Doug is one of those type of people that just restores your faith in humanity. He's a nice, honest, hardworking guy that knows his profession well and how to take care of customers. While doing a simple repair on my garage door, neighbors who had recently had work done by Doug (I live in a complex where all the garages went up at the same time and are now failing at the same time) came over to say hi.
Sad to say that now that my door is fixed, I won't be seeing Doug for a while, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone that needs garage door service! -

Great work! Nice guy! Doug came out and installed a new garage door for us. The old door was for a single car, though the garage could support a double door, so Doug did a little demo for us and installed the larger door. He didn't do the finish work around the new larger door but he had informed us of that before hand and we were ok with it. His quote was reasonable and he was very responsive when we called. Would definitely recommend!

Doug has been fixing my garage door for many years, both for my home and for my townhouse rental. He always gives me different options to choose from on what can be done to fix the problem.
I had an opener that would no longer lift the door. He found that the plastic gears inside the opener had worn down into dust. Options were to replace the entire unit, which is what I had expected to do, or to replace the worn out gears. The gears were only $40 as compared to $250 for a new opener. His advice was to replace the gears since the motor was in great shape. On top of replacing the gears, he adjusted the springs to reduce the weight of the door which will ultimately extend the life of the gears and motor.
Doug has also fixed my townhouse garage door which came off its tracks. We tried putting the door back on its tracks ourselves, but it came off after 3 runs. As soon as Doug walked in, he knew that the tracks were bent and the spring needed tightening.
His work is always quick and he makes it all seem so easy. Great service! -

I read all of these great reviews and decided to get a bid for replacing a 2 car garage door at a rental property.
I called Doug on Friday afternoon to schedule a Monday appointment. He was friendly and scheduled me for Monday appointment at noon.
On Monday at 12:30pm I was waiting for Doug and thought he must be running late. I called him and asked if he would be able to make the appointment time. He apologized and said he was running late and would not be able to make our scheduled appointment.
Since he knew he was running late it would have been helpful if he had called to reschedule or at least let me know when to expect him. Still these things happen especially with contractors so I had a plan B. I left the garage door unlocked and told him to come by when he had time today and just call me with his bid.
Around 3pm I received a call from Doug. He said he could replace the garage door for $950 or repair it for a few hundred. I explained that it was a rental property and asked him to leave a bid in the mailbox so I could discuss the bid with the property owner. This is when Doug got unprofessional and shared his unsolicited opinion on the exterior condition of the rental property. He said it looked "ratty" and needed lots of work. I thanked him for his opinion and that's when he got rude and said it was more than an opinion. I thanked him for his bid and said I would let him know if we decide to accept his bid. He could tell I was annoyed but seemed unapologetic about insulting some potential new clients.
When I got to the property to retrieve his written estimate I noticed that the price had increased. On the phone he quoted me $950 and when he found out it was a rental property he wrote up the estimate for $1050. I'm sure he is not expecting to get the job.
Doug, word to the wise, don't insult people who are obviously considering your services to improve their property. What you say sounds even worse when you're 3 hours late for an appointment. -

EMERGENCY!
I come home from work on a Friday, open my garage door with the remote, and *sproing* one of the old springs breaks. The door is jammed.
I need to leave for vacation in the morning.
I call one of the top recommend garage door companies, leave a voicemail. Then I realize they don't work week ends.
I call Arrow. Doug is at my home within an hour and assesses the situation. I need a spring conversion kit since my system is over 20 years old and obsolete.
He comes back early the next morning and has the door working smoothly and quietly in an hour. Better than before.
Weekend is saved. -

Doug/Arrow Garage is fantastic. He was very patient while I described the type of door that I thought that I wanted and then he even drove me around and showed me examples. That made it easy and definative for me. Then all of his responses and follow through were VERY timely and helpful. His pricing is fantastic too. I would recommend him to anyone.

I told Doug I needed to get a new garage door. He could have sold me one and got a lot more money. Instead, he recommended that I just get a new garage door opener since my old garage door was usable for another 2-3 years. I appreciate his honesty, expertise, and objective advice. With Doug, you never have worry about getting ripped off because you don't know anything about garage doors. He definitely will get my business again.

