Rachanee did an excellent job on my trial. Although I was literally an hour late and couldn't contact her because I got lost and forgot my cell phone/don't have GPS she was very nice about it. She took almost two hours to complete my trial, she took lots of time to discuss the look I wanted and was very thorough.
The studio is in her home and It was *slightly* stressful that her babysitter's kids kept banging on the window but I am not going to take off a star for that because that is how *amazing* the makeup and hair was and how sweet and professional she was. I am extremely picky about my appearance and not easily pleased so for me to be happy with this was pretty good. She did airbrush and it came with single lash application. She took the time to blow-dry my bangs nice and straight which was a special touch that many artist neglect to do She also took lots of before and after pictures of me with both her camera and mine and sent them to me pretty prompty. Her prices are on par with other artists in the area.
I am still deciding on finances because of my location but would not hesitate to highly recommend her for your makeup and hair needs.
Some suggestions for future brides:
- bring pictures of a few looks you are going for. Research this well. I ultimately went for a completely different hair look than I originally thought I wanted.
- Make sure you ask your artists what makeup they use beforehand. My first one had the nerve to use Mary Kay on me (ugh). Rachanee used mac, among others.
- Definitely do airbrush even if you have nice skin. Mine is in relatively decent shape. I did a trial with and without airbrush, and it makes a huge difference.
-Also bring your own lipstick as you may prefer that to the colors suggested. It's worth paying to get more than one trial if you are picky like I am. Considering the costs of a wedding it is really a drop in the bucket. Rachanee was my third artist and not until I came to her did I find the exact look I was happy with.
- Request single lash application. It looks way more natural. If you are using the trial as your engagement pictures make sure they use an adequate amount of glue or the lashes will start to come off. Don't let the artist try to get away with no using lashes during the trial. You need to see how they look!
- Take lots of photos in different lighting if possible and wait to wash the trial makeup off for awhile to see how it holds up.

My wedding coordinator recommended Rachanee to me when I was looking for a hair/make up artist. I went in for my trial and shared with her my vision of what I wanted to look like for my wedding day. Rachanee totally understood my ideas and spent a good deal of time on my hair/makeup during the trial.
On the day of my wedding, she brought an assistant to help with my BM's hair and make up. They both worked very hard and got everyone done in a timely manner. Throughout the day, everyone complimented me on how elegant I looked. Also, my hair was in place for the whole day. There was not a single strand of hair out of place!
Rachanee is not only a skilled artist, she is a warm and kind person. On the day of, you want to surround yourself with people who will keep you calm and positive - Rachanee did just that for me. She's extremely professional and personal. You will not be disappointed. -

Rachanee was wonderful to work with - I would highly recommend her! I chose her to work on my hair and make-up for my wedding in June 2009. I actually ended up doing a few trials with her because I was indecisive on hair styles. She was very patient with me and very accommodating to my schedule and requests. On the day of the wedding, her work was even better than the trial and she spent a lot of time making sure that I liked the makeup and hair. My husband felt it looked very natural and loved it, which was a great compliment since he generally likes me without any makeup at all. I received a lot of compliments and never felt better!
I also asked her to do my bridesmaids' hair. She brought an assistant with her the day of because I had 6 bridesmaids. I was a bit anxious about her assistant because I had never met her prior or seen her work. However, they both did a wonderful job and my bridesmaids' hair looked amazing! In fact, my cousin has hair that never keeps their curls, but somehow Rachanee and her assistant made it so that her curls actually stayed the whole night! I was truly amazed! :) -

Rachanee and her team were awesome. She's so accommodating and such a sweetheart. She knows how to make you look and feel beautiful. I had so many comments that my makeup was amazing, that my natural features were beautifully enhanced. Despite some miscommunication with the wedding coordinator on my big day, she still remained a sweetheart and calmed my nerves when I was starting to feel the bridezilla in me come out when things were going as planned. She was one of the highlights of my wedding and I could not be happier. She's just perfect. I'm so happy I found her.
My bridesmaids makeup and hair were done by her team, Nancy and Dzime, who were awesome too. The girls looked so beautiful and glamorous. I was just amazed at how wonderful and perfect everything turned out. Just really happy overall. -

