Boyfriend's father has done some truly remarkable work for charity. When it was printed in the paper, I knew we had to get it properly saved... And not by hoarding a sad, tattered and yellowing clipping at the bottom of a random drawer... We needed a frame!
Bonus with your buy, a massive tote! The logo makes me smile and seriously, I use it every weekend... Perfect for all the bulky Target buys, love it! Thank you! -

My husband and I came into Art De Triumph with a groupon and a canvas painting we had picked up in Zanzibar that we hadn't framed yet.
Marcy was very knowledgeable about framing and explained our options in terms of either stretching the canvas or dry mounting it. She was such a big help in finding the right frame to go with the painting. She pulled out numerous styles that spanned different price ranges to make sure we could find something that we were really happy with and could afford. She also encouraged us to look through the huge selection of frames they had in case we saw something we liked that she hadn't brought out. Nancie was also around and gave her input. It was nice having multiple opinions.
When we got the painting back we were thrilled. It looked even better than we had imagined. They did a great job, and were a real pleasure to work with. -

For several years after college, I managed a store that sold posters and art and did custom framing (art history degree - what else could I do). Over the years, I learned how to do all kinds of conservation framing. I am extremely picky about my framing and won't trust my things to just anyone.
I went in here and had a great conversation with Nancie about my past experiences with framing. I also brought in two CD booklets autographed by Blossom Dearie and a photo of me with the singer for framing. I had an idea of what I wanted and she helped me to achieve that. I must have had her pull out a hundered different mats and then asked for her to have an extremely small margin around the edges of each mat opening because I wanted to get as much of the autograph in view as possible.
It was a relatively complex job for something that was not a shadow box and did not require sewing. Nancie had a great knowledge of framing techniques, a lot of patience with me, and a really thorough selection of frames and mats. I was super happy with the piece when I picked it up (I will try to post a photo later).
Her artwork is not really my style but I can see why people like it and she has an obvious love for this great city of ours. I have not purchased any of her pieces, so my review is specifically of her framing services.
Take it from me - a real stickler when it comes to framing - she knows what she is doing and does a great job. It was not inexpensive but this is one of those retail areas where you really get what you pay for. Especially if you are framing something vaulable or irreplaceable. -

They have an awesome selection of greeting cards which are mini replica's of the owner's larger paintings. They make for a nice and affordable piece of art.

What a wonderful gallery! I am still deciding which large piece of Nancie King-Mertz's art to get. In the meantime, I have picked up several of the greeting cards - they are all over my house! My mom has used their framing services several times and been more than pleased.

I visited Art De Triumph for a custom framing service and Nancy and Marcy are wonderful--very helpful and patient with you while you make a decision. The art turned out beautifully and I even received a thank you note in the mail. They are a premium priced service, but very worth it!

Even if you are too broke to buy art, you have to buy cards. And Nancie has many of her fantastic paintings in note card size. Italian weddings, Chicago skyline, Montrose Harbor, a bar in Madrid - Nancie has traveled the world, and you should take advantage of it.

There are few people walking this earth knowing less about art than I, however this didn't prevent me from immensely enjoying my time in this store and in Nancy's presence. Nancy is the owner and artist of most pieces gracing this very intimate and comfortable space. Her hospitality, kindness, service and talent are truly something to behold. It is impossible to only spend fifteen minutes here as there's too much to see, experience and feel. Her inspired and passionate work mesmerizes the eyes and transforms the heart. I encourage you to stop by, find something that will enhance your humble abode and spend years enjoying the piece. Yes, she's that good.

Nancie King Mertz is one of the lesser known jewels in our city. Her artistic skills are exceptional, and her warm, caring personality is genuinely sincere. Get on her mailing list because she hosts complimentary parties throughout the year in the courtyard behind her gallery which are catered by local restaurants and wine purveyers. It is a great opportunity to spend a summer evening while viewing excellently artwork and socializing with old friends and new. Her husband Ron reproduces many of her more popular pieces in his giclee technique which looks as authentic as the original at a fraction of the cost. Having a well decorated home needn't be expensive.