I am shocked by how many five star reviews are here. First, a disclaimer: I am writing this review on behalf of my senior citizen mother and father, and I have no personal experience with this company.
My parent's garage door was stuck and the original service call was good. Someone came out and the problem was fixed! Yay.
However, only TWO days later, the door was stuck again. They called Arrow again and someone came out. Apparently, by replacing the part on the first visit, it made the older parts unable to work effectively. He told my parents that he had been pretty sure that would happen but didn't tell them on the first trip because he was worried that they would think he was trying to upsell more parts...on a five dollar part.
Yet, when asked if he would waive the $80.00 service charge (since the door had only worked for two days on the original fix) he absolutely refused. When my parents commented that it would be the right thing to do, his response was, "Well, I'm still in business anyway." WTF!?!?
My parents ended up paying $160 in service fees and only about $20 in parts. I feel like they were taken advantage of. I love my go-to garage door problem solver (Garage Door Guys) and wish my parents had called me before finding this jerk. -

Excellent Service, I called yesterday in the morning and Doug came at 5:00 pm, half hour and my door fixed! He charged me less than 100 dollars, and my door like new, very very happy, I really recommend this guy and his business!!!!!!

I moved into a townhouse that had the very old Genie garage door opener that has the 12 static switches. I didn't think that was secure enough so I ordered a new Genie Intellicode upgrade kit on the internet. When it arrived I attempted to install it myself. But the directions did not seem to make sense and they showed a transformer that was not in the kit so I could not do it.
So I called a garage door company but the guy that answered the phone could not understand what I was asking for. First he thought I wanted someone to come out and program remotes. Then he thought I wanted someone to fix the wall switch, etc.
Then I called Arrow and Doug answered the phone. He immediately knew exactly what I was talking about and I was very happy to hear that he would come himself.
When he came I showed him the directions that didn't make sense and he ignored the directions and did the upgrade based on his own knowledge and told me why the transformer was not needed. He soon had it working and even threw in a free lecture on why I should not do business with Genie in the future.
So I paid $80 but felt it was well worth it especially since he didn't try to sell me a new, non-Genie kit. It was a pleasure to do business with a skilled and knowledgeable person. -

At 4:45pm on a Friday my garage door will not open. The husband says "Good luck trying to find someone before Monday." Huh! So off to Yelp I go. First place I called, operating hours said until 7pm M-F. No answer. I remember seeing the Arrow Car drive by our home almost daily. Gave Arrow a call. Doug answers the phone, says it's the spring, he can be out tomorrow morning at 8am! Yes that's right! He arrived right on time. Replacing the springs only took less than an hour. Garage door is working now. What more can I say. Great service!

The sprocket gear assembly in our opener failed this morning. This is a common part to go bad if your opener is around 10 years old. My wife called me to tell me the opener stopped working and the motor ran for a while with nothing happening. I initially thought of buying a complete new opener and having it installed. Then I remembered that a few of my neighbor's gear assemblies have failed in recent months (our houses are about 11 years old). One neighbor simply purchased a whole new opener while another put in a new gear assembly himself. I expected ours failed too and while I could wing it and try repairing it myself, I would rather pay someone to have it done smoothly and correctly.
I found Arrow Garage Doors here on yelp and called. Doug answered and we discussed what I explained above and he was quite certain that was the issue as well. I was able to set an appt for today and he arrived promptly. The job was done quickly (less than 30 min.) and cleanly. Doug was professional. I like that he left the damaged part for me since I was not home when he did the repair.
If your opener is of similar age and fails with similar symptoms (motor runs but garage doesn't move) call Doug instead of going out to by a new opener. The gear assembly can be installed quickly and your opener will run for many more years.
I will enthusiastically recommend Arrow Garage Doors to anyone that needs garage door services. -

Yesterday my garage door fell off the track and broke into two parts. I was thinking that I have to buy a new one. One quick call to Doug and he showed up on time. After careful inspection, he assured me that the garage door is fixable. In about one hour, my garage door goes back to work, just better.

