Asahi is running a promotion for 20% off to celebrate an anniversary. The menu is already reasonably priced and offers a great variety of items.

I was a bit overwhelmed with the selection of vegetable rolls and combinations. Then I was overwhelmed with the variety of crunchy tuna rolls. Previously I would only order their broccoli appetizer, seared tuna app, chicken skewer, gyoza, all which are tasty.

I am a bit new to sashimi and sushi so nearly everything is a new experience for me.

If there were other options in the area and my manager didn't like the place I'd definitely not be such a frequent customer here. The first time I went to Asahi I was really disappointed because the rice was warm and gooey. Don't they know a key to sushi is the rice? I've also tried the unagi don (eel over rice) and there was essentially no eel sauce over the eel- just a bunch of eel pieces over plain rice. Since then I"ve just stuck with sashimi and that has been okay.

The only good thing about this place is the mochi! Especially mango flavored. I'm sure they bought it from somewhere else but it's really delicious.

I love Asahi, I've been ordering their sushi lunch special (2 rolls, miso soup and salad for $5.95, or with 3 rolls for $7.95) for about 5 years now.  When I was pregnant with my little girl (who will turn 5 in June) I absolutely craved avocados 24/7, so sometimes I would order two of the lunch specials, with all avocado rolls, and eat one for lunch and one for dinner!

The owner is very sweet, she remembers her customers, to this day she still gives me gum for my older kids (even though they're 17 and 15 now).  Although I mostly do take-out, I have eaten in the restaurant several times, and I've found the service to be very quick.

    Best sushi around!

Customer service is great. I ordered two rolls: Philadelphia and Boston and both were goof. I don't know about their soy souse I didn't like it that much. I did get a free salad and soup. I will go there again if I need something quick, but would go for dinner because Asian Bistro in Willimantic  is still my favorite.

While the luncheon specials are/were a great deal for the budget minded individual, the sushi rolls here have gotten a few of my coworkers (including myself) queasy to the stomach numerous times. I would stay away from any raw fish product here. Unless you have a really strong stomach.
