RIP Asha, you were hope for the caffiene-addicts in the area and yogurt lovers alike.
I knew thee well, and am deeply disappointed that you are gone. I still have cravings.
I can't begin to express the disgust I feel when I tried Squeeze & Scoop today and sampled the strawberry and the mango, another lady there sampling asked what I thought and told her that the mango was dry and the strawberry was bitter. She agreed and told us that everythng was bitter and that she wasn't going to get anything.
Its Valentine's Day and you weren't there so I'm gonna express my love on Yelp. My boyfriend and I ended up foregoing dessert because you weren't there. :( -

Only in Southern California will someone be walking for two measly blocks in the middle of Winter and be sweatin' like a Britney. And by "someone" I mean me. And by "sweatin' " I mean a dewy glistening. And by "Britney" I mean *oink*!
It was such a beautiful day today that after I scarfed down my lunch, I decided to take a stroll into Old Town Pasadena. By the time I reached Pasadena Avenue I had realized I needed some way to cool and walked into Asha.
Clean, spacious and modern decor inside with signs every where letting you know there's free wifi. Good to know.
The yogurt itself is nothing special and left a residue of powdery aftertaste. They offer smoothies and when it came to yogurt there was green tea and plain. The plain was then offered in two different variations: Creamy and Icy. The Creamy had more of the powdered taste than the Icy one so I bought a small Icy with some pineapple. Total = $3.40. After a few bites I realized how much I didn't like it and finished the pineapple topping and tossed the rest.
Next time I will just have to walk the extra two blocks to Pinkberry on Fair Oaks and put up with exuding the super sexiness of a dewy, glistening glow from the warm Winter's day... by sweating like a pig.

Let me preface this by saying that I hate Pinkberry and I'm a 21 Choices kind of girl. That being said, I think Cantaloop is pretty decent and better than PB. But I'm willing to give a kid a try so I parked when I saw the grand opening sign for Asha.
Asha is in a very strange place on Green and not really "walk in" friendly....I wouldn't be surprised if it went under because as others have mentioned, it was DEAD. However, it was clean and they were playing some dope house music.
They offer two types of base yogurt. Sweet and tangy. I tried them both and, um, they tasted the same. So I said give me tangy with blueberries and chocolate chips. It was pretty good, much better than PB and cheaper too.
If you happen off the Colorado main drag and find yourself in front of Asha on a warm summer day, give it a try. -

For all you yogurt snobs, I found this place just walking around Old Town on Green St., the yogurt is really icy, sweet, and tart. I personally think their yogurt tastes better than Pinkberry's (with live culture, I don't think Pinkberry does), they give you larger portions as well.
The staff is really nice and I just love the interior, I actually noticed the furnishing first before I realized that it was a yogurt store. The interior is beautiful and modern with lots of seating, there's a semi-private room for yogurt parties if you ever wanted to have one, and best of all FREE-WIFI.
Since I have no patience for lines, I would much rather take 10 minutes to walk here rather than wait in line FOREVER at Pinkberry or 21. I just wish it was at a closer location to Old Town, I pretty much found it by accident with my girlfriend, it's not that visible because it's almost at the end of a one way street. You'll be lucky if you can find it, but if you do...congrats you've beaten the yogurt mobs! -

So it's Saturday night and we're driving around looking for dessert after a delicious meal at Roscoe's C&W. As we cruised down Colorado Blvd. and passed 21 Choices there were about a bazillion people in line! So we drove down to Green Street and noticed a brightly lit Asha Frozen Delights storefront and decided to try it out, despite the fact that it was completely empty. I think it was the modern decor that drew us in...I know, we're sooo shallow right?!
The man behind the counter was nice and courteous and explained that there were 2 choices: creamy (Red Mango-like) or tart (Pinkberry-like) yogurt. The three of us opted for the creamier yogurt. They had a decent variety of toppings, much like RM & PB. I ordered a small original with mango and strawberries. Overall, the yogurt was creamy and similar to Red Mango's, but sweeter, which I enjoyed. I would definitely come back if I were in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to get it though.
You can tell a lot about a place from their restroom, that's why I checked it out before even taking a bite of my yogurt. If you decide to go, don't forget to check out the restroom sink, it's sooo cool. Or maybe I think it's cool b/c I don't get out much. *sigh* -

