I have done tours of other lakes and coast lines and found this one to be particularly pleasant. I'd say you get what you'd expect, a bit of education and trivia about the area and a different view of the lake. I found it to be especially beautiful from that perspective.

I did find this tour to be especially pleasant, we were able to relax, enjoy the funny captain and have some fun. I don't mind the price, I figure that it is reasonable given the length of the tour and that it is a unique experience involving technical skill and boat maintenance.

As a note, I am prone to motion sickness and I didn't experience any.

While in the area be sure to get a little bag from pretty much any of the shops and feed the birds. I may be a nerd but it was totally fun to sit out on a dock watching the ducks, segals and even geese freaking out. There were these small black birds while beady red eyes that were really fascinating as well.

I agree with Ali that it was a bit pricey (especially since my wife swears they told her a different price on the phone) but it ended up being worth it. We had a calm day so the lake water was like glass. Beautiful tour of the lake with a lot of history. The captain was a very nice and funny guy. He even let our 7 year old son pilot the boat for a bit (while the captain kept one hand on the wheel of course.).

Might be a little long for toddlers or fidgety kids. No bathroom on the boat, so be sure to go before, as the trip is just under an hour and you're surrounded by all that water.

Ticket prices have gone up over the last few years probably due to high fuel costs, but it's a very pleasant experience and the ride takes a little over an hour.  The Captain was funny and a long-time resident of the mountains so he knew all sorts of interesting little factoids about our town.  Kid friendly and good fun!

Originally I wanted to go water skiing, however the McKenzie water ski school did not answer their phone, or return my phone call or email. So this was my 2nd choice of activities to do here in Arrowhead village.

After we got the tickets @ LeRoy's store, we had some time to kill. So we got some "quack food" sold @ LeRoy's for 50 cents a package and fed the ducks while we waited for the boat tour to start.

The seats at the back of the boat face forward (though they lack windows which you can open up). The other seats along the edge of the boat have adjustable windows. The boat goes rather slow.

The tour was ok, though a bit boring. The captain does a lot of name dropping, so if you're into that sort of thing, this might be interesting. I think it's more suited for the older generation and / or people that are interested in big fancy houses.

It is not like riding the Catalina Flyer's catamaran gliding over the surface. Nor is it like taking a ferry boat around Lake Como at which you can hop on and off at the many stops of your choice. Little towns where many villas, gardens, hotels or gelaterias are at. No, this is a small lake, be forewarned with no stopovers.

My friend Alex fell asleep, even though there was 1 family that had 4 kids, who were in constant motion or noise.

It's worth it for 1x. I wouldn't go on it a 2nd x. Sorry Ali, it doesn't take my breath away. I'd much rather go water skiing.

My husband and I had a great time on the boat tour.  When we purchased our tickets., the cashier was extremely friendly and gave us a discount for it being our anniversary.  The boat tour itself was very smooth and informative.  We went on a beautiful day, the weather was perfect.  The only complaint I have is I wish the captain had spent more time talking about the history of the lake and the lake itself rather than pointing out all the celebrity homes.  But, for the price, it was worth the ride.

I went w/ a tour grp today & the tour was enjoyable, interesting, & just long enough (1 hour).  The boat ride was smoother than I thought it would be, which is wonderful because I was carsick from being on the winding bus for the last hour & 15 min to get there.

The captain/tour guide knew his stuff & he tells you mostly about many of the lakeside mansions & what wealthy person/celebrity owns them, how much they cost, that they have a 16 car garage filled w/ Lambos, etc.

Although a bit pricey ($15 for adults), this 45-minute tour of Lake Arrowhead will show you some AMAZING homes on the lake that will take your breath away. The captain is funny and knows his stuff, everything from who owns what house to what year the dam was deemed unsound by the State of California. Boats leave on the hour from an area behind the McDonald's in the Village, and tickets are sold at a store called Leroy's. It's an excellent activity to do on a warm day as the mist from the waves will cool you down. Give it a shot! Definitely worth doing at least once.

This was loads of fun.  The kids and adults enjoyed it too.  About a 50 minute boat ride around Lake Arrowhead.  The boat is a paddle wheel and has a maximum speed of about 1 1/2 farts a minute, but it's plenty.  You get to learn about the history of the lake, see some of the original dams built and some famous houses.  We had Captain Bill Smith and he was a true gentlemen.  Don't worry about getting seasick, this isn't the sea and you won't get sick.
