Greek, Vietnamese, Japanese...now a Thai place!  It keeps getting better for I.B.!

I'm just happy that Imperial Beach is now getting a wider array of flavors and options.  I always hated having to drive half way across San Diego just to give my taste buds a tease of different flavors every now and then.  When I first walked in I was pretty confused because the ambiance does not match the food at all.  The decor is very American bread and breakfast with spring colors, flowers, and full dinner settings on every table.

I love Thai food and this place isn't too bad.  The pad thai was decent but the pad see-ew was even better.  I wouldn't waste my time getting the fried spring rolls/egg rolls, because well, they're just not that good.  The green curry is great through.  You can't go wrong there.  They also offer really good lunch specials during the week so go check that out.  The people that work there are very nice and kind.  I encourage people to go there and try it out!

We are staying right across from this restaurant and I love Thai. It was definitely not the best but it hit the spot. The interior is simple and nice and the wait staff was attentive and friendly.

It by far had the best fresh Vietnamese spring rolls I've ever had. Large and made with fresh rice paper, inside, was shrimp, basil, carrot, lettuce, mint and cilantro. Ask for the chili sauces to spice up the peanut sauce and mmmm good.

We also had the Roasted duck curry with Pineapple which was tasty although the duck was a little over cooked in my opinion. The Cut up Catfish was good but not the best I've ever had, we also tried the curry dumplings which were a first for all of us but they were good also. Overall I would go back again to ease the Thai bug.

I.B and Thai cusine don't seem to go togther, but there is a place folks! Only Thai restaurant on Seacoast Dr. which is mainly populated with pizza, bar/grill food and Mexican food joints.

Been there about three times and tried their tom kha gah soup (tasty, chicken a little overcooked), yellow curry (good), thai chicken salad (plain, not worth it), pad thai noodles (good), mango sticky rice (yum, very craveable).

The restaurant itself is cute and cozy. It's like a beach bungalow, colorful bathroom, staff is friendly.

Aroma Thai has always treated me well.  The last thing I tried was spicy basil with pork and tofu.  Delicious!  All of the appetizers and desserts are good as well.  The place usually isn't too crowded, which is why I like Imperial Beach in general.

After you eat you can walk along the beach and not be around a crowd of annoying people like at other beaches!

After spending over 10 years in what I consider the home of amazing Thai delights (Seattle, WA) I believe that my standards run a little high. I've visited many places in San Diego that people rave about and feel that they are woefully overrated and overpriced.

Little Aroma Thai, located in the charming squalor of Imperial Beach isn't going to be the place that changes my opinion but it's decent, well-priced and clean.

My spicy basil veggie dish with mock chicken was well-seasoned and fresh and served with rice, a tiny cup of interesting broth, and a wee spring roll for a measly $6.95. A Thai coffee for $2 and I had a nice lunch well outside the confines of any box for around $12.

The reason I couldn't give this nugget more stars was the Pad Thai. TOO SWEET.
Me no likey, please stop making Pad Thai a dessert!  Please?

On a completely unrelated and unimportant note the ladies room is a delight. Someone sniffed an entire tube of craft glue then went bananas in a Michael's and lo and behold, the Aroma Thai toilet.
Did I mention how clean it was?

Stopped by here when I was in IB over the weekend. It is located right across the street from the water. IB is personally my least favorite beach in San Diego, so I was surprised to find a Thai restaurant near by. They carry Thai sake! I tried the Pad See Eww noodles and the Spicy Thai Fried Rice. I liked the Spicy Thai Fried rice, the noodles were not the best, and I certainly have had my taste of better Thai cusine. Hmm, after we were done with our meal we found a tiny hair in the food that was left over. YACK! Eh, I was through with the food afer that.

Inside the decor is funky. Let's see... it's like a cross between country and beach decor. Very odd for a Thai restaurant.

