Delicious! We had an assortment of items and everything was well prepared and nicely served.
It was a Friday night and it was very noisy and crowded. We had a reservation and did not have to wait long. Obviously a very popular restaurant.
Four adults, 2 children, no alcoholic beverages or dessert and the bill came to about $150.

The most appalling dining experience of my entire life, which has no baring on the service or uninspired Italian fare but solely the fault of the unwarranted, obnoxious hostility of the apparent owner, Mary.

After dining at Arpeggio for years, I'd left disappointed after a number of dining experiences which were mediocre at best about 18 months ago. This past Saturday was sunny and pleasant and my adulte daughter talked me into trying Arpeggio's once again. We stopped for lunch. We were sitting outside and two additional tables were seated after us. A number of cars parked at the curbside and the drivers got out of their cars and left the engines running. The people seated at the two other tables complained loudly and repeated to the wait staff regarding the cars parked at the curb side next to their tables. My daughter and I never said a work about the cars.

Then the so called owner, Mary, showed up and also parked curb side but did turn her engine off. She then proceeded to warmly greet the people in one of the parked cars as they loaded food into their car from Arpeggio. Moments later my daughter and I were talking to each other when the owner, Mary, was screaming that she is the owner and she can park where ever she wants to.Mary proceeded to say we had no right to say anything and that we should mind our own business. I looked from my daughter to realize that this woman was screaming at me and my daughter. I asked the owner Mary what was she talking about. She continued screaming at the two of us about our complaining about parked cars at the curbside. She continued to say she was the owner and could park where ever she wanted to. And we should keep our mouths shut.

What kind of crazy woman runs this restauran to speak to a customer that way!! In reality we had said nothing about any parked car and I told the crazed owner this. The owner essentially called me a liar. She continued to scream at me that I had complained, and that her staff had told her this. In reality the complaints had come from other customers. I told  her to bring the staff outside who told her that I had complained. The waitress came outside and did tell the owner, Mary, that we HAD NOT SAID ANYTHING!!!! The waitress confirmed that the complaints had come from other customers.

Mary finally said that OK she apologized. I am sorry but her apology meant nothing at this point. She is one crazy owner if she thinks she can speak to customers that way. She told me that she had apologized and what more did I want. With those rude comments continuring, I told Mary that she had just bought my daughter and I lunch. We stood up and left along with customers from one of the other tables which had complained  about  the parked cars.

The owner of any establishment has no right to speak to customers this way, even if the customer is in the wrong. WE WERE INNOCENT VICTIMS OF MARY'S HYSTERICAL, CRAZED RANTINGS. No one should experience this type of behavior when you go to any business establishments.

I will never go back to Arpeggio's restaurant, and will go out of my way to tell everyone I come in contact with how we were treated by this owner.

Arpeggio has been a staple in Spring House for many years.  I worked there back in the late 90's when I was in high school.  Much has changed over the years such as expanding the dining area but the core has remained the same.  The owners Mary & Hamdy are hands on and remain visible on a daily basis.

The menu has something for everyone.  Pasta, Pizza, Kabob's, sandwiches & home made pita's from their wood burning oven.   The prices are fair and the portions are perfect.  During the warmer months they have seating outside.  Make sure to bring your own libations because its BYOB.

If you plan on stopping in on a Friday or Saturday night be prepared to wait.  This place is popular and has been since it opened.

Arpeggio may be the best all around restaurant in the area.  The food is great!  The pizza IS the best in town.  Do yourself a favor and try the arpeggio or seafood they are both loaded with toppings and wonderful.  I love that its never greasy and the crust is thin and perfection.  The rest of the menu is really good to.  If your a dessert person you must try the bread pudding.

Another plus is that you can order takeout here as it can get crowded for dinner and lunch.  Call ahead if you want a table but its worth the wait.

If I could, I would give this place zero stars, actually. I can't understand all the positive reviews.