I have an outside opener that you open the door with a code and this thing never work I look at the wires and everything look like it hook up. so I call Arrow and the gentlemen came out and re set the code + I had my spring spray and the sensitivity adjusted for the garage

Last weekend I called Arrow Garage door because my garage door motor went out. Doug arrived within a few hours and determined that the Spocket on the motor snapped off. He said about $170.00 to fix it and I agreed.
Today, I miscalculated my parking and after the car was off and parked, I went to close the garage door and it hit my bumper. Typically, when this happens the safety feature trips the motor and the garage door reverses, well in my case the motor kept going and crumpled the door, until it looked like and accordion. I called Doug to explain and he quickly said that it had nothing to do with his service and that he did not touch the Force Adjustment. At that point I told him that I called him because he is the Expert and it is expected that the he, as an expert repair the door and leave everything operating properly. I don't know about "force adjustment sensor" that is why I called him. It was gross negligence on his part not make sure that the force sensor was adjusted properly.
Doug hung up on me (and still keeps hanging up) while I was explaining the negligent work he has done and the damage it has cause to my door, am giving him the heads up about the claim I will be submitting shortly. we are going to court just in case Doug reads this post. and I already have a few addresses where I will be having the court papers served. I really wish Doug would pick up so that I don't have to use Yelp as a means of communication.
Not sure about all these 5 stars he gets here but facts are facts. He hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. Who does that? Really? I will be sure to post the court outcome for all the Yelp members. -

As a real estate agent with clients who often need a new garage door, I have contacted Doug at Arrow on several occasions. He has always been responsive and his service to my clients has been amazing. I have seen a few negative reviews on Yelp for Arrow, and I realize that "you can't please all the people all the time", but I have to say that in repeated transactions with Doug my experience has always been first-rate!

I registered with Yelp, just so I can share my experience with Doug from Aarow Garage Doors. This guy is absolutely awesome! I created a huge mess by trying to fix my garage door myself and Doug was there to save the day.
Called him on a Saturday morning at 8am and he said he can make it out anytime after 11 that same day. My garage was dangling off the rail, so needless to say, his prompt response was appreciated.
He showed up right on time, assessed the situation and told me it wasn't a big deal and he could fix it right then and there for under $100.
Obviously, knowing the desperate situation I was in, I couldn't help but feel I was a vulnerable to being overcharged. Not the case with Doug, he gave me a very reasonable price and fixed my door in less than an hour! He even spent time after he fixed it to explain exactly what went wrong and how to prevent it in the future!
Great guy, knowledgeable, professional, and honest!

I was referred to Doug by Ron from Garage Door Guys who was booked up and couldn't make it out. Doug answered right away, came out in a few hours (early), took less than 30 minutes to diagnose & fix the problem. He was knowledgeable, very honest. You can tell he has been in the business for a long time. His prices were reasonable and worth it.

One Sunday, my garage door would not open. Arrow Doors was not available then, so i called another company ( highly rated by Yelpers ). But that man was not thorough with his work and was in a hurry to leave with my check. The problem didn't go away. This time, instead of calling the same incompetent man again, i called Doug from Arrow Garage Doors. Sure enough - Doug fixed the problem, stayed and tested it till he was satisfied and was very reasonable with his charges. I was really satisfied with the result as i have ALWAYS been with Arrow's work.
Now i hope that if my garage door ever acts up, it does not happen when Doug is taking his day off ! -

Doug is old-time, quality service. You won't get the cheapest price, but - as he won't hesitate to tell you - you will get a job done the right way, no shortcuts, on time, fair price. He gave me a one hour window, and showed up within the window. Don't get me started on service - I use Sears service for my washing machine: they give 4 hour windows and missed the window 3 times in a row! And it's still not working as well as it should. What a nice change to have someone show up and be DONE in an hour.
I have had Doug repair an older opener, install a new garage door opener on a different door, and now make another repair on the old opener. He had the parts with him (compare and contrast with Sears 2 week delay)
Highly recommend. -

Last Friday at 10am, when we opened our garage door, the cable on one side got unraveled and the door was basically lopsided. We were pretty stressed out since we were prepping for BF's mom's memorial service the next day. I called another company and basically he said he could not come out that day or the weekend. So we called Arrow and Doug answered the phone and said he will could come between 2-3. He was on time and fixed the cable right away, but the opener was still out, he said the motor was dead. He advised to put in a better newer one. He said he could come out the next morning. When we told him we had to go to the service he said he would come out that night and replace it. True to his word he came back in a few hours and replaced it. He was so nice and the cost was very reasonable. I am so glad we chose to call Arrow!

The owner, Doug showed up at 8pm to help us out! Our door broke in the middle of huge rain storm a few months ago and our garage belongings were getting soaked. Doug had already had a very full and busy day, but came out to help us. He was quick to diagnose and repair the problem, having our garage door working better than ever in just 20 minutes. He was such a nice guy (even at 8:30 at night) that we stood around and chatted with him for a bit when he was done. Would recommend his quick and friendly service to anyone! He could have recommended more costly repairs/replacement options, but he fixed the door and told us we had another good 5-10 years of use out of it. Thank you Doug and Arrow Garage Doors!

