been disappointed yet! I do wish they were open in the afternoons later so I could go more often. I know this is probably part of what keeps the costs down, but I'm often really in the mood for a tasty diner brinner (breakfast-dinner) and would love some Ashley's around 6pm! -

I'm mad this place actually caught my eye and I'm also mad that I made a mental note to try it here. Bad breakfast etiquette was born here u kno..
I tested my curiosity since Kristin's Breakfast spot (way amazing) was on vacation. Why didn't I trust my gut when I walked into this outdated and shabby place?
Service sucked immediately... I felt like we were bothering them just by breathing and being hungry. With our breakfast my mom and I both got a serving of rolled eyes, negligence, bad attitude, rushing us off the table with our bill, and the stank eye... it was on the house!
The waitress(es) don't check on you or go around refilling your coffee. They actually poured the bottom of the pot after it sat there and got burnt... smh
Food - Ordered the turkey bacon, egg whites, home fries.. which was ok
The pancakes (any kind) was trash... hard, tough, waste of calories.. *sigh*
I wouldn't come back here and I mean that... Even if I just needed a bandage. -

This is the kind of place I love to come for Sunday breakfast. The place where there seem to be more regulars than not, that the staff may or may not have been working there for the better part of their lives, and that is perfectly a-ok. Comfortable, just what Sunday calls for.
The menu has the usual breakfast fare. Combos of eggs and meats and starch. But then there are the interesting items.
I recently had the "Ashley's Skillet", now I don't know who Ashley is but he/she is a person after my own heart. Potatoes, bacon pieces and toms covered with sliced American Cheese and baked for just a minute. HOLY CRAP YUM!!Listed in: Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bakey

I absolutely love coming to Ashley's. It is definitely a place for regulars and my family has been coming here for years, but people looking for a new place for breakfast should not be afraid to stop in. The staff is all extremely friendly, well as friendly as they can be when they're rushing around. This place is always packed on weekends for breakfast. The turnover is quick though so the wait is never long.Your food is out within 5 minutes of ordering it and your coffee is always full.
As for the food, it is decent. Portions are on the smaller side, but when you're eating cheesy eggs and homefries you don't need a lot. The options are endless and I love the different ways they do eggs benedict. Chocolate chip pancakes have been great and omelettes done well. No surprises on the menu, lots of typical breakfast diner kind of things.
If I'm visiting the suburbs on a weekend I make sure I stop by Ashley's at some point. -

Ashley's is a great place for breakfast. It's a really cute, totally pink restaurant with great breakfast items. They do have lunch options as well and specials on the board.
It's a small place with counter seating and a handful of tables. You can totally tell some people come here everyday as the staff knew who they were and if they drank coffee or tea.
I got the Tuscany omelet and it was delicious! With spicy sausage, spinach and mozzarella cheese ( think) it was good but very filling.
Bf got the Ashley skillet was delicious! I almost wished I had order that but I am a huge fan of omelet and love ordering them when I get a chance.
The counter adorn pictures of various dishes including pictures o f the cutest bunny shaped pancakes I have ever seen! They were soo cute!
Overall, a great stop for breakfast! Staff is real nice and friendly. Food comes out quick and hot! -

If I could I'd only give it half a star. I went there this past Sunday. Because of reviews here on Yelp. We got there, around 1:30PM only to find out that the kitchen was about to close. So we were rushed.
I ordered waffles with blueberries. I admit the lady warned me, and told me the blueberries were a pie filling. No fresh blueberries.
I have NEVER in my life tasted something as disgusting as that. We got our food, and then we were rushed to eat, so they could all leave.
There's NOTHING cozy about the place. It's old, and the inside definitely shows signs of wear and tear. We even got the best seat in the restaurant.
I'd never go there again -

We have recently moved back to the south shore and are looking to establish a list of brekfast places. This place was highly recommended. The food is on Par with Friendly's or any other chain like that. Definitely not anything to write home about. Service is typical, coffee, order, food, check. Pretty straight forward. These types of places survive by getting you in and out., unless your a local in which they'll chat with you as long as you wish while your having the same cup of coffee. Of course it's a local place. Diner's like these usually are. Doesn't really bother me.
They brew New England Coffee which I don't like so I will not hold it against them but it was fresh and better then your standard diner coffee.
This place is good for families with kids as it's cheap. Also good for people who would rather not make their own breakfast, but want a standard breakfast without having to pay much for it. If you looking for something more flavorful then this is not the place for you.
Breakfast has to be my favorite meal so I tend to have very high expectations so I realize that while this place may not be for me, it may be right for others. -

Everything is Pink - Woooah...
It's definitely a local's place - the waitresses knew everyone, except for Boo-Boo and me.
Must say that the orange juice was delicious! I love pulp!
I had the Breakfast Bandito, which was a large breakfast burrito. So large, in fact, that when it came out, it made feel uncomfortable.
A little bit.
Over-stuffed with eggs, cheese, mushrooms, peppers, sausage, AND chorizo, the thing was quite intimidating.
But delicious.
Boo-Boo had the Ashley Skillet, which was two eggs, toast, and homefries & bacon topped with melted cheese.
I think for the first time, I went to brunch and could not finish what was placed in front of me. And that's saying something.Listed in: Brunch Me Up.

