My family and I all ate here the other night on a whim as it was getting late..too late to cook at home...although as long as it took to get out drinks and then to get our food we may as well have cooked at home. Our waiter admitted to being new which we didnt hold against him but the overall appearance of the food and the taste was mediocre at best. With all of the GREAT authentic Mexican restaurants available in such a close radius I expected more. Although if you just want some nachos and a quick beer it is close to home.

I can't believe what happened! I went before that and thought the food was great. The tortillas are fresh made. If you are luck you will sit by the area that they make them. The bad thing is the service. When you are there all waiters are personality free. They forget you are there and you wait for like 30 mins to get you're food. But overall the food is good. I recommend the Asados Chicken. Just so you know my dad is Tom W. !

My kids love it when I recount a scathing review of Asados that I read on Citysearch that talks about an incident where the manager chased a former employee into the parking lot, pimp slapped him, and then repeatedly slammed his leg in a car door.

That's some funny shit.

Anyway, there's apparently been a change in management since then :)

I've been here several times and the service has been somewhat spotty in the past.  However, the last two visits, the service has been spot on.

For our last visit, we came here for brunch on Mother's Day and the service was impeccable.  I think they may have been a bit overstaffed, because there were times where there were more people out on the floor working than there were customers.

The brunch was great.  Traditional breakfast buffet items, fresh fruit, tortilla soup, tacos, chimichangas, fajita fixin's, enchiladas.  My kid's favorite was the giant bowl of melted chocolate to dip fruit and marshmallows in.  It was pretty tasty.  My favorite was the free Mimosas.

Nothing gets rid of a hangover faster than sausage, fajitas, and Mimosas.

Anyway, their namesake dish is awesome.  The sour cream & chicken enchiladas are great too.

I tried Asados on a Thursday and was surprised to see the parking lot was packed.  It's on 78 in Sachse, just south of Woodbridge in a fairly empty new shopping center.  Word must travel fast because I don't think the lot was packed with curious people, it was packed for the food.

While the ambiance wasn't as elegant as some other restaurants in the area, the smell of the food as you walk in makes up for it.  After smelling food on the grill I decided to try a platter with smoked chicken, beef fajitas, and bacon wrapped shrimp.  It was fantastic!  the chicken was perfectly seasoned and the meat fell off the bone.  The beef fajitas were so tender they melted in my mouth.  The shrimp was a bit off, but I'm not a shrimp lover.

The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the queso, it had a velveta quality and I'm partial to chiuaua  queso.  They also didn't offer to bring out more chips and salsa when we were finished, which other restaurants in the area seem to refill every 2 minutes.  However, the manager did come to visit each table and ask how our food and service was.  It's always good to see the management staff take an interest.