My garage door suddenly broke, and I couldn't even get my car out... So i looked up yelp and found Doug. He got such good reviews so i decided to give Doug a try, and sure enough, he deserves all the great ratings! Very professional, came in the same day I called him and repaired the broken parts for my garage door at a great price. He even cleaned up the floor afterwards and it was all taken care of in 20 minutes. Highly recommended and I would definitely call them again if I need help in the future.
And yes, he has a cool car! -

After many weeks of calling around different garage door companies, we were very pleased to finally settle on Arrow Garage Doors. What won us over initially was the owner, Doug. Unlike other companies that take a long time calling back, totally ignore all your calls or would rather do an estimate over the phone, Doug will answer the phone right away, answer any questions you may have and work out the best time to come by and give an estimate. This company is also extremely competitive in their pricing! Doug came last week to do an estimate, we called them back when we chose our garage door style and they got it ordered and installed two days after. Smooth, smooth, smooth, like our brand new garage door! :) We are very happy campers, indeed! Doug said that he would be at our house to do the install at 9am and would be finished by 1pm. TRUE TO HIS WORD and even early by a few minutes! Our new garage door is so beautiful that we can probably wait another year or so to get our house painted! Call ARROW if you need to fix or replace your garage door. You will not be disappointed! -

Doug is too good. I had my son open the garage just like everyday, but dont know why he decided to stop it before it went all the way up.
I did not notice that and reversed my van, and got one hinge out, thankfully my van was okay......... it seemed like a tough one. I called someone who quoted 65 service charge and additional 40 for each half hr + cost of items. Then I called Doug, he said his charges were 80 + cost of items.
He came in and boom......... he fixed it in 5 mins and knew aboslutely what he was doing. He is an old bubbly guy. He was so nice, he said this one was easy and would charge me just 40. Now, that I did not expect.

Overall, Doug comes at the promised time, very reasonable, competent and nice

Solid work. finish work in an hour.
reasonable price. service oriented.
Doug did additional sanity check/adjustment and lubrication.
The 2nd visit for the fine adjustment (1st adjustment at night, not easy to see it) with "no cost".
Glad that I was not do it by myself. It's hard to do it without the right tools for broken spring. By the way, he explains how the opener work and the maintenance. -

Doug the owner is great! He's comfortable to work with and his prices are VERY reasonable. He's been in the business for over 20 years and is very knowledgeable. VERY honest guy and very quick. I called him on a weekday because I couldn't open my garage door. I have the panels that are made of wood and it's very heavy to try to push up. He came within one hour and told me that one of my springs broke and I should replace both because the other one would probably go soon. I told him that one of the roller broke and if he could replace it. He completed the job within 30 minutes. He also checked out the rest of the system and lubed it without an extra charge. I've used him a few times and have been very happy with the service. He has a cute car too - PT Cruiser with an Arrow on top with lights and all. He made it himself. Great guy!

Used this company to fix my Garage door torsion spring. Fast response was at the house the next day could've been same day but i was at work. He took less than 30 mins to fix. I'd use them again if spring breaks or any other garage issues. Springs come with lifetime warranty...i think i just have to pay for labor

My garage door has been acting up for a couple of months now. Early Sat morning when my bro opened it the chain broke so he told me
Sat morning when I woke up what happened. I called Arrow Garage and spoke to Doug before 9AM and he told me he can come by at 6PM. He actually showed up an hr early. He told me what was wrong and I asked if he recommend the I just have him replace a new garage door opener and he said he can still fix it for half what it would have cost me to replace it new. I appreciate his honesty. He fixed the coil in my garage door last year and he did a great job then and gave me great customer service. He's currently working on it in my garage while chatting with my brother and apparently he's almost done. He's only been working on it for like 15-20 mins. I highly recommend him to anyone. Doug from Arrow Garage Doors was a pleasure to work with. He was very prompt and very friendly. He replaced our entire garage door from the old pull up door to a new, modern, beautiful automatic door. He answered all of my questions and always showed up when he said he would. He made the process very easy and his pricing was very very reasonable and it was a very personable experience! I'm glad I chose to go with him. I highly recommend him.