I can not think of a better place to skip my morning classes and go eat breakfast in high school. Oh memories!
Haven't been in years, honestly, but at the time, it was a great breakfast place, it's on the list of must revisits. Will update if it magically began to suck. Doubt it! -

Ashley's is by far the best breakfast spot on the south shore. With virtually every breakfast item imaginable on their very modestly priced menu I can't think of another breakfast spot that is even in the same realm. The place is definatly full of charm-Patty is a great waitress and if you dine there enough she'll learn your order. There is plenty of parking located next door in the CVS parking lot. It does get busy on the weekend, however, i've never waited longer than 10 mn for a table. At $6.00 (that's including a 40% tip) for my regular, an E consisting of 2 eggs, homefries, toast, juice and tea, Ashley's can't be beat!

Ashley's not only has the coolest name, but has great breakfast food! My friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm and only wait about a minute for a seat-yourself table. Tons of choices to chose from and at a very reasonable price too. I love exploring and find little gems like these.

I've been going to Ashley's for a few years now, and I have to say, I'm not sure what some of the reviews are talking about. The only owner I've seen (I think he was the owner, anyway) was greeting people with big smiles and handshakes. The service has always been really friendly, and the service is fast - Patty always remembers my coffee before I order it, and my daughter always gets her Mickey mouse pancake right away. It's a great place to come for breakfast (I definitely recommend theomletts - spinach with egg whites is the best!) kid friendly, cheap, great food, smiling service. Not sure what else you could want!

Review from Kate T.
Typical friendly neighborhood place. I wasn't really impressed with much except that our food was out less than 5 minutes after ordering. The stuffed apple pancake had cold apple pie filling in it (cold filling in a hot pancake?) and I'm pretty sure the pancakes were made from Bisquick. It would be more cost-effective and better tasting for them to make their own... Made me miss my favorite diner back home in CT.

Ashley's is AWESOME for breakfast. I love this place. Awesome chocolate chip pancakes, great french toast, yummy home fries! Portions aren't super generous but that's ok, heavy breakfast foods make me loagy as is. The waitstaff is awesome, friendly, and super fast. The service is quick which is good because Ashley's is PACKED on the weekends. PACKED!!! The prices are dirt cheap and everything here is quality.

There could be nothing better than breakfast at Ashley's during a lazy weekend! This place has a rock out extensive menu with lots of great choices and cozy inviting atmosphere where you'll feel like one of the locals... I am a local.. but, it actually makes me feel like I belong there! I heart eating pancakes at the bar which has those old stools and enough personality you feel like you are chilling with a friend. Our fav. local breakfast spot!

Ashley's is truly a hidden gem of the Boston area. I end up coming here almost every weekend for brunch with my boyfriend, and we are truly sad if we have to miss a Sunday spent in one of their booths. The place gets pretty packed on weekends, but I've never had to wait more than 10 min for a table. The waitresses are busy but friendly, and after coming a few times they'll get to know you and your order. I like the fact that we have two cups of coffee on our table before we even order. The menu is pretty extensive; pancakes are yummy and fluffy, there is a HUGE list of different omelets to choose from, and the portions and prices are very reasonable. This is a true neighborhood joint-- you'll see all kinds of people stop in, from families, to couples, to teenyboppers, etc. And they have a dedicated base of regulars too. Big fan here.

BTW: the "other place" is good, don't get me wrong... I just don't get the same "you're family" feeling that we do at Ashley's.

We hit up Ashley's when our usual brunch joint was too busy and I don't know that we will be back. Pros: Super fast service - this is certainly not these ladies first time at the rodeo - they moved lightening quick. Affordable, they don't waist money on garnish and presentation, you get what you pay for and that is that. Cons: Perhaps it was what we ordered and we just got some of the "meh" items, but I felt the food was bland. The hubby ordered a crab benny, the crab filling was very bready, and the egg was on the side! I ordered the ham and cheese bagel which also required assembly. That bummed me out - my favorite part of a breakfast sandwich is that is comes all stacked together forming a melted mess that you just bit into - I was not in the mood to piece it together, and having an egg patty, slice of ham and a toasted (not grilled) sitting on a huge plate with lots of empty space made me say boo (at least plate it on a smaller dish) . The home fries were ok, but tasted and looked like they came out of a freezer. Next time I will just wait at Nikos - I feel bad for straying.

Not a bad place for breakfast at all. You can tell they have their fair share of regulars. My mom told me I spoke my first word here (27 yrs ago) so it's been around forever! It's nothing different, not too special, but definitely can hit the spot for a greesey egg sandwich or french toast and bacon. I'd prefer Kristin's in Braintree due to their variety and fun new things to try. It also seems a little cleaner than Ashley's.

wow i just came on this site to tell you all what a wonderful breakfast i had at ashley's this past saturday 4/3/09. and after reading thru the reviews i was shocked to see that the party of five from eastham that were behind us were so dissatisfied. i believe it was the same party of 5 just from the description, i remember the girls being extremely friendly and apologetic for our slight wait. on a saturday with the restaurant as busy as they were our wait was minimal. the three small tables that were referred to are just that 3 very small tables. the girl i believe to be the head waitress explained that the tables together would still be cramped and that they might feel uncomfortable, the wait would be just a minute and that she would attach one of the small tables to the end of a booth so that all would be comfortable. during the wait the cashier was talking to everyone enquiring as to where we were from and talk of opening day at fenway. after we were seated we noticed the older man in the group saying something, one of the young ladies with him motioned he be quiet and told the staff they were fine and would wait, the man then headed to the door with group in tow and left. not 3 seconds after they left tables opened and the wait was no more.
