I was looking for a place that was affordable and convenient to where my friend and I were for a late lunch. Thanks to Yelp I found Aromas del Peru. It was exactly what we were looking for. We ordered 1/2 a jarra de sangria and it was very good though I like my sangria with the fruit. We had the shrimp and fish ceviche, the lomo saltado and the tacu tacu it was all very good - the lomo was a tad too salty.

It really was a good place and would go back for if I am in the area. It is very popular as it was full and had to wait for a table even though I went during an off time. Since my friend and I were catching up, we ended up lingering for a bit after we finished lunch and I didn't like that they were rushing us out. Even trying to clear our table when we were still picking at our food - very big portions. And bringing us the check when we did not ask for it. At that point the place had already emptied out. A little annoying but not enough to ruin the experience.

You are always assured an above average Peruvian dinner at ADP. The ceviche is fresh, the jaleas are of the charts good, the arroz chaufa is well made and very hearty ( a huge portion).  Price wise it cant be beat, and in this economy we all can use a place that offers good food at a great price.
Last night for dinner I had the grilled Corvina which was delicious, for dessert the suspiro limeno (appeared store bought and not home made) which was a downer.
Overall great place that I have been to many many times and plan to return many many more times

This place is my  favorite peruvian restaurant in Miami, I like plenty of others here but this one never fails, it is a small place but the service is great, portions are huge and the prices are just right for peruvian in Miami. The only thing I am not crazy about and the reason why I don't give it 5 stars is that I do not particularly care for the ceviche but by all means try everything else, the lomo saltado, tallarines verdes con churrasco, arroz con mariscos, causa, etc.

They also have like a mini store where you can get your peruvian fix of candy (cua cua's, dona pepas, alfajores, etc)

I absolutely love this place.  The service is great and the food is amazing. Most of the portions are pretty big, but the appetizers are perfect for a meal or to share. I have never left this place without a doggy bag, and the leftovers usually gone in the same night. The menu is pretty extensive, and even if you don't speak a word of Spanish (I'm pretty much a Gringa), you can read and order from it. I absolutely  love octopus and ceviche, and this place has delicious plates featuring both.

The only downside is the parking - the lot is insanely small. They do have a drive-thru window, which has always struck me as a bit odd. The take-out is just as good as the food when you eat there, though.

If you love Peruvian food, or have never tried Peuvian food, go to Aromas del Peru - you won't be disappointed.

Tuesday night 9:00 pm and the place is crowded. That is a good sign.
The causa was good, the ceviche de pescado was very fresh and pretty good but not as good as Farolito's version. The sopa de pollo was fair. the wine selection was very limited (one white) and over priced for this type of restaurant. The menu tells you that the tip is included on the bill, so as is typical for that type of situation, the service is pretty poor. No need to try if you know you are going to get a tip. Unless the restaurant takes part of it, which pisses the servers off even more. Bad policy.
I would return to try some of the other ceviche versions.

We found this place after I got obsessed with finding ceviche places in Miami (the joys of unemployment....)

Aromas del Peru was one of the places I found so one day decided to check it out. The place is tiny, but very quaint. That time we went it was packed, so I would suggest making a reservation if possible.

The ceviche was excellent, really fresh and tasty. And for the price??? You can't beat it! Portions are quite big, so you can split a couple of appetizers and that would be more than enough.

Bon Apetit!

My friends and I were driving down 8th street one night starving and looking for a place to eat. We spotted Aromas del Peru and even though no one had heard of the place, we decided to go for it. This restaurant definitely exceeded our expectations. The food is delicious. The ceviche was very fresh. We ordered the specials and they were all tasty. The one recommendation I would make is to maybe share plates, especially if it's only two people dining. The plates are big, especially the ceviche. If you order the ceviche as an appetizer for only two people, you will be full before you order the main course. Also, I recommend the suspiro if you like very sweet desserts- it's very good.

I am the luckiest to live blocks away from Aromas del Peru on 8th Street. This restaurant has been serving traditional Peruvian food for years, and to their credit, I must say it's the best Peruvian restaurant in Miami. They have the best "aji de gallina", creamy, meaty and plentiful; "seco de res", with tasty canary beans from Peru, not regular white beans; "tallarin saltado de carne", which is linguine pasta mixed with the base of a "lomo saltado" so it's juicy with lots of meat, onions and tomatoes. They also have a no nonsense "jalea mixta" with all types of seafood; "ceviche" which is fresh and has a clean taste; soups, desserts, and the list goes on. Based on food taste, selection of dishes, menu, portion size, price and consistency, it's a 5 star restaurant.
Then why not give them 5 stars? Well, service is not the best, although it is very good. It is not that the waiters are incompetent, but not what you expect at a 5 star restaurant. One time the A/C vent started leaking on my table, and they told me to move the table. Funny, ah? Also, looks are not the best, although they can accommodate, and other minor issues, like a lotto machine on the premises, something you will never find at 5 stars restaurants.
Overall, I would say that if you want to enjoy an excellent and tasty meal, you should give this restaurant a try. If you are Peruvian and have been looking for some great food, you have to stop by. But if you are looking for the South Beach or Coral Gables experience, you may find some shortcomings to your sensibilities.

