This is a must do for me when I'm in Portland. I've been known to go three days in a row. The foot spas are so relaxing, the staff is knowledgeable, the roller bed gives you one of the best stretches you'll ever receive. And, the ionized alkaline water is exemplary.

What a calming, restorative experience! I visited the NW location (NW Northrup and NW 21st) after a full day on my feet. After choosing the type of foot soak service, you are led to the back, where you take your shoes off and stow away your belongings in a closet.
There are a few communal large foot tubs (about 2.5-3 feet wide) in a simply decorated, inviting room. Resembling like a huge stone bowl, the tubs are jetted and have smooth stones on the bottom. You sit in one of the comfy chairs surrounding the bowls, submerge your feet, and relax! Feels like heaven! At the time, I was the only one there, so I had my own foot soak to myself, but you can share it with up to a couple friends per bowl. I had a great time reading my book, and am planning on bringing wine with friends next time.
After my foot soak came the 30-minute reflexology massage in an adjacent room. You lay back in a reclining chair and the reflexologists massage your feet in a gentle, relaxing manner. The reflexologist even explained the different points on my feet and what they represented on my body.
My legs and feet felt rejuvenated after this experience! I would definitely go back. The prices are very reasonable, the staff are friendly, and my feet feel fantastic. -

I went in not sure what to expect but my experience was fantastic. The foot soak is really nice. A hot tub for just your feet is pretty sweet actually. For someone like me who gets too hot in a full tub this is a perfect solution.
In addition to the soak I got a 30 minute reflexology appointment. Carolyn was friendly and made me feel very comfortable. She was able to answer all my questions about what she was doing and which points related to what other stuff in your body. Even if you aren't into the theory behind reflexology the foot massage is the best I have ever had.
I will be back and will probably bring friends. -

Yes, I will soak my feet in your large foot tubs of smooth stones and clean warm water for 20 minutes for $5. The question being: will you accept my flip-flopped dog slobbered toesies into your water? But of course you will. And you'll be so friendly and inviting. And you'll talk to me about how I can get some pals together and rent a big ole foot soaking tub for an hour for $20.
And I'll buy a cute bamboo wind chime and hang it inside my house. Cause there's a lot of air blowing around in here. And I like the wooden tinkling. -

God, this place is hilarious.
The department that I work for has a yearly Holiday Event and this year someone came up with the genius idea of going to Ashiyu so we could soak our feet in tubs of hot water. Merry Christmas! Because nothing says Christmas like... bubbling hot water.
The lady behind the counter was nice enough and constantly dealt with my mild forms of naysaying and loud pitched giggling due to the jet streams of water that propelled rocks between my toes, causing me to giggle like a middle school girl.
The pizza place across the street was absolutely delightful and were accomodating enough to deliver our food to us while we were getting our foot soak on. After some food in my belly, and some steamy water action, I was actually feeling quite relaxed. It kind of made me wish my entire body was submerged in a hot tub, but who the fuck goes hottubbing with their entire department? Wait a second who the fuck goes foot soaking with their entire department? I know my work peeps do!
If you do go to Ashiyu make sure you get a mini-pedicure so you can avoid people giving you some hardcore side eyes... granny feet are offensive.
The end.