This is what I call a hidden treasure here in Old Town Pasadena. Hidden on Green, it was definitely a refreshing change of pace to the annoyances of the usual spectacle that is scene on Colorado.
Asha has of course yogurt- which comes in a creamy version and a sour version. I enjoyed the sour version a bit more.
They also offer Japanese cake ala mode with yogurt.
They also have other desserts such as Korean Shaved Ice that comes with soft ice, sweet azuki red beans, mochi rice cakes and your choice of 2 other toppings.
They also have coffee that is slow dripped.
They also have free wifi
They also have a random back room where you can have private parties and deep share with a loved one.
They also offer discounts to Art Center students.
OK that's all. -

I really like the yogurt here. First, I love pinkberry (sometimes) when I'm in the mood for something with more fat that is more tarty. I think the people that like the yogurt here tend to be people who think pinkberry is too tart and are used to the taste of non-fat stuff.
I like that ASHA is here because it provides more variety and alternative to the other yogurt varieties (and not always get stuck in the pinkberry trap!). I think the place can use much better PR and advertising. Perhaps they need to hire better people or a better strategy to market their yogurt. But that's besides the point.
I give only 3 stars because 1 star off for some of the fruit not being as fresh as it can be (probably because of the low-turnover), and 1 star off for the whole advertising campaign and it creating a very deserted creepy environment. I would like to mention that people behind the counter were very accomodating to requests like if I want to sample, or try different fruits and what not.
Bottom-line: if you think pinkberry is too tart, you might want to give this place a try. I think it might be good and keep the variety of yogurts going in Old Town Pasadena. -

Asha is now closed! I guess we all knew it was coming - not enough foot traffic in this location....

I had PB last night, because I had visitors from out of town that wanted to try it out. I told them about Asha, and how I liked it a lot more than PB. The following evening we took them to Asha. They agreed that Asha had a better tasting frozen delight. Those that like the PB type would enjoy Asha's creamy delight. I prefer the more tart and icy texture that Asha offers. I go to this place at least once a week. I enjoy the ambiance, and I like how I can enjoy my frozen delight without having to fall into a long... line, and afterwards having to stand while eating. It's nice to be able to sit in a private room with a small group of people, on the long couch, chairs, or bar stool type chairs. At least I can enjoy my frozen delight while I'm comfortably sitting down.

I think this is really great quality yogurt (fat free, fresh, sugar free) and live culture (i.e., REAL yogurt). Their fruit is really fresh and the smoothies are great. They have both a tart and sweeter vanilla flavor as well as green tea. I have not been bowled over by Pinkberry and Cefior is a bit better, but Asha's product is REALLY good. They have a unforunate location, and the store front is hip but gives no indication what kind of place it is. (I knew where it was and still walked by thinking it was a nail salon).

i liked it... i don't know why everyone else doesn't. First off, I tried pinkberry AND red mango. Both are great. Now I try Asha, and I think it's great TOO. The thing that i like about Asha is you can taste how fat free and organic the yogurt is. I'm the type that buys organic everything at the grocery store... and I've developed a taste where I can tell products with artificial ingredients and those with all natural no artificial anything. ASHA is like that.. it just tastes fresh. I personally like the original. The green tea is just sour to me. Comparing Asha to red mango, red mango has the BEST green tea. Pinkberry's plain is very tart compared to Red Mango and Asha. I personally think Pinkberry's green tea to be okay but kinda powdery, not as good as Red Mango, but better than Asha. If you like the super tart-ness of pinkberry's original, then you probably won't like Asha. But if you think Pinkberry's original is too tart, and you value all natural ingredients (plus i feel it has way less fat, i don't feel fat and full of gunky calories after eating ASHA's yogurt [i feel fatter eating pinkberry's though pinkberry tends to have fresher toppings, though's ASHA's are decent and not spoiled]), then Asha is definitely worth a try. They are all the way at the edge of old town so it's easier to find parking, plus it's on the beautiful tree-lined Green Street. I love that they have free wifi, and the interior is WAY BETTER decorated and MUCH MORE comfortable than pinkberry. (sorry, pinkberry's plastic furniture is really starting to get on my nerves! this place has leather cushions and wood panelling with modern sleek glass, and some private rooms). Definitely WORTH A TRY for the yogurt connoisseurs (hope I spelled that right) looking for another take on the upscale yogurt. Oh a side note, the bathroom is really nice and it has THE MOST UNIQUE FAUCET, i swear it is just indescribable. It could be a conversation piece. This place is definitely great for a cute little gathering for dessert with a healthy-twist. Looks empty now as it just opened, but hoping people discover this place so it'll stay in business and I can continue eating the fresh yogurt and using the FREE WIFI!!!!! (for those into the super-upscale trendy fresh not too sweet, not too tangy yogurt with prices comparable to pinkberry and red mango) cheers :-)
