I have to make an update. I did not return to Asha for several years because of the several terrible experiences I posted in my first review . Last year (3yrs after my initial review) a manager privately messaged me and offered a service, apology etc etc. I didn't take the offer but respected the effort, it seemed someone was on top of their game over there finally. A couple emails later I finally did go back and gave it a try. I had a no chip with Theresa that lasted over two weeks and today went for an Aqua Polish - that was nothing short of awesome. So I am going to tip toe my way back there since the products are great and the facility so pleasant. Now that is seems its got the management in place i'm in!
If you have never gotten the Aqua Polish do your self a favor and get it- forget the hydrating massage seriously the scrub exfoliates- steam shower and ends with a full body hydration. Amanda did my service and I would request her next time.

Earlier this week, I came here in the midst of a pretty horrible day, hoping that a mani/pedi would let me chill out and breathe a little bit.  Unfortunately, that didn't really happen.

My nail tech was super, super talkative.  I understand that part of working at a salon/spa is chatting up your clients, but sometimes your client just wants to relax - like when she sits down at the pedicure station and pulls her book out as a giant hint.  But some people are just super chatty no matter the circumstances, so I painfully made do with the situation.

The quality of my pedicure itself was pretty great, and the tech did exactly as requested.  The manicure felt a little rushed. Some of my finger nails were filed crooked and it drove me so bonkers that I removed the polish only 2 days after so I could fix the shape of my nails.

I awarded 3 stars because the front desk staff were incredibly nice, and I think that counts for a lot at places like this.  So I may return, but would certainly request a different nail tech.

I know you can't please everyone - my sister works at a high end spa, and I think people can expect the world from places like this.  I just wanted a little peace and relaxation.

I came to Asha for a hydrating manicure and pedicure.  For the price, I cannot say that I was all that impressed with the services I received.  My experience wasn't horrible, just not something I'd be too quick to return to.

For both the pedicure and manicure, there was very little massage involved, so the experience was not as relaxing as I would have hoped.  My manicure chipped in 4 days, even though I put topcoat over the polish on day 2.  Also, the side of my left big toe has been pretty sore.  All I could figure is that it was over buffed.

I love the look of the inside of this place.  It's so clean and sleek.  I was hoping for a much better experience since this spa is within walking distance of my house, and I've been searching for a location to get my nails done at regularly.  My search continues!

My sorority alumnae group enjoyed a private mani/pedi party here. We had the back area of the salon to ourselves and were able to bring in wine and appetizers to enjoy.

I enjoyed a top-notch spa pedicure with OPI polish. My technician was professional and personable and was never rough with my feet (a big pet peeve of mine). I'm not sure that my "little piggies" have ever felt so pampered!

I would have given this location five stars, but several of us had a problem upon checking out with getting the rate that we had been promised. Everything was worked out, but it was still a hassle.

Have been there 2x now for a pedicure with a friend. The first time was a bust and the mgr wanted us to "give them another try" and offered us 2 free pedicures next time. 2nd x was equally as bad.  For such an upscale beautiful salon with very upscale pricing, the pedicurists are very young with clearly no training or experience what so ever!!  We saw 3 different people between our 2 visits and they were all terrible!  I will never return and never recommend them to others!  At bear minimum....if you can't keep the polish on the nail and off my cuticles, you should not be doing nails!

I don't know how to compare Asha with any other salon because I scheduled my 60 minute massage this morning and got in at noon,
and had the most relaxing experience!

I had a 85 dollar gift card which is exactly how much the massage cost. I got a lemon flavored water in greeting and after less than a minute was directed into the "spa area." It was beautiful. Peaceful, dark, and a nature type of ambiance. I got changed into a robe with slippers and locked my belongings up and proceeded to the waiting room. Less than a minute later I was introduced to Autumn, she was quiet and sweet. The massage was great! I was sooo relaxed and felt comfortable the whole time! I felt like a whole new person at the end.

My husband had given me two gift cards for here and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences.  I first had a prenatal pedicure.  It was a nice experience and even included a parafin treatment for my hands!  The only downside is that I didn't feel the pedicure tubs were particularly friendly for a pregnant woman.

I recently had my first facial ever at Asha, as well and loved it!  The spa area was beautiful and relaxing and the facial was a wonderful experience.  I would certainly go back!

Love this Asha salon!  The spa is fabulous!  I seem to compare all other spa's to this one...and none quite stack up!  It is dark and so relaxing!  The decor is divine both inside the spa area as well as in the main salon area.  I would love to have a little relaxation room like the spa waiting area at my own house, can't say enough good things!
I have had massages and waxing done at the spa and always been very pleased.  I am definitely a repeat customer!

They always run great promotions as well, so sign up for their emails and become a facebook fan!

I've been coming on and off for a variety of services (hair color, hair conditioning, scalp treatment, blowout, facial) since they opened.

The service quality varies between visits on all fronts: from the phone, front desk, and esthetician/stylist. The esthetician services on the spa side seem a little more consistent than on the hair/nails side.

