I found Artistic Edge Art & Framing on Yelp and went to see them to strecth a canvas for me. Not only are they extremly nice and a pleasure to do business with they did an amazing job on my canvas for a very reasonable price. They pay close attention to detail and even called to make sure I was okay with a certain part of my canvas not being seen before they just did the work. I have found my Framing shop for all my future needs.

I used to go to a place down in Seal Beach to get all of my framing done, but they had gone out of business so I used yelp to help me find a new place to get art framed. Yelpers, you have let me down.
First off, the place was a mess when I walked in, which should've told me something about how the operation was run. There are frame samples everywhere, it's totally unorganized, and there are just pieces that have been framed lying around. I thought that I wouldn't judge a book by it's cover and continued.
I brought in two pieces for her to frame and she told me about 3 weeks. No problem. I wasn't in a huge rush. After about 4 weeks, I decided to call. Long story short, it took about 6 weeks for me to finally get my pieces back.
She didn't do a bad job, but i don't think that she did a great job either. I personally think that her eye for framing and what looks good is not that great. Just my opinion, but I left the framing up to her, and I should've just gone with my gut. One of the pieces I'm going to leave alone, but I will be bringing the other to another framer to get redone. She didn't put a mat around it, cut away the poster board that it was mounted on (it's a vintage WWII propaganda poster mounted on a stiff board to help preserve it), and overall just didn't impress me.
Like the two stars say, "Meh. I've experienced better." -

There was a time in my life when I simply thought, "a frame is a frame". I've come a long way since then.
After procuring some art for my then-fiancée as well as needing to frame a jumbo sized portrait for our upcoming wedding, it became clear that we needed to get framed. Artistic Edge Art & Framing was not only located a few blocks from my apartment, but its streak of 5-stars indicated something good was going on there.
Kris was incredibly helpful. While we had some idea of how we wanted to frame our pieces, Kris was there to help us finalize some concepts. You could sense her enthusiasm building in intensity as all of the pieces started to come together and we left with instructions to come back in a week. We couldn't wait to see the results.
We had high expectations, and we were still blown away by the quality of the finished product. Our pieces looked good to begin with, but they now looked great. Sure, you might be able to find quicker or cheaper framing options somewhere else - but if you are framing something you obviously care about it, want to protect it and display it. A frame job from Artistic Edge Art & Frame will allow you to do that - and your art will look even better than when you first took a liking towards it. -

BEAUTIFUL CORPORATE WORK!
I found Kristina and her wonderful shop on Yelp. I wanted an artist to do my framing since one of the pieces I was having framed was a certificate from the trademark office trademarking the slogan I created for my company. I also wanted other corporate certificates framed and needed them to blend with our beautiful office space. I would describe myself as a corporate, creative artist.
To my delight, I found Kristina is an artist in her own right and has a degree in graphic design. During the course of our visit she told me when she graduated (10+ years ago) she wanted a venue in which to display her art and chose framing to do it. My 5 pieces turned our fantastic! They are truly framed works of art. She suggested perfect matting and the frames were just right. I met with her during the holidays so, needless to say, she was quite busy. Since I did not need my certificates right away I agreed to wait and she gave me a discount for doing so. It was so worth the wait and her prices were more than reasonable.
I will return for my personal framing and highly recommend this shop to anyone with any framing need. -

The hanger on an old painting of ours recently broke, and the painting crashed to the floor - fortunately, the painting was okay but the frame and glass seemed to be toast.
I found Artistic Edge on Google, and dropped the painting by to Chris (Kris?) and she was able to save the frame and painting all in the SAME DAY, and gave me an incredibly reasonable rate (shockingly reasonable, considering typical LA prices).
This place has the feel of a Mom and Pop kind of store - I don't know whether she's the owner or the manager, but it's just the kind of local store that should be supported in our McWorld, IMHO...
She has a ton of art books on sale in the front of the store, if you're lookng for a nice gift. The art work she was exhibiting for a local artist was reasonably priced, so I'm guessing everything they do there, from framing to repair to sales, is reasonable.
Artistic Edge Art & Framing is definitely worth a visit! -

