Review from James H.

My initial impressions were bad. I was handed a "latte" in a paper cup with copious, big bubbled, bland foam. For a cafe that advertises their coffee as "gourmet" this is unacceptable. After I had finished my cup and mellowed out, my opinion had improved. Let's be honest, finding good espresso is more than difficult. If it's better than Starbucks, consider yourself lucky.
Not only do they serve coffee, but they sell pastries. I didn't get a chance to try one, but they looked delicious. They also have some fantastic looking pies. On top of sweets, they have a wide range of appetizers and a nice selection of entrees. Wednesday is open mic night here, another attraction similar restaurants don't offer.
As far as atmosphere goes, it's in a nice location next to a large fountain. The decor is typical coffee shop design, not a bad thing. There is plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor. It's worth a visit if you're in the area. -

Whenever I'm back in the 757, I always make sure to get my Aromacinno fix. Can't vouch for their other coffees here since I've never tried them, but if you're in the mood for a frozen concotion, I'd recommend trying their Aromacinno! Food on the other hand is hit or miss. Their Thai wrap is good but I've also had some bland food here.

Great place to grab a cup of coffee for the road! 15 minute parking curbside is a plus when you're in a rush!

The aroma was enticing all around the city center and drew you into the cafe. There is outside seating with a view of the pond and fountain in the middle of the city. Inside it is warm and comfortable. The counter sits in the middle of the shop so there is room for intimate conversations and for groups to sit and talk.
Great place to hang out with friends and a good cappuccino or to sit and study. -

I've been going here every week for my knitting group. Most of the staff are nice. It is very cold in there because of the fans and air conditioner. Also the bathrooms are kind of yucky. The drinks I have had are good. I like the peanut butter and chocolate shake. Good food too.

When it comes to studying, coffee houses are my friends because the aroma of coffee always gets me kickin'. Aroma's coffee aroma was amazing. There was even free wireless! Every coffee loving student's dream come true- coffee, food, and internet all in one place. The only downside to my visit was the HONEY latte. I was super excited because I love honey but this drink was just too sweet! In fact, I had to pour some of it out and add more coffee to dilute it. So, if you're looking for a place to hang out or study, AROMA's is for you. Just stay away from the honey latte.

This is a nice, large coffee shop with food and such. The service is a little curt, which is ok sometimes and annoying sometimes (like, what are you in such a hurry about, no one else is?). The food has been tasty enough, although I'm not sure I'd go miles and miles out of my way for it. The space is very wide open, which I find a little cold and impersonal but they've obviously tried to make it more hip and homey.

Aroma's is right on the circle with the fountain in Newport News Town Center. Their vegetarian cheese melt is pretty tasty: good bread, good amounts of cheese, and a delicious pickle on the side, but you might find it overpriced at $6.99. I only had a sip, but the coconut milkshake was pretty good too (and/but very sugary). Free refills on the iced tea, which is nice, and you can sit outside and watch the beautifulish people pass by. Ambiance is coffee-house, but with enough space that everyone isn't on top of one another.

Not bad. I stopped in here with my lady after lunch for a decaf. Free refills on mine. I can't remember if she had the same deal or not. Nice atmosphere and it is right in the middle of city center makes for some nice scenery.