Meanwhile hair services have varied from impassive to impatient, and am struggling to find hair service here that will keep me as a returning customer. Three of the times I've come for hair appointments (2 scalp treatments and 1 blowout) there was a scramble to find a stylist to help me several minutes after my appointment time went by. Last night I arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait 20 minutes after my appointment before a stylist came over--profusely apologetic of course.

The product line and services menu are spectacular, and if you sign up for their email newsletters you will undoubtedly enjoy amazing deals and heads up on special events.

I mostly come here now to purchase refills on my Aveda standby products, but will make a habit of coming back for the esthetician I found who I like very much.

They cannot add gratuity to the credit card/debit card payments, so bring extra cash.

This place is clean, sleek, well appointed, comfortable. Just wish the service level was consistent from one visit to the next.

Eehhh... the salon itself looks great! The November special was the best thing ever! 50% off any service... heck yeah!!! and then another 3 of the same service at half off as well.. even better!

My triple moisture massage was awesome! Inga (5 stars for you!!!) was great, and my body was truly moisturized and felt nice and smooth for quite some time.

BUT!!! when I called to make an appointment (sometime at the end of October), I made an appointment for a triple moisture massage, hydrating manicure, and hydrating pedicure... well.. they did have my massage scheduled for that Saturday morning, BUT somehow my manicure & pedicure were scheduled for the day before. And of course, Saturday morning is probably one of their busiest times, they could not "squeeze" me in for any of my hydrating treatments... i did get a pedicure that was mediocre... I can do that myself! and changed my nail polish on my hands. the polish started chipping off after a few days...

The only reason I will go back there is to see Inga...

The checkout took forever, they never apologized for the mess-up with scheduling... sucky customer service! I was expecting a nice relaxing day, and I left pissed off :(

This place just keeps going downhill..

Went back for another 1/2 off promotion. Came in 15 minutes early of what I thought was the start time of my massage. Somehow my massage was moved to 11:30 instead of 12. The woman at the front desk kinda was very sarcastic about how "I" had messed up the time, and that the "emails were automatic, and should have shown the right time." Wow, GREAT customer service huh!? After this little set back, fast forward to the massage.

My massage with Adrian was definitely worthy of a 5 star review, but that's where it stops. I opted for the hydrotherm massage. It was really an hour of bliss! Adrian was awesome, and really knew what he was doing. I loved this part of my experience!

Then comes the crap...I moved on to a pedicure. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH A PEDICURE FROM HERE. Basically, all i got was a polish change, and a foot soak. We paid for the peppermint pedicure. It was supposed to give us hot chocolate and the sorts. What we got was instant cocoa that wasn't even fully dissolved into a cold glass of water. BLECH. Not to mention that the two girls doing the pedicures had the personality of a wall that was drying paint. The younger girl (I think her name was Mary) kept complaining about how much "stuff" she had to do, and why didn't she ask for Christmas eve off. Wow, I'm sorry that I treated my mom to a day at the spa, only to get this whiny, complaining girl to wait on us.

Over all, I was right. This place is in SERIOUS need of a staff overhaul. Train these people RIGHT and let them know the importance of customer satisfaction. If they don't want to provide excellent customer service, get rid of them.

I'm a long time Asha fan since the original opened in Schaumburg a while back.  I still go to Schaumburg for my haircuts, but I've been frequenting the Lombard location quite a bit this year because of the AMAZING sales they have been having lately!

Friend them on Facebook and you'll be updated to their almost daily sales on multiple services every week.  Often you can get certain services for 50% off!!  I can't thank them enough for doing this because it enables me to go to my favorite spa for things like massages, pedicures, and facials when otherwise I wouldn't be able to.

The space is lovely.  Easy parking.  If you like Aveda products you'll be in heaven.  The spa area is so peaceful I want to take a nap every time I go.

Kristen is great for pedicures.  Amy is great for color.  Carly is great for eyebrows.  Amanda gives a nice facial.  But really, everybody there is pretty...well, great?  :)

I hope these sales never end!

I had a great manicure here, and a decent makeup consultation. Staff is friendly and the salon has a generally calm feeling--there wasn't a lot going on the days I was there. Will revisit this review once I try more services.

Boo! I stopped in to book a manicure but was told they had nothing available within the next 4 weeks. Nothing on any day, at any time of day, for 4 solid weeks in a salon that's set up to handle AT LEAST half a dozen clients at a time. Sorry, but I call bullshit. Also, the receptionists (yes, that's "receptionists" plural) had WAY too much attitude for a salon in a suburban shopping mall. In conclusion, Asha SalonSpa can bite me.

I have tried many services at Asha and have been happy with them all.  My "usuals" are cut, highlights, and brow wax, and I always leave happy.  Deb does a great job on color.  I also like little things that make Asha unique.  The chairs you sit in to wash your hair recline all the way back and are so comfortable.  In the spa, the beds are heated which love especially in the winter.  I also have splurged on a massage, and the heated bed was heaven.  I also should add that I love the smell of Aveda products so I always feel relaxed when I walk in.  Throw in a convenient location, and I always find myself back here.

