As a native New Yorker, I pine on a daily basis for a NY deli out here in Los Angeles. Finally, my boyfriend let me in on a little secret - Ashley's!
We came down here on Sunday at around 11 to grab some sandwiches and head to the beach. From the second I walked in, I felt like I was on the corner of 81st and Third at a NY bodega. It was awesome and I started to feel all warm and giddy inside.
To top it off, the sandwich was actually really delicious. They have about six signature sandwiches you can order from or you can make your own. I decided to go with the latter and ordered turkey on a french roll with munster, mayo, salt and pepper, lettuce, tomato and avocado. It was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s.. The service was extremely fast and we were out of there in about five minutes. There is also a wide selection of beverages...from sodas to energy drinks to alcoholic.
A great place! For a deli to satisfy a New Yorker out of New York is truly an amazing accomplishment....congratulations Ashley's! -

If you're ever in Hermosa Beach and in the mood for a sandwich why settle for just any sandwich? Head over to Ashley's Beach Market and enjoy a sandwich made using Boar's Head meats and cheeses.
This little Deli/market has everything you need for a perfect beach lunch. Refreshments, libations, a great selection of healthy but tasty chips, frozen delights to help you cool off on a warm sunny summer day and best of all to complement your sandwich you can also pick up some of their ready made salads and specialty dishes from the deli case. It's mouth watering good!
The thing I like most about Ashley's is that compared to it's competitor's up the street and down the street (I shall not name any names here for I don't want to anger anyone) Ashley's doesn't sport ghetto shelves and dirty floors and dusty products, nope you can tell some TLC has gone into this place the shelves are cute and the products stocked don't look like they've been sitting on the shelves longer than I've been alive.
I do think they should carry a few more high end champagne's and wines so I can pop in and buy stuff there instead of having to hit up BevMo. -

The sandwiches were okay, but I didn't think they were anything special.
In fact the only thing "special" about our visit was the huuuuge hair that my uncle found in his untouched sandwich when we got them home. So not okay.
