Art of the Wild is more than an art gallery, it's an extraordinary little gift shop with a variety of goods from artists all over the world. Fortunately, it focuses primarily on local artists who are well represented with some beautiful, colorful, unusual, and even fun pieces. There are water buffalo horns from Thailand, carved into some beautiful designs and colors. There are glass figures from Bavaria that are a mix of primary colors that draw your attention; some handcrafted jewelry by a local artist and some prints of animals in bright watercolors. My favorites were the cow and the horses and the horses, according to the owner, are this particular artists trademark. The hand painted silk scarves were so gorgeous I had to buy one.
And the owner is the tiniest woman I've ever met, but what an extraordinary personality, with a sparkle in her eye, and great sales technique . . . every piece in that store she knew everything about. I learned a lot about the local art community and will definitely stop here again.