A quiet little restaurant, hidden away in Imperial Beach. I really enjoyed the Yellow Curry, some of the best I've ever had. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. If you're in the area and looking for something different, I recommend Aroma Thai.

Their food is outstanding, their service great. We usually take away from this restaurant, though eating in is a good option too! It's nice to have a non-Mexican restaurant in IB and one with such great food!!

On one hand I'm surprised this place hasn't been reviewed yet, but on the other it makes sense. This great Thai restaurant is located right on the beach, and yet every time I've been there it's mostly deserted. They were closed for a while for redecoration and just recently reopened. I'm not really sure if Southern Country Kitchen decor screams Thai food, but whatever makes them happy, I guess....

Either way, definitely check this place out if you're in the south bay/Coronado area and want some good Thai food.

A friend and I were shopping at the outlets and decided to try a new local place to eat.  So, we braved IB and came across Aroma Thai.  We went in around 8:30pm and were the only ones there.  Our host/waiter was very friendly, spoke fluent english, and made our experience quite plesant.

The interior decoration, as noted below, was a quaint combination of Laura Ashley country (think long white wooden benches with floral patterned pillows) and traditional asian.  I found it homey and welcoming, even though it was in a Thai place.

Our appetizer, the Triangle Chicken, was quite good.  It was a nicely fried triangle-shaped dumpling filled with ground chicken, and was served with a tasty sweet, fruity peanut sauce.

Our entrees came out shortly after we finished our appetizer.  I ordered the Pad See Iew with chicken and shrimp, and my friend ordered the Spicy Basil with chicken.  My dinner was nicely presented and had lots of veggies, tons of noodles, and plenty of chicken and shrimp.  I thought the seasoning was quite good, and I have no complaints.  My friend said his food was at least the second best he's had in San Diego, possibly the best.

Overall, we both really liked our meals, thought the prices were reasaonable, the waiter was great, and the atmosphere inviting.  I recommend Aroma Thai and plan on returning.

its good.  that's it.

I tried the spicy thai rice and the see iew noodles.  The chicken tasted sorta funky in the noodles.  I'll probably stick to beef or pork next time.

Customer service was weird.  She didn't speak too much english or something.  Kept coming over to refill our waters but that' pretty much it.   Never asked us if we needed anything else.  I am surprised my bladder didn't explode from all the water she gave us.

Overall its good.  Check out the bathroom it's pretty funny.  Don't worry it's clean/  Just take a look haha.

I'm home visiting from Seattle, I want Thai food my parents are what you want Panda Express food?  No Thai food, like from Thailand not the mall.  My father remembered this place and so we went.  We pull into the parking lot and I said I wanted Thai food not Mexican, I was quickly informed it changed a while back.  Every visit something else is something new, anyways.  For San Diego's South Bay home of the 24 hour taco shop on every corner and Panda Express this place wasn't bad.  It was better than I expected and the staff was very friendly and when bell peppers showed up in my dish when the menu did not say they were in there they quickly corrected the situation by making me a new dish and didn't charge us for it.  Now when I'm home visiting the family and craving Thai food I have a place close to them that I can get a quick Phad Thai and Tom Kha fix.

Wow!  Someone likes the glue gun!!  As far as decorat'n goes this place deserves a 9 at least!  Food-wise I was pleasantly surprised to find such delicious Thai food on the beach.  The lunch special included a wonderful soup, spring roll, salad and an entree.  The food was fresh, colorful and perfectly cooked.  The service was excellent and in reference to other reviews... you know, look outside, you're clearly not in Phuket, Thailand so sit back, relax and enjoy what is the best Thai food you can get in a tacky little southern California town.

I recently had lunch here and loved it. I was surprised at how clean and cute it was inside. My lunch dish came with an egg roll, a wonton & a very tasty soup/broth. Only $6.95! I was very pleased. I definately recommend it. Great service too. All in all a very nice experience tucked away in IB. Can't wait to go back.
