Best restaurant in Bergen County, by far.  I frequent this restaurant at least once every 2 - 4 weeks and have never met a dish I didn't like.  The lasagna, chicken parm, salmon special, gnocchi and cannoli cake are all the best I have ever had.

When you first enter Arturo's, you will be greeted by an elegant bar with friendly bartenders who pay close attention and are quick to refill your drinks.  I recommend sitting down to have a glass of wine even if there is no wait for a table.  Saturday nights can get pretty packed, but if you get there before 7:00, you should be able to sit immediately.

When you sit down at a table, you will be greeted by a very knowledgable and professional wait staff.  You are given bread, rice balls and also cheese and meat at no additional cost which is a plus considering my wife and I often get cheese as an appetizer at other restaurants (and pay for it) to go along with our wine.

This is not the type of restaurant you come to if you are in a rush to go somewhere else afterwards.  They will not rush you out of the restaurant, which is a major plus and is opposite the mindset of restaurants in the Ridgewood area.  I consider this a major plus since quite often dinner is our night out and we do not want to be rushed to be out in an hour.

The food is phenomenal.  I have been to Arturo's more than 50 times and have never been disappointed.  The only negative I have is that they have too many good dishes and I have a hard time deciding which of the meals I want on any given night.  The lasagna is excellent, the salmon tasty, the chicken parm is very thin and melts in your mouth.  And if you aren't stuffed after the meal, then I recommend getting a slice of cannoli cake, if there is any left!

All in all, you can not go wrong with Arturo's.  However, you should be prepared to pay a decent amount of money, especially if adding a bottle of wine to your meal.  Which reminds me, Arturo's has a superb selection of wines from different regions around the world with, not suprisingly, a strong emphasis on Italian wines.

So, to sum things up, go to Arturo's, prepare to spend some money, and ready yourself to enjoy money well spent.

Everything here falls into the category of pretty good except the food. I could make everything I ate here at home myself and it would be better. All the people who gave this a good review must have been the owner and his family.

Had dinner there last night with my best friend and her husband.  We got there early and sat at the bar waiting.  Great bar, top shelf vodka and was very surprised that they had my Snow Queen Vodka.  You cannot get it at many restaurants.  We had to wait for our table, but it's nice to know that in a time of recession when many people aren't going out, this place was full to capacity!!  They give you a very large bread basket, cheese and rice balls even before you start.  The rice balls are very good.  It is a very extensive menu, and you will not be rushed here!!
Eggplant appetizer, excellent.  As was the Caesar salad. I being a vegetarian was very impressed with the vegetarian offerings.  I had an amazing papparadella and shitake mushroom dish.  Just delicious.  My husband had the veal parm and my best friend and husband had a seafood dinner which looked great and he had the veal. They both said it was outstanding.  Leave room for dessert, they put out fresh fruit but the tartufo and cannoli is just so good.  You really won't be disappointed.  The staff is very friendly and so so accomodating!!

I have been to this place probably four times over a few years, but need to start going more often. I have to say this is easily one of the best restaurants in Northern, NJ by far. The entire staff is super friendly and accomidating. The food is absolutely, unbelievable delicious. They have a very vast menu and many daily specials. Our waiter was extremely nice and informative and brought us out extra appetizers to try which was sweet. They have an awesome full bar and great wine options. I have been to several Italian restaurants in both Passaic and Bergen county and this is prob within my top 2 if not #1. It is a bit expensive, but well worth it. Also, the restaurant is decorated nicely with alot of really interesting oil paintings, it's very pretty!

I wouldn't say this is the best Italian restaurant in Bergen County because it definitely is not, by far. They do however have decent service, and we walked in on a Tuesday night with 4 people and were seated right away.

I have only been here one other time about 4 years ago and decided to give it a try again, as the good old standby, Savini's in Allendale is definitely on the decline.

Before we even ordered we had a complimentary bread basket of the best bread I have ever had at an Italian restaurant. Most places serve traditional crusty bread, but this bread was warm and soft all around with the best sweet butter. We also received a small rice ball for everyone at the table and a plate of soppresata and provolone to share. That was before we even ordered!

    The food:
Fresh house made mozzarella w. house made roasted red peppers & prosciutto: probably should have gone for the buffalo as the mozzarella wasn't super impressive, although the peppers were excellent

lasagna bolognese: listed as a house specialty: lacked depth and flavor, too many noodles not enough good stuff

    gnocchi gratin: excellent

    cheesecake for dessert: excellent

*we also received complimentary fruit platter for dessert

I love Arturo's. From the bar which is superb to the great food and friendly service. The menu is huge and I've tried a bunch of offerings including various types of chicken and pasta. The reason I go back though, is the dessert. I love the cannolis and the cannoli cake they make on premises, it is unlike anything else on earth... seriously... I am Italian and I'm very picky of my Italian food and this is definitely a favorite. I hope to go back here again sometime soon. Awesome spot for a date btw...

Went to Arturo's for our anniversary. It was wonderful!! They don't rush you. The food was wonderful.  Our service was very kind and "non-pressuing", the menu was very big with a lot of (great) choices...The bartenders were very friendly as well as all the staff members.  I would highly recommend this place for a nice night out.  Enjoy!

I have gone to arturos 4 times this year, the two times in the dining room were pleasant experiences, and the food was delicious. The know it all  flamboyant waiter we had was a little annoying when we were trying to enjoy each others company, but overall good food and a little bit pricy.
The other 2 times i sat at the bar and will never return.  The crabby bartender made me feel like it was a problem that we sat down, he waited at least 10 minutes before even greeting us both times.  The first time i went with a girlfriend for a martini, and when he finally helped us, he wanted us out as soon as possible, dropping the check before he dropped the martinis.... the second time i came in with my boyfriend, again taking his time coming to greet us.  For the fact that we are spending NYC prices in Midland Park, i would like to be treated a little bit better than the way this bartender treats customers who come in without the furs and bling.

This is a terrific, upscale, beautiful restaurant.  Excellent service, the staff take pride in their service.  Tremendous antipasto, also loved the homemade rice balls.  Staff enjoys making recommendations.  I have been here about 10 times over the last 8 years and have never been disappointed.  A bit on the pricey side, but worth every penny.  Also try the homemade pastas! Terrific wine list too.  One of my favorite Italian restaurants in North Jersey (and i've been to most).