I had been at the restaurant for lunch about a year ago, and frankly found the food mediocre and the service somehwat rude. Last week I went there again with my elderly parents. They wanted to try something different from their usual haunts, so I suggested Arpeggio because it was nearly 9 pm at the time and the restarant's published hours said it was open until 10. When we arrived (at 9:20 pm, 40 minutes before closing, we were told that they would not serve us. The reason given was "we don't seat anyone in the last half hour." When we pointed out that it was still before that time, the hostess, visibly annoyed, said she would check. She emerged and said we could get salad or hummus for take out, but that was it. We told her we would never return and she shrugged and said, "OK."

I used to work in food service and I know that you never treat customers this way. Moreover, closing prior to the published time is unethical--it amounts to a lie. We resented having to drive 10 miles to be treated that way. Finally, the fact that it was completely fine with them to permanently lose us (and all our family and friends) as customers shows that customers do not matter at Arpeggio.

If I were the owner, I'd fire such a lazy and rude staff and start over.

Regular spot for my Wife and I and friends. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the way they handle seating folks when it gets busy. We've had a 75 minute, 2 bottles of wine wait on several occasions. But, after running out for more wine and a hold over order of garlic knots...it is always more than worth it.

Mussels in red sauce is expertly done. The product is fresh and the mussels are perfectly cooked.  We order them "Over the top Hot"...and they do a great job with the right balance of heat and flavor.  A few pieces of fresh, homemade foccacia bread completes the experience.  Twice after eating the mussels I tried to climb into the bowl to understand how well the mussels had it!!!!  Get extra bread because you'll want to soak up every ounce of the sauce.

We love the pizza...honestly we've had ever pie they offer and can say with certainty our favorite is ALL OF THEM.

Friday and Saturday night they have Banoffee (sp?)  A wonderful, homemade banana dessert that makes me want to move in.  It's banana, pudding, cake, whip cream, chocolate and magic...I always tell friends if they don't like the Banoffee, I'll pay for your dinner.

Go a little early, bring extra wine and enjoy!

Definitely a neighborhood gem for specialty pizza.  We try to go as often as we can though we don't eat pizza that often.

Their specialty pizzas are excellent and they are made in a wood burning oven made to top it off!

You must get the Hummus appetizer - I haven't found too many places that do it better (I know it's hummus but it's too good).  I have tried a lot of the pizzas - the Mexicana pizza is my fav.  Others to try are the Baja, Greco, Four Cheese, Buffalo & Palermo.

It is BYOB so bring a bottle of red, order a pizza and enjoy the combination!

This is a regular spot for take out, and an occasional dine on Friday nights with the crab soup. The brick oven pizza here is the best in the area. They also have great salads.

The reason for the 4 stars is the wait time to sit, and the few disappointing meals. If your not ordering pizza i feel like it can be hit or miss.

Overall a great spot to dine or take out. Relatively inexpensive.

The rococo pizza is very good. The feta added the perfect touch and the crust was flavorful and crispy. If it is your first time here, get the chicken Mykonos, hummus, and a pizza. I can assure you that it will be delicious. The wait can be very long on weekends though.

When pizza holds a prominent position on a restaurant's menu and fills a significant portion of it, one would hope for -- expect -- good pizza. When in addition, the restaurant touts its wood-burning oven, one imagines an even higher quality pie. And when one orders the pizza named after the restaurant, one would think it would be a thing of beauty.

It was not -- because good pizza requires more than words and intentions. My "Arpeggio" pizza was none of what I imagined -- tired and tough crust, dull sauce (read: opposite of bright and fresh), roasted peppers from a jar (full of that preservative taste), and a cheese, tasting of supermarket quality. I didn't finish it and didn't take any home. No rescuing it.

I also had the hummus, which was decent and lemony but also pretty small and plain - topped with 1 small olive (no olive oil?, no dusting of cayenne, paprika or sumac?). I suspect that the pita had seen the microwave, because as soon as it cooled, it toughened up to the consistency of stale cardboard (sic).  Looking around at what others ate at my table, I can't say I saw anything else that I wished I had ordered instead.

