When I visit family in OK...this is my spot for breakfast. Back in the day when I lived here, this quaint down home diner became a hit with our family. Simply great food! I'm a fan for life. Friendly service, no frills, just full bellies.

Now, maybe some of the locals in Edmond don't like this place (so I heard), but I sure did. It seemed like the place had been there forever, the striped formica tabletops worn within an inch of their lives (I was in heaven).
I played it safe (since I'd eaten too much this trip already) and ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. Plain and boring you're thinking - right? Well you'd be dead wrong in this instance. This was no ordinary chicken sandwich - I don't know what the difference was, but it was delicious. I brought my husband with me the second trip, and he agreed. -

I'm not sure there's any truth about the rumor that locals don't like this place, from the previous review. I was introduced to it by a local, my cousin. The service was excellent depite it being a busy morning. I had french toast and scrambled eggs, with coffee and milk to wash it down. You get plenty of food for the money, I got 4 slices of french toast and there was plenty of powdered sugar on top. A drenching of maple syrup, nicely warmed, completed my sugar intake for the day. The eggs were good, maybe not as fluffy as they could be, but were tasty. The coffee was strong and the milk was cold, so no complaints there. I cleaned my plate and was thoroughly full for most of the day. The place has a great old style ambiance, with the faded floors, various knick knaks on the walls, and the antique cash register up front. I recommend it to anyone who is hungry and in the area.

I have been eating breakfast on Saturday mornings at Around the Corner for at least 9 years now. I love the place. Food is consistently good there. Charlotte (the owner) is a wonderful woman and Sue and Pat (the waitresses) are awesome. I'm sure there are people that don't like this style of restaurant, it's got an older feel to it and yes, there is grease involved, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
