More like 3.5 stars
Pros: Got my order right at a good price. Also, upon installation, they helped clean some shattered glass off the floor.
Cons: Disorganized. Timing. I called for an estimate. They gave me a 9-12 window on a Saturday morning. 12:20 rolls around, I call- they assure the guy will be there by 2. Thanks for wasting half of my day.
*Also, after they had done the estimate and gave me a price, and after I gave them my information to go ahead with the order, they say they'd call me in a day or 2 after the glass is made to schedule installation. A week goes by. No call. I call. They say its ready. We arrange a time, between 1-2. The handyman calls me at 10:45 to say hes coming in an hour. He ends up coming at 12:50, which is fine- but again, not in the timeframe I was told.
Other than the miscommunication, they did a good job. -

These people are fantastic! The day before Easter my glass shower door shattered. Ashland Glass was the only business (out of 4 that I called) to answer the phone on a Saturday. Within 1-1/2 hours they were at my house taking down the shattered door. Later that day I received an estimate (lowest price of three that I eventually obtained) for a replacement. When I needed another repair for the shower, they provided the name of a handyman. Installation was on time, professional, their people are courteous, and they removed all debris. What more could you want? I highly recommend Ashland Glass.

We had a broken pane of glass inside one of the old wood-framed windows in our condo. I called Ashland Glass and they sent someone out that afternoon to assess the situation and give us an estimate. The gentleman that came out was very courteous and helpful. He took the window out, brought it back to the shop and returned the next morning to re-install the fixed window. They charged us $40 less than the original estimate. Excellent!!

I found you on Yelp and I trusted my yelp friends...they were right! This place is great!
Unfortunately I broke a very thick full length mirror that was given to me by my parents...it was older than me...it was a part of their first bedroom set as a married couple. It's a very simple but beautiful solid walnut frame. I was heartbroken when I shattered the mirror shortly after moving into my new place. I knew I couldn't just throw the frame away. I began my search for a local glass/mirror shop.
The staff at Ashland Glass and Mirror Design were great, very down to earth family owned shop! I could tell by their shop that they also do custom mirror and glass installations in your home as well. I'll definitely keep them in mind if I ever need something like that done at my place.
I dropped off the frame and had a quote for the repairs. $75 for 1/4 inch thick mirror for the 24" x 52" frame. They said it would be finished in about an hour. I took care of some errands and came back. They ended up using a thicker mirror but still charged me the original quoted price! $75 is a steal for this mirror. You'd be hard pressed to find anything close to it for that price. I was thrilled! They also helped me unload and load the mirror into my car. Very nice, very friendly! Highly recommended! -

I am shocked at the price and the quickness of service! I emailed to get an estimate for a piece of glass measuring 40 x 28 on Sunday evening. I received a quote by the time I woke up Monday morning of $79! I called Monday afternoon to place the order and had my glass Tuesday afternoon! AMAZING! The price alone would have made me write this review!

I called this place to have glass cut for a picture that needed to be replaced. They close at 5pm but when I called at 4:30 and gave them my measurements they said it would be ready in a couple of minutes. Super great service and great work. I got the glass and when I went to put it in the frame I realized I gave them the wrong measurements so I went back the next week and they fixed it for free. This is the best place in the city! Great prices and staff too. Definitely recommend them!

I was very impressed with these guys. I had a simple cut to do and I had gotten quotes from businesses both local and on the internet. These guys were way more reasonably priced than what I was finding, and the glass looks great. Thank you!

NICE PEOPLE! We purchase and had installed a large piece of tempered glass as a shower partition. We were quoted $3K at Community Supply in Lincoln Square and paid a little more than 1/2 at Ashland Glass. The install was flawless. We also had some mirrors cut to size to be installed under some cabinets. One of the mirrors was chipped after we opened (but we didn't notice until later). They replaced with no questions asked - very nice of them to trust that it was delivered that way. Highly recommended.

I just had a custom mirror (for an oval frame) cut here today and I'm a very happy customer. Sam was great, he quoted me a good price and cut the mirror while I waited. I couldn't believe that I was able to get it cut right away. Also, he has a lot of custom glass work that he's done himself there, he's very talented (check out the Chicago building mirrors, etc.). I will be a repeat customer here -- great customer service!

I've had sheets and sheets of glass cut at this place and they do an amazing job. Remodling a home is no easy task and they take any stress out of a job that can be somewhat precarious and fragile. Nearly every wall in my home has something that has come from their shop, and my home looks amazing!