Last summer, on a hot evening, my group of 4 had a really bad meal at Arpeggio. It was wrong in so many ways, including the service, that I felt bad for our dining friends who recommended the restaurant (and who felt embarrassed, themselves). But it happens. We've all been in that position of recommending something that didn't come through. And since the owners were away, and the staff seemed to be mice at play, I decided to reserve my judgement until I could give them another try. That other try would be at lunch today. So here we are with many good comments from other reviewers -- and I don't get it. Today was chance number 2 ...and strike number 2. Baseball gives 3 but I say, "next batter".

we'd heard a lot of good things about this place and were anxious to try it.

i feel kind of bad giving it only two stars because the food lived up to expectations, it was really great.

but the service was downright awful. we ordered the combo platter and after about ten minutes or so, a busser attempted to come over and put down the pizza tray and plates for our next course. we informed him that we weren't ready and asked him to hold off a few minutes. he went across the room and had a conversation with our server who promptly came back over with the pizza tray and the plates and, without asking, just plopped the stuff down. she then asked us if we were done with our appetizer and what could we do at that point? we let her take it, even though we weren't done.

after we ate some of our pizza, we decided to box it up. we looked at the desert menu but decided we'd had enough and got the check. on our way out, we looked for a manager to talk to but couldn't figure out who was in charge. we did, however, grab a menu. the food was good enough that we'll definitely order takeout but we won't be dining here again.

The service has always been snotty, and a tad above average.  Except for Kristen, she's a doll.  The waitresses like hanging out behind the counter for some reason.  The food is good, very very fresh, a bit creative, but not over the top.  A decent BYOB if it's close to your home, but if you are going to travel, go to the city.

Lunch is my favorite meal there, although the entire menu is available all day.  Night time tends to be overcrowded and if you do not "call ahead" the wait on a nice evening will cause anxiety.

Went on a busy Friday night. Service was NOT good other than our bus girl - EMILY who totally rocked. We were wishing She was our server.
Told her we'd come back when she got promoted. We mean it!
And who do restaurants think they are adding 20% gratuity  (5 adults & 1 kid) and NOT even telling us? Guess they were hoping for the "double tip" which we ALL have unknowingly done........
Food was very average IF THAT.  I never met a brick oven pizza I didn't like - til that night - isn't it suppose to be crispy? Husband said his steak was good - YAY b/c nothing else was.  Grilled Calamari should be firm in texture not soggy which mine was. I regret not sending it back - what was I thinking?
The good part is the place is BYOB. maybe if you drink enough you won't notice the food/service.............

    Super fresh ingredients.
I think the sampler plate is a must - falafel is great, so is the hummus. Nice pita too.
I also had the shrimp and scallop pesto pasta which was great.

I live in Philly downtown and I think that although not at par with some of the best that Philly has to offer, Arpeggio does hold it's own in the "burbs" :)

Arpeggio is just an upscale Olive Garden- unimaginative, tacky, low quality, inauthentic food. The only difference is it's more expensive, and that is certainly not a mark of the food being any better. The pasta is consistently overcooked and lost in whatever cream sauce or dressing they glop on. As my noodles drowned in what should've been a light garlic aioli, so did any hope that I'd find a place in the tri-county area capable of making a pasta dish better than I could at home.

As for the "brick oven" claims, I'll believe it when I see it. I am suspicious the pizza is pulled out of a freezer and microwaved on one of those grey "crisping trays" that come with your Bagel Bites.

This one star is nothing to do with the service, which is decent as the place is inexplicably busy. I'm considering opening up a restaurant just to save the dignity of Italian food in the Philly burbs.

Hummus and warm pita bread!!! I'm salivating at the moment(ew) just after I wrote the very first sentence. Their hummus is soooo good. Don't need cucumbers and other shananigans that other restaurants give when you order their hummus because this hummus is THAT good. Arpeggio is one place I truly miss about living in Ambler. Their pesto sauce is ridiculously delicious and I love just about any of their salad choices. Usually, I have no room to eat pizza but I still gorge on that because it's just so good. It's also a BYOB. There's an outdoor seating with clean air(compared to center city). Plus their friendly service is really cherry on top of everything. What's a reason not to go? NADA.

