My husband treated me to this wonderful tour for my birthday.  Neither one of us really knew what to expect, but I am seriously into food, so we went.  There were 12 people on the tour with us, plus Chris, our tour guide.  Everyone was super friendly and ready to have a great day.  We made a total of 8 stops, and each place was a delight.  We had amazing chocolate that was actually edible art; pizza, wine, and this basil and goat cheese fig wrapped in prosciutto that made me want to cry it was so delicious; Cajun food that tasted incredible; a pork quesadilla with fresh guacamole and pico de gallo; and a pecan tassie that was way better than anything my gramma used to make.  In addition, we learned about olive oil tasting and tried some fantastic balsamic vinegars; had yummy food at a very green and eco-friendly restaurant, and got to learn about all the ways they save energy and do good work (i found it fascinating, and it made me happy); and went to a sweet little tea and spice shop.  We were stuffed!  Plus, we made new friends and laughed throughout the tour.  Chris was a great tour guide, and offered lots of information about the city and landmarks.  I think if someone goes on this tour and does not leave well-fed and happy, they have a problem.  I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Asheville area!

I was headed to Asheville for a conference and booked this food tour for the day I arrived.  This proved to not be the best idea - my connecting flight was delayed and I ended up being 1/2 hr late to the tour.  The owner, Chris, was great and called me on my cell to direct me where to meet up with the group. I ended up only missing one stop on the tour and jumped right in.  Chris is very knowledgeable about the Asheville food scene (a former B&B owner) and took his time explaining the history of the city to us, which was a nice touch for a tourist like me.  We visited multiple places, including a chocolate shop, Italian restaurant, gourmet chip shop, tapas restaurant, pizzeria and brewery, and spice store.  Each spot had a special setup for the tour group to sample, and I was full 3/4 of the way though the tour.   At the end, we each got a "passport" that would allow us to patronize the spots on the tour route at a discounted price.  I thoroughly the tour and highly recommend it!

An afternoon walking tour of a half-dozen or more local establishments, including restaurants, delis, candy stores, and other foodie shops.  Tour guide Chris is affable and knowledgeable about the Asheville food scene.  Count the tour as a sizable late lunch.  There are multiple tour plans, and the establishments change over time, but ours included a good mix of sweet, savory, meat, seafood, starch, and booze.  If you're visiting Asheville, I recommend taking this tour early in your visit, to get the low-down on some good local dining.

Great tour!  Good selection of different types of eateries and culinary spots.  Enjoyed the stroll through Asheville filled with great treats and interesting history.