I had been working a boatload and dreaming about getting a massage.  I decided to depart from my usual 60 min Swedish and try out the Chakra.  It was such a refreshing change!  I don't know if my energies were balanced that day but my mind stayed still all evening and I had the best night's sleep.  She even did a little extra neck and scalp work - which I love and asked if she could squeeze in.  I'm not going to lie, if you have some serious knots this is not your massage.  However, if you're just looking to "get out the bad" this one is perfect.  I went in the evening on Sunday and the Salon half was not very busy and the Spa was soooo quiet and dark.  It was some great downtime.

My facial (i can't remember her name) was eally good. I'm a serious Aveda addict and i pretty much love anything they make. I didn't feel rushed at all and the experiece was great.

Now on to my pedicure!! What a let DOWN! I felt completely rushed. The tech who did my nail was really rushing like a crackhead and it was not a relaxing experience at all like i had hoped. I won't blame it completely on her, I believe the spa doesn't allow enough time between clients.

I went back just yesterday and had a mani with Latrice who is still excellent! I'll continue to go back, as long as i can have her do my nails.

This was my first experience at Asha SalonSpa.  I was warmly greeted by the receptionists and offered some cucumber water, lemon water, or tea, and also a warm hotpack for my shoulders.  Soon after, I was greeted by my hair stylist, Diana.  She sat me in her chair and asked me what I wanted done, and she executed everything I wanted perfectly.  I told her I've been trying to grow out my hair and I wanted the minimal amount cut, and she cleaned up my ends and kept most of my length. I am very picky about the way my bangs are cut, and I have never been more satisfied with the way she cut my bangs!

I had a woman who was more interested in how I got her name than doing a good job on my hair.  She cut it MUCH shorter than I asked for, and on my side-swept bangs she did not blend them in!  It was choppy, and stuck out like a sore thumb.  I know I have thick Asian hair, but c'mon this woman said she'd been cutting hair for a decade, she shouldn't have half assed it.  Not going there again.

I am a hair salon snob when it comes to my naturally curly hair (yay for all my curly girls!).  I started going to this Asha in December of last year and met my stylist Taylor.  She's awesome! And she's a pro at blowing out your hair straight.  I always get and strongly recommend the botanical scalp and hair deep condition treatment its fab for those who have dry damaged hair and you get a nice scalp massage too.  The salon itself is very chic and clean.  When you check-in they bring you to the sitting area and offer you their amazing hot tea (naturally sweet!) or water.  They also put a warm heavy neck pillow on you which feels soothing but looks awkward...hehe. I would highly recommend this salon over streets of woodfield's Asha.

This place gets four stars for hair. Actually my hair colorist gets five stars because my highlights have never looked better. I started coming to this Asha because of the 50% off deal they ran last fall/this spring. I mostly used it for mani/pedi sessions and massages. I'll stick to the Schaumburg location for my nails and massages from now on, nothing too negative to say, really, just closer to home. I will continue to drive down to Lombard for my hair appointments. I would give them a five star review over all but I have had a few appointment making glitches (someone's double booked most often and generally with nails and massages) that keeps them out of the top review.
I have had three haircuts here and three different stylists. I do hope that the one I had yesterday sticks around because she is fabulous and did an amazing job of making my hair much more flow-y! I'll have to have a hair cut or two more with her to say "five stars!" but she is a very solid four stars given yesterday's experience.
They could maybe use a few more "trashy tabloids" to peruse, as I like to take a real mental break when I go to a spa for any treatment--I can read Vanity Fair at home! ;)
Hope Yelpers' experiences continue to improve because my highlights are freakin' awesome!

The salon and spa are very nice the prices seem pretty fair. I went in for a 60 min massage which was awesome! You ask why only 3 stars? pretty much everyone else I came in contact with were completely rude and didn't seem like they had a clue what they were doing. I walked in and was not greeted at all just stared at by 4 receptionist not one said hello. I told them who I was and It took them a while to find my appointment and they all seemed very confused as they gave me dirty looks. I explained it was my first time so one of the receptionist brought me back to the spa area. Again not very friendly and couldn't comprehend this was my first time I had to ask her several different questions and each reply was pretty rude. My massage with Evelyn was wonderful one of the best I have had. Evelyn was great not at all rude and seemed to actually care about my experience. After I was all finished I went to check out yet again not greeted just kinda gawked at like I was from another planet. One of the 4 receptionists took my money never said a word other than please sign here. Not a thank you NOTHING! Also didnt explain how to leave a tip absolutely nothing. I stood there writing out the envelope and the entire time ALL 4 stood there and starred at me it was bizarre what is with these girls? Seriously my dog has more personality.  I would only go back to see Evelyn that's it I really may not even do that I cant spend my money at a place where they obviously could care less about customer service.
