I have ear wax that builds up a lot, especially due to wearing hearing aids.
Putting in mineral oil, etc., and flushing does not work to remove the wax; I tried doing that for years. The only procedure that really works is the use of a suction device which is like a vacuum machine for the ears and only ENT physicians have those devices.
I looked around and read quite a few websites for ENTs and was impressed by Rancho ENT in Poway, run by Ashish Wadhwa, M.D.
He charged me $200 for an initial examination that included a hearing test, along with the suction procedure. I was impressed with his professionalism, including the front-desk receptionist, who was very nice and friendly as she juggled phone calls and visitors.
Once a patient pays the initial $200, they charge $50 for follow-up visits. I do not know of any other ENT physician who offers that. It is a bit of a drive to Poway for me, but I do not mind because of the savings for future visits. (I live in the San Diego community of San Carlos.)
They also take credit cards, which makes the initial payment somewhat easier if you do not have the cash or a check. -

I was seen as a new patient, the office staff was very friendly and I was taken in right away. The Dr. was very nice and addressed my issues. I would recommend this office. Also my appt. was originally 2 weeks out and i was put on the cancellation list, I was called later that same day and scheduled for the following day.
