Art from the Hive is a great gallery which I am unaware as to their hours however it is one of many galleries that one can peruse during the 3rd Saturday of the month Santiago Artists District Art Walk.  We came by this past Saturday (10-17-09) to check out the Cody Lusby Mustachio closing reception.

Here we were greeted by Cody himself and offered wine in which were bottled with the Mustachio labels! ! Art walks are always fun! This gallery hands down never disappoints. Always has great exhibits especially the Mustachio exhibit. There were even Day of the Dead gourmet sugar cookies mini samples and some for sale. Coutesey of  Linzy Kearbey of  Sugar Cookie Couture. A cookie entrepreneur. I bought two and for my birthday I would like if that SOMEONE (you know who you are) would get me a bouquet of her amazingly deliciously attractive cookies!

Art from the Hive is spacious so even though it gets packed in here you really are never rubbing shoulders and elbows with people in here. The owner is super friendly as well! This is a  must see when you are perusing the galleries during art walk.

If you find yourself  with nothing to do on the 3rd Saturday night and in need of some art and culture then make it down to the Santiago Art Walk. There are many galleries here some are hit some are miss but more so a hit than a miss. They even sell Chicano dogs aka bacon wrapped hot dogs. This time around there was free coffee, fancy cookies like the pumpkin spice cookies for sale on the walk ways. Live  music and DJ's playing! One gallery's exhibit had  a goth theme while next door was the art of Michael Pukac!  It was all fun! This is also a great place to bring your children as long as they don't touch the art.

At any rate I loved it!  Always love art walk best part is when you are done you can go down to Downtown Santa Ana for either a late dinner or cocktails..

I forgot to add the Kogi Taco Truck was here as well. But, by the time we got to the truck they had closed down shop. :(

My fav. Mustachio piece. http://www.anunseenbea...

I've attended the Hive Art Walk at the Santiago Lofts a few times now and I love the fun party atmosphere, with great music vibes, free tacos and cocktails. They mix it up with monthly featured artists and handmade jewelry.
The art in most of the galleries are top notch artists, really getting out there showing and selling their work. Lots of interesting people to meet and talk to.
Great art venue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of all the Santiago Art Lofts this one is my fave. Need something to do Saturday night? Stop by AFTH, peep some cool art while people watching and shoveling in free tacos, and a down a margarita or three before hitting up one of a jillion bars (Memphis, The Crosby) that are just a stone's throw away. Close proximity to the train station (read: lots and lots of free parking) make this spot a winner all around.

Did I mention that they serve free tacos?
