I was a little hesitant to try Asha because the mixed reviews I'd heard, but when my normal salon couldn't accommodate my last minute appointment Asha was very accommodating and got me in right away. When I got there the receptionist was extremely nice and welcoming; in fact I think the customer service was the best part about my whole salon experience there.

I had my color and my cut done by two different stylists, which I didn't particularly care for, but I guess is a typical practice there. The appointment felt disconnected, but they did get me in last minute so maybe that's all that was available. I did however, get "forgotten" at the shampoo area for about 20min before someone finally came and got me to switch me from the colorist to the stylist. And believe me, your neck gets a little stiff from those shampoo sinks after a while.

I will say I liked the cut I got much more than my color. The color turned out a bit light for my taste.  I really thought the stylist who cut my hair listened to what I had to say about what I wanted and did her best to give me exactly that.

My experience at Asha was... ok. I wouldn't have a problem going back, but it's nothing I'd switch salons for.

Asha has excellent customer service.  I agree with Rikka, the front desk is always courteous and accommodating. I love the cucumber water and pinenut/dried fruits they have set out, so yummy!  The neck pillows feel and smell great too!

As for services, I will never get my haircut at Asha again. I have had it done twice there, by two different stylists, and it was a nightmare each time. Both days they were overbooked which meant LONG wait times (over 30 minutes with an appointment is unacceptable in my book).
One stylist proceeded to tell me how "shitty" she was from going out the night before, nothing about her work was professional. And the haircut was lazy & lousy.

However, the nails and massage services are outstanding! Samantha does a  fabulous job and really makes you feel relaxed.
I have had massages all over the country, and by far, Charlie at Asha is the best I've had. She is amazing with deep-tissue pressure.

Everything about Asha is excellent, except the hair department.

This might be the poshest salon/spa in Rockford but the staff is still nice and un-snooty. I had Trisha cut my hair and she did a fantastic job and was friendly and talkative. And she wasn't all talk, I really did feel pretty afterward (and, mind you, I was post-call so it's pretty much a miracle to feel pretty after 24 hours on call).

Trisha even told me all the products she used in my hair and gave me great tips for growing my hair out. She didn't give me any pressure to buy the products at all, but I did anyway because my hair looked so fantastic.

The only problem: they aren't able to add tips on a credit card payment so make sure you bring cash so you don't end up being "that douche who doesn't tip." Also, there's a Chase atm in the Walgreens nearby in case you still forget.

I went to Asha just once before booking my wedding services there.  Cassandra is an EXCELLENT, friendly stylist. She did a great job on the haircut I had gone in for.  I just had to have her do my wedding hair!  It was January, but I booked hair and nails for August.  I asked about cost, was told the price, and wrote it all down in my wedding binder.

Fast forward to the beginning of June.  Things are coming together for the wedding.  I called to book my bridal party at Asha.  All of the girls wanted updo's, some nails.  We had it all set up until I asked about price. They had quoted $55 for my bridal hair; maybe bridesmaids would be less?  WRONG.  $75.  When I asked why it was so much more expensive than my updo, she said that mine was $75 too!  Their prices had apparently gone up since January, but they wouldn't honor the price they had originally quoted me.  To be fair, the employee did tell me she would ASK my stylist if she would do my updo for $55 (because a $20 pay cut would really make her want to do a good job), but what about my bridesmaids?

To top it all off, their website still said $55 for wedding day hair when I was trying to book my bridesmaids.  The woman I was dealing with said that the prices were "starting at" $55.  Um, no.  The website didn't say starting at.  I checked right then.  So they advertised one price, and I book and have to pay a higher price?   It's a good thing I even called to book my bridal party, or I would have been blindsided by the increase on my wedding day!

Two months before my Saturday, August wedding, and I had to change salons (a challenge, for sure).  Brides beware.  Customer satisfaction is apparently not a priority here.  At least get everything in writing when you book!

Went for a haircut, come home with a cut earlobe. Had to pay the full $210 dollars to boot! Wont go back. I agree with the other gal, customer service is not a priority here.