I recently obtained a bunch wonderful music memorabilia that I wanted to have framed. And the first thing that came to my mind was to check out yelp to find a local frame shop. I wanted find a mom and pop store versus going to a Aaron's or Michaels. If anyone knows anything about custom framing, is that It's not cheap!! And if you really love the artwork that you are getting framed, it is imperative to take it to a reputable frame shop.
And after reading Duncan's review, I decided to check Artistic Edge out. What a wonderful find! As soon as I walked in, the owner greeted me with a smile. I showed her the items that I wanted to be framed, the budget for each item and the look I was going for. She then showed me the absolute perfect frames and it was all within my price range. :) It did take a few weeks to get my items back, but beautiful framing cannot be rushed.
Overall I was very happy with the work she did and customer service was stellar. -

Got my first piece of artwork framed - and my research led me here. I felt like Kris 'got' what I was looking for, and she offered creative ideas to help make it look amazing. My entire experience here was top-notch. Her assistant (wish I could remember her name!) also helped me find the right people to take photos of my artwork. They went above and beyond in every way. The finished piece looks amazing, and I get lots of compliments. My only recommendation is to upgrade credit card processing. It took a bit long to put through my payment. I recommend Square for iPhone/droid. Overall though, great experience:)

For my mom's birthday, I decided to have a painting that she absolutely loves framed for her. I didn't want to take it to just anywhere (read: Aaron Brothers or some other ridiculous place like that), so I did my homework and found this place in Long Beach. Logistically, I knew that it was going to be hard to frame it well. It had been rolled up for 30 years, some of the paint had started to chip and show damage, and the paper that it was painted on was also showing damage from being rolled up for so long...
From the moment I walked in to Artistic Edge, I could tell that it was going to be a good experience. I could tell that the owner really cares about what she's doing, and the quality of the work that goes out the door. She helped me pick a PERFECT frame (which took well over an hour to pick), and even gave me a 20% discount when I admitted that it was more costly than I had anticipated.
She was able to get it back to me, perfectly framed, in under two weeks and she even touched up some of the damage. Overall, the painting couldnt have come out better. She did an absolutely fantastic job.
(My mom loved it, of course!)
I would highly recommend taking anything you need framed to Artistic Edge even f you don't live near Long Beach. It's well worth the drive to know that someone else will care about your project as much as you do. -

After finding a print on http://art.com I needed to have it framed. Wanting to support a local art framing shot and with the help of YELP I discovered a nearby store which was rated 5 stars by most customers. After all was done I got a great price and the quality was superb. I will definitely go to Artistic Edge again. Bob

Artistic Edge is the only frame shop in town, far as I'm concerned. Brought in a limited silk screen print to have framed for a birthday gift, Kris and co. not only did an amazing job, but had my print done in 24 HOURS as a special favor, and to ensure I had it done for the birthday. Great personable crew and fantastic work.

Had a great experience dealing with Artistic Edge Art & Framing. She worked with my budget and even re-cut the matting I bought after I showed up with a different size frame!

Out of all the local frame shops I've been to, I find Artistic Edge to be the best. The owner does the framing herself - your artwork will not be "sent out" to be framed elsewhere. She has an art background and has a true knack for finding just the right frame for the piece. I love that kind of personal service.

This place is awesome. I came in with an old poster that my boyfriend loves. He has put this thing up in every place he's lived in and the corners have tons of holes from pins and staples. So I decided to have it custom framed for him for his birthday. I checked prices at chain stores like Aaron's only to find that they offer mediocre quality for outrageous prices. Yelp lead me to the Artistic Edge. Kristy ( the owner) was very nice and friendly. She has a lot of beautiful choices of frames and mats. But I am writing this review because she was very willing to work with my budget. She was able to cut my cost down by about 30% just by looking through her scrap pile of materials. So I feel like I basically paid for labor and a little bit for materials. Beautiful work too. My boyfriend loves the frame.