I had been looking for a hair/makeup artist for my wedding and had a trial run with a gal with less than desired results, to put it mildly. She barely spoke english and did not understand what I wanted for my makeup look. I needed to find someone else who knew what they were doing!
So, I searched on the Web and luckily, I found Rachanee! After my first experience with that other gal, I was very careful because I didn't want a repeat, so I asked questions and even brought pictures of what I wanted. I shouldn't have worried - Rachanee turned out to be wonderful! She is a very pleasant person and knowledgeable about different makeup looks. We experimented with different styles and she has a very good eye for what makes you look your best. Rachanee was patient and friendly, like having your best friend there who wanted you to look your best on your special day.
Rachanee also did my hair in a beautiful upsweep style so I could wear my headpiece - a birdcage veil headband set with silk flowers and feathers. My hair is straight and different lengths and I was afraid that it would not stay up and sleek for the long day with the headband on it, but it didn't budge and looked fantastic.
I received lots of compliments at the wedding, and now finally getting to look at the wedding pictures, I was very happy. Being an older bride (49), you wouldn't think that looking at the pictures, it was more like mid-30s! Yeah, I'm bragging, but it's a great compliment to Rachanee, thanks, girl! As a matter of fact, my photographer liked it so much, she's using my bridal portrait in her own ads!
Rachanee communicated very well by email and phone to double check things like place and times before the big day. She was even a bit early that day and was fully prepared with all her equipment and ready to go! I HIGHLY recommend her for her services, I wish there were other occasions I could come up with that I could use her again! -

Rachanee with Art Occasions did my wedding makeup this past December. I found Art Occasions on Yelp and completed a consultation because the reviews for Rachanee were wonderful. I was very lucky to have found her. Here are a few things I like about Rachanee;
1) She is very sweet
2) She listens to your requests
3) She creates your makeup look based on your needs and wants
4) She has a very calming presence (which is important on your wedding day)
5) She is very easy to work with
6) She is professional
7) You can trust her because she follows through
8) The end result is wonderful and long lasting
In addition, I met with Rachanee for a consultation and we tried one type of foundation which I found to be a little heavy on my skin because I have oily skin. Rachanee had no problem scheduling me for a second consultation to try another type of foundation which worked a lot better on my skin. Rachanee also provided me with a clean up hair cut several weeks before the wedding which was very helpful because it saved me the trouble of going somewhere else just to have a trim. It was also helpful for me to have her cut my hair because she was also doing my hair for my wedding and she knew how much hair she needed to work with to provide me with my wedding hair style.
Rachanee also provided hair and makeup to some of my bridesmaids and they were all very happy with the results.
If you're searching for a makeup/hair stylist I highly recommend Rachanee at Art Occasions. -

I went in for a trial with Rachanee and had mixed feelings. She did a great job with my make-up. I loved it. It looked natural and the spray foundation held all day. However, for the hair, I felt like she didn't listen to what I wanted. I came in with a picture and asked for loose and curly. She ended up doing a completely straight, cookie-cutter type hairstyle. I like it alright, but it was NOT what I had asked for.
I was still planning on booking her and emailed later for another hair appointment to make sure I got the look I wanted. When I asked for the second trial, her husband Tod emailed me back (as the manager) and told me she had booked another wedding on the same day as mine (pretty far from my wedding) and believed she might be able to fit me in still if I would settle for an assistant stylist for my hair while she did my makeup and if none of my bridesmaids would require any services. I had already paid her $75 for the first trial! Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed and I honestly felt that she wasn't very straightforward with me.

if i could give rachanee six stars i would! she is amazingly talented and professional and a sweet person on top of everything else. she did my hair and makeup on my wedding day and even returned in the afternoon to change my hair before the reception. she made me feel beautiful and that's so important on your big day. i got great compliments from family and guests. she was incredibly patient during my trial and handled my requests and changes with no problem. i would recommend rachanee without hesitation.
while rachanee is wonderful, my only complaint would be that her other stylists who did hair and makeup needed more coaching and guidance, but once we voiced our opinions, they were happy to oblige.