Hoped to have a better experience here given the ratings but I was left less than impressed. I brought in a cracked storm window and a broken screen frame. The storm they fixed just fine, but the screen they said they could fix, but charged me $60 to basically slap a band-aid on the frame. The response was "that's all we could do." Not sure I got my money's worth. Glass work appeared fine, but be careful with anything else you take for repairs.

I have used these guys multiple times and have been extremely pleased with all mirrors, windows and glass cabinet fronts they have built for me. Family owned - very friendly. I recommend to all of my friends. Job is always done on time. Very honest.

Thanks yelpers! Coming home to a broken window is never fun - Duplex down- rebhabbed condo basement window.... Called a few places and not many were even willing to come give an estimate at 5pm on a Tuesday evening, without charging an emergency fee. Really, just for an estimate and measurement. I can board up the thing myself. So instead i listened to you yelpers and contacted Ashland Glass. A guy named Sam came out about an hour and a half later--- Fair Price, same ball park as my condo management company suggestion was quoting... also same wait time. 5 biz days to get a double pane replacement.... Nonetheless, like clockwork Cesar showed up today, and replaced the window. Consumate professionals all! If you ever need a home window repair, these guys were the best!

DO NOT USE ASHLAND GLASS. HORRIBLE SERVICE
I called Ashland Glass to replace glass in a window that had moisture in it. I talked to someone gave him the dimensions and told me it would be $100 to replace and install. I take my window in then they quote me at $280, the reason being that i had mutton's, yet the installation they charge was $80. The measured the glass and they said give it 2 weeks and they will have it. 3 1/2 weeks went past no call. I called them, they said that the muttons (the bars in the middle) they could not find the same ones, and I needed to bring it back in to get temporary glass in and wait another 2 weeks!
I take it in and when i get it back there is a HUGE chip in the wood on the frame of the window. All they said was it must of been like that when I gave it to them. It was not, they said sorry but cannot do anything. I leave and come back 25 mins later, and they found the chunk of wood they took out and all they did was glue it back and paint was missing so now it looks horrible. They did not give me a discount for ruining the frame of the window, the service is poor they do not take care of your product, they do not call you with updates, they over quote you. I will never recommend, never use i went by YELP reviews and they are all bogus! -

Have to agree with everyone else. Called to get a quote for a couple glass shelves. Price was way lower than anyone else, they took the order over the phone without wanting a credit card. Shelves were ready the next morning and were perfect. Even the paper they were wrapped in was beautifully folded. These guys care about what they do and it shows. I'll never go anywhere else. Oh, and there's a 15 minute zone right in front of their store so you don't have to pay to park.

Ashland glass is great. I would very much recommend them. They installed glass shower doors over my two tubs. When one of the glass doors came in, it had a small nick and Ashland immediately took it back and replaced it with a new door within the hour. Great job! They also installed two mirrors which also look good. Highly Recommended for quality of work and value.

We have a loft and had Ashland install glass from the top of our wall all the way to the ceiling. They did a GREAT job, our glass walls provide sound privacy in the second bedroom while allowing tons of natural light to still get in!!

I had to replace my double pain windows since they shattered in a storm a few weeks ago. Many shops wouldn't replace the glass only since it is a low margin business but these guys took the time to inspect the damage and were very reasonable in price. They also installed the glass on Saturday. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone.

I totally recommend this store. The service was excellent. We had bought an antique style coffee table and gave measurements on the phone to the store to get the glass cut to place on top of it. But when we tried to place the glass on the coffee table it didn't look right because the coffee table had uneven grooves where the glass should be placed. We then took the coffee table into the store and with almost no cost they re-cut a new piece of glass to match the coffee table perfectly!

I would definitely reccomend Ashland glass and mirror! I bought a large oval frame and wanted to put a mirror in there instead of a picture. I called around to several custom mirror companies and was appalled at the prices they were charging to cut an oval 1/4 inch (no bevel) mirror. I called Ashalnd glass and spoke to a woman who was very friendly and helpful. She quoted me $15-$20 depending on the shape (it's harder to cut an oval shape) and considering she hadn't seen the frame yet. My husband took it in on Monday and they cut the mirror and put it in the frame while he waited! It came out to around $22 with tax and it looked great! I'll definitely be back for my bathroom mirrors. Bottom line, they're friendly, efficient and affordable....what more could you ask for??

They were helpful and quick. They cut the glass while I stood there. The cost was more than I was quoted on the phone, but maybe due to the fact I wanted round edges vs corners.
