I was in a pinch to get a cake for a birthday party and luckily I found this place. I got a chocolate cake and it was a total hit at the party. I'll be back when I'm in need of any baked goods again for sure.

The best bakery in the area... period. The cakes are moist and delicious, a wide variety of flavors to choose from. They bend over backwards to create whatever cake you can dream up. My son (who's 13 now) has had every one of his cakes from AG Bakery, and they have never disappointed us, in fact the cake is one of the highlights of his parties. Can't recommend highly enough!

I have been a Mommy for 28 years!! I always used Arroyo Grande Bakery for all our special occasions!! Always very HAPPY! I think my favorite was Mandi's Real Doll barbie cake and her GO GO MANDI CARLI Pink Power Ranger cake. I believe they designed and baked my oldest daughter's very fancy graduation cake!! They are great and deserve 5 stars!! Too bad we live in LA again!!

Ok, my wife was supposed to order the cake for my nephew's birthday, but dropped the ball. And, he wanted an ice cream cake to boot.
She called two local ice cream shops and didn't even get a call back. In a sign of defeat, she called me and told me to bring home some cupcakes or a pre-made cake from the store.
A friend told me to try Arroyo Grande Bakery, and within 30 minutes, they made a terrific personalized ice cream cake with the flavor and design we wanted. Total small town feel, but with a big town service. They saved the day and I looked like a hero.
They earned the right to our business for every cake or bakery need going forward. -

Best bakery in the 5 cities. Amazing customer service and exceptional at making personalized cakes! Great to just pop in for a tasty treat, as well as to make big orders for upcoming events! I always love their butter cookies; they melt in your mouth!

The best cakes and cookies I have ever had and the worse part about living in Monterey is that I can't eat desserts from here more often. Every year I have gotten my birthday cake from here, that's 26 years, and my family has been going here since the 70's. My wedding cake was amazing and I always new I would get it from AG bakery. Also a note to couples getting married - freeze the top layer, it will still be moist and the frosting amazing even after a year.
PS. My Mom is driving up to visit me in Monterey for my Birthday tomorrow, and my only request was Arroyo Grande Bakery cake, so thank you! -

Wow, this is a troublesome place if you enjoy goodies as much as I do.
Pies, baked goods, breads and cakes, yum.
I especially enjoy the loganberry/marionberry (?) pies and the delicate pastries. Oh, great, I'm salivating.
Very attentive service, fun decorated cakes, and be sure to check out the day-old rack first, 'cause the goodies disappear quickly.Listed in: Eat N' Pays

My family has been going to this bakery for at least 20 years! When I was a little girl my mom would take me over to the bakery to get a cupcake after we shopped at Williams Bros., if I was good.
Their cupcakes always were decorated so pretty and they had those plastic toys in them. I used to get Care Bears, or whatever was popular at the time. They still make those, and they look just as good as when I was a kid!
The cakes are awesome. We usually get birthday cakes from here, and they're always delicious. The frosting is real buttercream, not that gross Crisco stuff that the grocery stores use!
They have a variety of fillings you can get in between the layers. Our favorites are the berry ones,lemon, or chocolate frosting. Their white cake is really nice, so is the yellow, and the lemon was awesome too.
They always have really yummy cookies as well as pies, cakes and cupcakes.
The people have always been really nice when we've gone in, and prices are reasonable.
If you need a cake for a special occasion, I would definitely recommend going here to get it. -

I'm originally from Arroyo Grande. and the bakery was up the street from my house. THEY HAVE THE MOST DELICIOUS COOKIES I HAVE EVER HAD! The ones Im talking about in particular are the sugar cookies topped with frosting. I bring them to my man and friends in San Francisco and everyone loves them. The owner is a great lady and knows all my family by name. We have always bought their cakes for birthdays and they are amazing. The cake is moist, and the frosting is really something special, I've never had it like the way they do it anywhere else. Its sweet, with a creamy and airy texture...mmmmm its to die for! They have been at their current location for a LONG time, so don't let the funky grocery store and other little unsophisticated shops/businesses surrounding trip you up. We just love arroyo grande bakery, I'd recommend anything they bake to anyone. (oh yea, try the thumb-print cookies too!)