If you were too lazy to read the above, the keywords are: DELICIOUS, BYOB, OUTDOOR SEATING, and HUMMUS.

PS. They offer their pita bread in either wheat or white. Wheat pita bread is really awesome.

I live down the street from Arpeggios. Just love the place. I have ordered many different entrees, pizzas, salad, appetizers from here - dining in and take out. It's busy most of the time - especially on the weekends. If you take out from here (which you have to pick up, they don't have delivery) its usually an average 30 minute wait for the evening time. This to me is pretty good for such a busy place. Definitely a "must-go" for anyone new to the area. Furthermore, its a definite for those who have lived in the area for a while and have still not gone - which is probably like 5% of the Montgomery County population.

    A couple of notes:
    - Only take reservations for parties over 6 people.
    - Getting a table here at night is really difficult (sometimes impossible). There is ALWAYS a long wait.
    - It really is best for TAKE-OUT.
    - It is a BYOB.
    - If you go there enough you can purchase yourself a little chic looking bin to store a bottle of wine in.

My Favorite BYOB!!!  This is an awesome Greek restaurant and with personal wine lockers too.

The baba ganush is like no other I have tasted and the combo platter lets you experience all of the great Greek appetizers.  They have options such as whole wheat dough, and non- fat cheese.   The wood burning oven pizzas are awesome and the cajun chicken style caesar salad is a personal favorite.  I would also recommend the chicken kabob, crab cakes, and curry chicken pasta.

The only bad thing I have to say is even though they have expanded once its still a small place.  We waited an hour once to sit exactly 6 inches from the table next to us which is kind of awkward.

This is a place we enjoy taking customers for work as its delightful, especially the outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

As Tracy says, others have said it all. Fresh ingredients, good service, nice Mediterranean fare.

My only complaint is the layout of the menu. The one they present to you (the single sheet) presents good items with an obvious higher margin than some of the stuff inside the bound menu (e.g., sandwiches, which are equally good).  Once I learned this, I save $5 on lunch many times.

Arpeggio's is definitely one of the best byob's around. Their menu is unique and I always have difficulty deciding. The salads always sound amazing but we tend to go later at night so unfortunately my greens are never as fresh as I'd like them. The house dressing has way too much garlic in it, so be warned. The falafel also has too much garlic. My stomach is still burning. But their pita and hummus is wonderful and from when I ate seafood the crab cake and grilled calamari were really good. The has never really impressed me because there are a few really good brick oven pizzerias around. We love the outdoor seating and the fact that it is a byob! So we prefer to go in the summer, but the atmosphere inside is really nice too. I've heard that the deserts are amazing but their portions are always so large I've not been able to finish them let alone get dessert.

Awesome place, surprised it has not been reviewed more. I have been a regular for quite some time and Arpeggio has been consistently great. All the food is very tasty, they use top quality ingredients and everything is made in house so nothing has a generic flavor; if for some reason there is something wrong with your food one of the two owners are usually around and more than happy to accommodate you. As mentioned it gets very busy during lunch and weekends/holidays, waits of 1-1.5+hrs are normal; they only take reservations for parties of 6+, so get there early. For the most part the waitresses are all friendly and provide good service, even when it's very busy. The place is small and they pack people in so do not plan on a quiet romantic evening unless you go after 9:30.

I have tried just about everything on the menu and all of it really is very good. They serve a mix of pizza, mediterranean fare, and greek, they also have several healthy and vegetarian options. If it's your first time definitely try the hummus or baba and a pizza, you can't go wrong. In general I prefer the cheaper entrees as the fish and meat is slightly overpriced, though it is still very good. It's BYO also so do not forget your own alcohol!

I do like this place and go a lot for my lunch break but only because it's close. The food is good. I love the hummus! The service varies but isn't the best most of the time. My waitresses just do the bare minimum work and aren't really that personable. In the warmer months it's nice to sit outside but if you sit inside beware... Flies come in. The last time I was at Arpeggios there were about three flies circling my table the whole time: annoying. I do enjoy this place for the most part but it's nothing amazing.