looks nicer inside than outside.
Maybe it's a converted Wendy's drive through
had chicharron de pescado -- soft inside, fried outside, perfect corvina
also tried tamal de pollo (not sure if I like the leaf flavor), and cancha -- like small corn-nut kernels

had the rellena de atuna -- ok as a starter salad but not necessary
tried the cebiche mixto -- nice corn and yam on the side
arroz chaufa de mariscos -- massive, i mean the rice on this plate can feed an entire family
plus they have the great little crab, though the rice as a little salty
their chicha morada is on the sweet side with a hint of cinnamon
not many seats, so can be crowded but great service

This is one of those places you go once in a while....TONS of food!!! We went there the first time after hubby's good friend highly recommended it....we were not disappointed.  The place is small and very casual, service was good and the food was great......they have a fish plate (sorry, forgot the name) that comes covered with seafood BUT, let me tell you something....it's not like these little bits of seafood on top of your fish..NO!!! it's like TONS and TONS of shrimp/lobster/mussels/crabmeat and the likings to the point that you can hardly see your fish and the flavor is OMG good........now I'm hungry and I wanna go back.

I visited this restaurant again today!. Wow! the food and the service were an A+. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce (camarones al ajo) , it was served with rice and baked potatoes. The taste was amazing!
My parents ordered the new dish called "piqueo criollo";  consisted of four different appetizers: papa a la huancaina, ocopa, ceviche and octopus in black olives sauce. They were also very please with it. Our waiter was so polite and attentive he deserved more than 15% tip. Even though the place was packed, the food didn't take long.
They will definitely see my face here again!

I REALLY REALLY REALLY like this place.
i come here as often as possible.  last time i came for a lunch meeting, we had a special dish that consisted of grilled octopus, calamari, skewered chicken and churrasco.  if anyone can make octopus taste like the best piece of steak you've ever had in your life, they can.

the food here is always super fresh -- and i'm so happy this restaurant put me on to peruvian food.  (now if i could only get them to build one in aventura... hmmmm)

When my hubby and I moved from our apt. on 8th street to Biscayne corridor there was one thing we both knew we would miss tremendously - aromas!! the jalea here is a perfect exaggeration! a mound of delicious and fresh seafood fried with pickled red onions. their ceviches are among my favorites...and their tacu tacu is the best i've ever had. honestly, i give this place only 4 stars because it is a very cramped space and the service can be a little off some nights. they are opening a deli next door soon, and while i have NO idea what a peruvian deli can offer (im guessing ceviche??) i will be more than willing to make the drive and find out what a peruvian deli is all about!

So I thought - wow everyone seems to give this place two thumbs up. What a let down.

I travel to Lima roughly twice a year every year and I eat and eat and eat to my heart's content. I know my food, I know what to compare it to and I know when I have found something incredible or at least worth it.

We ordered the ceviche tri color, my ceviche was over cooked and was very mediocre at best. I hate when my ceviche is fully cooked let alone over cooked. The three different sauced left much to be desired and just didn't make me want to finish my food. To me, when a restaurant gives me that feeling is a devastating blow.

The choritos a la chalaca came, with sweet corn as opposed to real Peruvian corn, and that was the first set back. Then it comes in this pool of overly acidic lime juice. It was so bitter and we couldn't even consume it.

Needless to say we didn't bother ordering anything else because it was just not worth our money or time.

I can happily say I won't be coming here any time soon.

This place has the best beans I've had in my entire life.  You can select from either white or black, and from what I understand, Peruvians don't even really eat beans, so go figure.  The ceviche and the huancainas are delicious and the seafood, in general is very tasty and well prepared.  I recommend you get there early, seating is limited but worth the cramped quarters.

So I would have given this place five stars, but when I ordered,  they didn't have my first choices. It was four pm on saturday, they  didn't have tamales, aji de gallina, the arroz con pato. The ceviche de pescado is amazing and the portions are huge. all in all , two thumbs up, just like previous reviews mentioned, very cramped inside if it's full.

This place is great, the service is attentive, the food is always well prepared and the atmosphere is of a lovingly made over fast food joint (Kentucky Fried?) with wood accents (nicely done).  I had ordered for delivery a few times and the food was always quite good (and since I lived in Lima a few years it is no small feat to impress me with Peruvian food).  The "chupe de camarones" (creamy shrimp soup) is particularly good.  The ceviche is fine and the arroz chaufa is okay.  All in all this is a good choice for a meal, I was surprised that no one had previously reviewed it (but now twice in twelve hours) ...
