Ascot staffing is hands down the best staffing agency I've ever worked for. Don & Peggy are great! They are very understanding to your skills when matching you with jobs and very much so advocates for their employees. They put me to work within 24 hours of joining the Ascot team with a great paying temp position and when that one ended they were diligent in getting me more work & interviews! I referred a friend to them and within 2 days she had an interview and started working full time the following week. This is as good as it gets! Go Ascot Staffing!

If there was a zero star category, I would use that. I am in need of temporary work and was pleased to see all the positive reviews for this business, especially the comments about their working with people and taking their skills into account to place them. So I submitted my resumes.
When I followed up with a phone call, the snippy young lady informed me that they couldn't even register me as my resume didn't list a clerical assistant or executive assistant as my most recent position.
No, it didn't. Because while I have done a lot of work in simple clerical positions, can type fast, and am entirely capable of answering phones, filing, taking messages, scheduling appointments, and pretty much anything that needs to be done in a business, and am happy to do that kind of work, I have done quite a lot of things in the last 25 years that don't fit the job title of clerical assistant or executive assistant. Like found a company and run it for ten years. Like publish two novels with Penguin. Like have more than 20 years of freelance experience summarizing deposition transcripts for attorneys - meticulous and demanding work requiring an understanding of testimony that is frequently complex and technical. Like research and write copy, find and interview subjects for, and coordinate production of documentary film work. Like edit, proofread, fact check, and/or copy edit a lot of different kinds of written material. in many genres
If I had just graduated from high school and had worked as a secretary for six months, these bimbos would register me. But since I have an enormous amount of work experience that includes but is not limited to secretarial work, they won't even consider me.
Oh, and then she hung up on me. Real class and professionalism.
When I am next in a position to be hiring employees, I certainly won't be using this outfit.
And fortunately, another thing I know how to do is use social media. So I've just Tweeted this review (which also posts it on LinkedIn) and posted it on Facebook. Have a nice day, Ascot. -

Ascot Staffing in San Ramon is absolutely wonderful. They were professional and extremely helpful! I found myself being unemployed at the ripe age of 50 and pondering what to do next. I told them that I really wanted to work for Kaiser Hospital and they placed me in several temporary assignments within the Kaiser System. On my third assignment, I was hired on permanently. Kudos to them for placing me on the temp jobs! I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for them. Thank you Penny, Nadine and the entire group there in san Ramon!

I agree: Ascot rocks!
I came to Ascot Staffing feeling jaded from other agencies and from looking for jobs on my own. My interview with them was the best I've ever had because they immediately put me at ease and I felt a strong sense of commitment from them. I guess they liked me too because they asked me to temp for their receptionist (Sue) when she was on vacation. I feel like I really got to know everyone in the Ascot office. They were so kind to me: they helped me when they were busy and treated me like I had worked there forever. Even the owner (Dede) wanted to get to know me! I've recently found a permanent job and I will definitely miss working through them.
The career counselors (Audrey, Sally, Evy, and Barbara) really care for their temps. I remember them saying "She/he is perfect for this job!" when they found a match between a client company and a temp. They are genuinely enthusiastic when they find work for someone!! I've never, ever gotten that impression from another temp agency I've worked with. Also, they give you all of the info that you need on the job. Some temp agencies I've worked with have left me high and dry when it comes to directions to a job site, work hours, and dress code, but not Ascot. That's some more evidence that Ascot rocks!!
If you are looking for admin or other office work, call Ascot! They have a lot of admin and clerical jobs at Kaiser, but are also popular with many other East Bay companies.
Ascot is an incredibly supportive and smart company that is committed to their clients. Almost every member of the staff has worked there at least 10 years, that says a lot! Obviously, I've had a great experience with Ascot and think that other Yelpers will too because we are a smart and talented bunch. -

In a desperate attempt to get out of my career rut, I called to schedule a sit down consultation. The process had me there for a few hours, but only because they are thorough. Sue, office manager, was great. Super friendly and helpful. Peggy, recruiter, was so easy to talk to and empathetic to my situation. Even though she wasn't able to help me with my current situation, Peggy was quick to offer all the possibilities she could think of. She even offered to call another staffing agency that she had a contact at. That's what I call service!!!!
I'm so happy I stopped by. They really helped subdue my drowning feeling and made me realize I had other options.
THANK YOU ASCOT!!! I will be forever grateful. -

Agreed and Agreed, Ascot is very good at what they do! Professional, helpful and they see the big picture.
It took them awhile to place me, but when they did, it was a very good fit! I only wish I was still in that neck of the woods or that Ascot was on the Peninsula.

I love Ascot Staffing. They are a great agency. I had been working with several other agencies in the Bay Area to find a job, including Office Team who treated me terribly, for almost three months and they found nothing for me. The second day after signing up with Ascot they found me a wonderful placement with Kaiser Permanente. I can't say enough about how well the Ascot Staffing team treated me, and I highly recommend this agency for anyone looking for a job and looking to be treated with genuine kindness and sincerity in looking for your best interests in finding a job. I manage an office of about 100 people. We regularly have need of temporary help and my FIRST go-to is Ascot. The personnel that they have referred to me have always been topnotch and the Ascot staff is very helpful. I, particularly, appreciate the fact that every Ascot staffer that I've dealt with from Audry to now, Evy, has been very careful to listen to what I was saying, so that the person they sent "fit-the-bill" exactly.

I've had a position there or two where it was hard to fit in, but they're pretty good for a staffing agency, especially during this recession. I've been temping for them through my senior year at college and they've always found me a position, whether full-time or part-time. They've also still worked with me when positions didn't work out for me. Definitely check them out, although I would recommend dropping your resume off in person. I also think they deal strictly in administrative support although I'm not 100% sure. However, they're still one of the better, if not the best, staffing agency in the East Bay.