The owner of the shop, Kristina, is amazing to work with - her prices and quality of work & service is awesome.
The new wife and I brought in a print and our own frame we found on sale. I've never had anything custom framed in my life. Thank the Lord for Kristina cause she's a blessing for sure, definitely a pro at what she does.
Kristina was more than happy to use the frame we brought in - that's awesome - cause I was so nervous to ask. She's so nice and friendly, she made great recommendations on colors (we went with her recommendation and the print pops!) and the best layout (which came out amazing).
My wife was so happy that Kristina left a voice message for us to let us know that our framing order was ready before Christmas! It was so awesome that we were able to get it in to enjoy it with the family and friends on the holidays. So happy that I came here that I am writing a yelp at 2:00AM!
I wish I had some of those They Love Us On Yelp stickers.
The placement of the print within the frame is amazing, the quality of the glass, background color, back, and wire is great. My wife and I we're saying to each other, that we could not believe that we owned the art piece while we were driving home.
Artistic Edge Art and Framing is awesome and Kristina works with you in a way that you know you're being treated like a good friend. Thank you Kristina and God Bless! -

Very thoughtful, professional work at very affordable prices without the bs sales of the larger chains. I came here based on yelp reviews and was pleasantly surprised to find a very cool shop with great art, jewelry and of course frames. The owner is amazing and very thoughtful when it comes to presentation. I had 4 photos and a baseball ticket I wanted framed on short notice for a present for xmas. Christina spent time with me to figure out the best arrangement, matting colors and framing, then priced a great deal, and got it done within a week (even though she was very busy due to holiday season). A great experience overall, and I will be bringing a painting I've been wanting to frame for awhile to her bc I know she will do a great job and it won't break the bank.

After just moving to the area and having to get a couple pieces framed I checked Yelp and found Artistic Edge to be closest and best rated on here. Turns out everyone's dead on I went to get frames and ended up getting my pieces color plaqued, and they both came out amazing and well worth the wait. Kristina (the owner) is well accomodating and prompt couldn't ask for better work, I'll be referring friends here for sure.

Artistic Edge is a hidden gem. I needed to frame an original 1950s modernist watercolor that I received as a gift. Given the age and value of the piece, I couldn't do it just anywhere, and I spent a long time searching for the right framing store. My first assumption was that I'd have to go somewhere in Santa Monica or Pasadena to get it framed properly (read: by museum standards). After consulting with some artist friends and looking up reviews online, however, I discovered Artistic Edge, right in Long Beach. Now I wouldn't go anywhere else!
The woman (Kris) who owns and runs the store has an art degree and frames personally every piece. Although this means that it might take her a few weeks to get the job done (3 weeks, in my case), it also means that she can devote her care and attention to each piece. When I walked into the store, she welcomed me with a smile and proceeded to spend over an hour with me discussing my preferences, explaining clearly all the framing options and their different effects on the life of the piece, and even asking me about my house decor, so that the custom frame could fit my style. She never made me feel rushed. Instead, she browsed patiently through dozens of frames and matting options, until we found the perfect ones. I really appreciated her willingness to guide me in the process and provide me with valuable information (e.g., about which styles of framing will protect the longevity of the piece), while also listening to me and to my taste. When I went back to pick up the framed piece, I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. She had been able to capture perfectly the style of my house, and the watercolor was also well protected in archival matting and UV glass!
The prices are very reasonable, and Kris even gave me a discount. It looks like she is used to working with all kinds of artwork, from valuable historic pieces to old college posters of sentimental value, and she is very willing to work with different budgets. So, now that I know what kind of magic she can work, I might have to go back there soon to frame one of those wrinkled-yet-sentimental college posters that live folded in my closet. -

I finally got my undergraduate diploma framed after it had been in the tube for eight long years. I was in the shop for about an hour with the owner, mostly chatting about random stuff because she was so friendly. I took out my diploma and showed her the rolled up edges, and she assured me that she would be able to flatten the edges. I also let her know what kind of look I wanted, and she was able to make some suggestions about the color of the matting and frame. A few weeks later, I picked up my framed diploma, and it is now hanging on my wall. I chose a black mat with dull gold trim and a dark brown/almost black frame with dull gold highlights. I'm very pleased with the results, and I would definitely go back to her for any custom framing jobs. I just found the service much more personable than chain stores like Aaron Brothers. The price is higher, but it is custom framing, and I like to support independent, local businesses whenever I can.
