The time machine took me there!
Formal style Italian restaurant with a piano (dean, frank etc) and traditional fine Italian food.
The antipasto bar was excellent and the main courses were really good.
I thought the wine list was extensive and had some really good expensive wines to choose from.
I don't know what is! The food was good, the service was good, the wine was good, even the pianist was good.
Yet it was a bit sad. It was as though it had been the same since the 70's.
And it was quite expensive which might be why it was half empty.
So in summary, if you are from New York, take your mother there she'll love it. -

They made us wait two hours for our dinner, and when the meal finally did come out, only some people got their food... then we waited another 30 minutes for the rest. Horrible service, rude staff. We got a private room for my Grandfather's 80th birthday party and he ruined our night. Horrible horrible horrible.!!!!
the waiters badgered us over initial drinks and appetizers, when they weren't ignoring us, they were on top of us to order expensive, specialty drinks and over priced wines.
our waiter spilled a full glass of diet coke on my elderly great-aunt, and barely cleaned it up. we were over charged for coffee for everyone (only a few ordered) and it was difficult to remove this from our bill.
at the end of this unforgettably awful meal, we were approached by the owner of the restaurant, who said that the kitchen was busy, there's nothing we can do, and threw a $20 bill in our faces.
needless to say we will never return to this restaurant, and will tell all of my friends, family, co workers, acquaintances and anyone else who cares to listen to do the same!
BOOOO ARTURO"S!! -

Where do I begin...
For an 'upscale' restaurant, which I heard was going to be spectacular, I was absolutely blown away at how lousy this place was.
Starting with the snooty maitre d host who was anything but welcoming. As a group of 13 people some of whom were regulars there, one would assume the host would have gone out of his way to see that we had a great experience. Instead, I was served a large dish of attitude complimented with an audible sigh and roll of the eyes (!!) when I asked if he could come back to me for my order since I had not yet made a decision.
Next lets talk about the music. There was a lovely piano player singing Italian songs, however once he turned on his karaoke machine for accompaniment, it was so loud and distorted that not only was the baby grand piano lost amidst the cheesy drum beats and backing tracks, but his voice was totally distorting the little speaker and it sounded terrible. It was so loud that we could hardly talk to the person sitting across from one another. I politely asked the host if they could lower the music so we could hear the piano and so we could have conversation at the table. His response was quick and dismissive - 'No! that is up to the singer, not me!' ...wow
Nobody was excited about their food. The Bread was stale. The salad was pre-made, over-dressed, and the cucumbers were translucent and rubbery. The mushroom pasta was bland and over-cooked. There were a lot of unfinished plates left, an unusual site in this group. One comment from our table was, 'I couldn't put enough pepper on the dish to give it any flavor'.
I don't know if it was the food here, or from something else earlier in the day, but I ran to the bathroom and was sick twice (and I have a strong stomach). Needless to say, I couldn't get beyond the first few bites of my pasta, let alone on to the desserts.
To put the icing on the cake, as the bill arrived (bearing in mind at 13 people this was a big one), we were informed casually that they had added a $10/person charge to the bill for the 'band'! What?? an additional $130 from our table alone for music that we complained about? We were not informed about any music fees when we arrived, there was no sign posted, no tickets to buy, just a lousy karaoke pianist blaring through a small speaker so loud that it hurt to be in the room! This was the last straw, and after complaining, they made a phone call in the lobby (I know because I had to run to the bathroom one more time before leaving) and agreed to remove the $130 charge.
To be fair, maybe I we just caught a bad night at the restaurant. After all, the folks who suggested Arturo's have a long history of enjoyable meals there. I will not be returning for a second go at it though.
Sorry for the bad review, I hope it is helpful. -

As an Italian who loves to cook, I think this was very very disappointing (aside from the dessert). I had pappardelle with mushrooms. The mushrooms were overcooked and did not taste fresh. The sauce was watery and had little flavor with too much salt.
My friend had chicken scarpariello. It also looked like it had canned ingredients, and the chicken was dry.
The canneloni was tasty but a little salty and wasn't the best quality meat, especially considering the price. This place is definitely not worth the price. I've had much better italian for a lot cheaper. Also, our waiter was practically kicking us out at the end of the meal, and it wasn't even that late.
On a positive note, the flourless chocolate cake was delcious!! And, if you plan on going to Arturo's, skip the entree and get dessert.
p.s. I also ate here several years ago and saw 2 roaches crawling up the wall next to my table. -

This place is really spectacular. A "Boca Institution". Arturo's has all the trappings of a fine establishment transplanted from New York. Funny I should write that, their menu states that they originated in Long Island. I suppose they moved down here with all the other "snowbirds" who could not bear the bitter cold of the north but also could not stand the bitter taste of the local cuisine d' faire (no idea if that's a real statement, just thought it sounded good).
Make sure to try the mobile antipasto cart. Your waiter will wheel a giant cart filled with all kinds of little goodies, and make you a plate of antipasto to get your appetite going. Then, the craziness will commence where all our plates (three: my parents and myself) were superb. We ordered two desserts and they were likewise scrumptious. Arturo's definitely does not overdue the alcohol in the tiramisu, which is the downfall of so many mediocre restaurants.
Arturo's is Italian with a slant toward seafood. The restaurant has two (maybe more) rooms, one slightly fancier-seeming than the other which is reminiscent of a sun or day room. -

This is one one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. The service is impeccable & the food is close to none. You will not leave hungry. It is formal & expensive but well worth it.

Sure it is fun to sing with the Piano man and Francis Ford Coppola (He really was there) but the smell when you walk in is foul. It is a cross between Bourbon Street @ midnight on Fat Tuesday, and the Palm Beach water treatment plant. If you can get over the smell, your next task is to get past the maitre d' aka hostess guy. If you are not wearing what he likes, you will be banished to a far away table or the back room. I do like the food, and the population looks like the waiting room for heaven or hell (if you believe in that kind of stuff).
The dishes that are made at the table are great! I am a huge fan of the pasta that is made with cognac and the veal chop parm. The food is good, but the smell and snob at the door is tough to overcome. The food is a solid 8 1/2 / 10.
Helen Keller would give high nines but asking my friends to keep it down when we were the only people in the whole place gets you some jack ass points, and has definitely cost them one star. (They were not even that bad)
That kind of stuff bothers the heck out of me. When it is a special night out, and there is someone who pisses you off that makes the night memorable for the wrong reason. Your experience should not be altered negatively by the people running the show. If your looking for great Italian there are better cheaper places that will make you feel welcome.
Thats how I feel. I am not a fan. New ownership comes in, I am there. -

Stopped in for a late lunch will vacationing. It was truly a unique experience. The staff is excellent, as is the food. We started with the Anti Pasta cart, which was fantastic. I had the pasta carbonara, and my wife had the Alfredo special with scallops.
A lovely little jewel tucked away on Federal Hwy in Boca. -
Review from Karen F.
This old-school, special occaision restaurant is owned by a New York family and it is the real McCoy! The enormous steaks & chops, combined with a thick book of a wine list and botoxed rich widows listening to the crooning pianist, are all part of the charm.
We like to come here for birthdays and Anniversaries whenever we visit the blessed holy land of Boca Raton.
Oh - and bring a big appetite and big money.
