I'm reviewing a retirement home... in my "early" twenties.
It's not her beloved South, and she may be "stuck up here with all the Yankees," but as far as retirement communities go, Asbury is very nice. The apartments are nicely appointed but still leave space for her antiques, and the staff is helpful and professional but still playful and friendly. They organize shopping and movie trips, have a lovely library and sitting area, and the dining hall is equally nice.
No golf course, but hey, she spent 30 years in Florida and never played once.
Specialties
Independent living, personal care, skilled nursing care and specialty memory support care services and accommodations are offered, as well as rehabilitation services. Oversight of medical care is through our Medical Director, a board certified and fellowship-trained geriatrician. Residents can continue to be treated by their own physicians, or can see our Physicans in the Health and Wellness Center, including on-site specialists: audiologist, opthalmologist, psychiatrist, dentists and chiropractor. A Fitness Center is staffed with personal trainers for group exercises or an individualized exercise program. A variety of activities are available to meet all social needs of residents. Chef prepared meals are available in three dining locations, and a registered dietician can provide individualized nutrition counseling.