Went to Arpeggio's on a Friday Night at about 7pm.  We were seated quickly and the service was great which prompts me to give 5 stars in those categories.  The prices were also very reasonable.  We got the Baba Ganush as an appetizer and the Seafood pizza.  Both were very good.  My disappointment was the menu.  I went in the mood for an Italian dish.  The fact that there was no Italian dish that screamed "Get Me" was what led me to give 3 stars.   We will go back but only when we are in the mood for pizza, not an Italian meal.

Delightful BYO with delicious food.  I love how they encompass different Mediterranean flavors, from pasta, to pizza, to middle eastern specialties.  Food is fresh and flavorful, service is attentive.  Be prepared for a wait on a Saturday night (which is made easier with your own wine and their hot garlic rolls.)

Other than BYOB we were unhappy last time there. Service was lousy, they had a shower in next room and tables were limited as was service. Food was ok but uneventful. Our first few times at this restaurant with friends definitely better, not sure we'll return.

Why did it take us so long to find Arpeggios?  This is such a nice local restaurant.  We love the fresh hummus and ww pita to start the meal off.  The cajun chicken is my favorite and my husband loves the lobster ravioli.  Their salads are yummy too, especially the warm goat cheese salad.  The staff is always welcoming and good at accommodating your preferences.  Carolyn gave us great service on a recent visit.  Last Fall we had a memorable meal one cool evening with friends.  The patio heaters made it possible to squeeze in one more meal outside.

Wow.  What other accolades can I post about Arpeggio that hasn't already been said?!  I'm pleased that this is my neighborhood restaurant.  We quite often get take-out pizza from here.  My favorite Wood Burning Oven Pizza is the Margarita on whole wheat with onions and garlic (About $11 for a large, I believe.)  For an appetizer, you can't beat the $14 Combo platter which includes a variety of Mediterranean staples.  Whether you eat in or take out, the food quality is amazing and I find that the prices are fair, a tremendous value.  It is a BYOB and there is outside seating.  It can get very crowded and I believe they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more.  However, they will gladly open up your bottle of wine and give you glasses so you can enjoy your vino while waiting for a table.  They provide a giant bowl of fresh garlic knots to munch on while waiting as well.  They do have wine lockers, but I have not inquired about that so I do not know those details.  I can't stress enough that this is one of my favorite restaurants.  I have never had a bad dish or a bad experience.  Since it is so popular locally, you do need to be strategic about when you visit to dine in.  If you are impatient, try to go at a non-peak time or get take-out.  They do accept credit cards and there is free parking.  Please visit Arpeggio.  I have every confidence that you will love this place as much as I do.

Thank you to Mary, the owner of Arpeggio's for contacting me - this truly meant a lot and really showed the true way a restaurant is managed. This is the first time that after a bad experience I was contacted by an owner - this shows how important good customer service is to her. To my knowledge a few things have been changed - and in the future I would like to give Arpeggio's another try...

arpeggio's is my absolute favorite byob!  i try to get here at least once a month.  amazing menu, everything is so fresh and you can just tell everything is made to order.  the summertime is the best time to go because of the outside seating.  bring a bottle or two of wine, good company and enjoy!

My family and I ate at Arpeggio's the other night for an early dinner and we had a very good time .Arpeggio's is a BYOB so that's always a plus, There is plenty of parking out front and they do have outdoor seating for the spring and summer time. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The waitress was very attentive without being annoying. All the waitresses were easy on the eyes which can never hurt.  The food overall was very good except for the pizza. Which is odd because they have a wood burning oven so you think that would have been the best bet maybe it was a fluke.  The Chicken parmesan and pesto pasta dishes were well liked. The tables are on the small side and they are  close together. Since we dined early it wasn't a problem but when full the restaurant probably gets a little loud. We shared two deserts (brownie sundae, and chocolate cake). Both were simple but very delicious. Overall I would definitely go back especially during a nice spring evening.
