My friends raved about the original restaurant located in the valley so when I heard a new one opened up, I made a point of bringing my family to try different things.

Hands down, order the ahi tuna hummus appetizer. It's soo FRIGGIN DELICIOUS and UNIQUE COMBO!  Add a side of hummus and the generous portion and yummy experience will be enough for three people to feast.  The salads and panini were decent, too. Forget what we ordered (this review is long overdue) but remember they were tasty and also generously sized-- the panini came with ample portion of veggies. Skip the kebab entree; there are far better Turkish, Greek, and Persian restaurants in LA for this.

Guess it just comes down to ordering the right things and going back to basics for food here.  Maybe the restaurant will get a clue from all the negative reviews and downsize their menu, too.   By the way, the desserts looked incredibly decadent and potentially amazing.

Hm. Would you rather have a beautiful menu with lush photographs of food or a simple sheet with text?

Only if the former resulted in equally appetizing food, of course.

Unfortunately this is not the case with Aroma Bakery Cafe. Despite its great location, ample patio and indoor seating, the food isn't up to par with these other characteristics.

I came here for brunch the first time and I had the spirella (sp?) which was decently good although I couldn't quite figure out what the cream sauce was... it was a bit oily. My boyfriend had a tuna salad and we found a bug in it.

The second time we came for dinner and I was craving soup. Specifically, I was craving soup in a bread bowl, and I didn't want The Farm's corn chowder, so I ordered the French Onion with the puff pastry sheet (which took an extra 15 minutes to bake, by the way) ,and when it arrived, I found it too salty. Too, too salty and there was too much cornstarch in it? The texture wasn't quite right. Moreover, the waitress said there would be a lot of cheese and a lot of onions, but in reality, there was a lot of cornstarch and a lot of salt. My boyfriend had the chicken pesto which was mediocre and also too salty.

The dessert menu is intense, and being a big advocate of the final course aka dessert, my mouth wouldn't stop salivating as I flipped through their Coffee & Dessert menu. The only dessert I tried last time was the caramel cheesecake, which was too sweet, even for me.

Such a shame because I really wanted to like Aroma. But you know what, they're open until 4am, so I probably need to come here buzzed or close to drunk. Doesn't food usually taste better at that time anyways?

I gave aroma three chances to prove themselves before i could no longer give them anymore chances. the food here is absolutely awful!!! disgusting.
The first time I went with my boyfriend. He had a grilled eggplant dish and I had a salad with mushrooms and "garlic sauce" little did I know the mushrooms where sauteed and served on my greens with sauce that wasn't even remotely garlic sauce. It was water from the mushrooms.
The warm mushrooms and heavy "sauce" weighed down my greens on my salad and I was eating withered down greens. My boyfriends eggplant was good but the salad that came with it wasn't even seasoned at all. no dressing no nothing the rest of the stuff on his plate was unrecognizable and flavorless. neither of us finished our meal.

The second time  I went was with a couple friends. I decided to give aroma a chance. Maybe it was a bad day the first time I went. So now I ordered the eggs "roasted" sunny side up in a tomato sauce. This made no sense. the eggs cant be roasted and still be sunny side up. they would be cooked through if that were the case. Anyway when I go my dish, as soon as I saw it, I could tell it was completely over cooked. served with flavorless pita bread. the tomato sauce itself was not seasoned correctly and unbelievably overcooked. for dessert I ordered Turkish coffee. watered down so much I couldn't finish it. and it wasn't even strained. all the ground coffee sat at the bottom of my cup. it was awful.

the third time my friend ordered take out for me. Greek food this time. couscous was not cooked properly and again, no flavor. the stuffed grape leaves were soggy and tasted absolutely horrific. and the feta cheese omg i dint even know what cheese that was because it didn't taste like feta at all. there was some eggplant in there i think that tasted like something you would pour in your car's engine. I couldn't even eat it I through the whole thing away. luckily I took the food home first and my friend wasn't there to see me toss the food out.
this restaurant has the worst food I've ever tasted. i tried to give them a three chances and they failed all of them. the servers are nice though.
this restaurant i wont recommend to anybody. absolutely horrible.

I can't believe how big the portions are here and how busy it was on a Saturday night! Definitely, try the eggplant sandwich and a creme brulee to wash it down!

People come here for seeking different things
- some like to people watch
- some like to order green leaves and chew them like a goat so that they can spoil themselves with dessert
- some come here to just chill because it's the one of the popular chill places that's actually open late.

I came here for the coffee. and to do things #1 and #3 from above.

Coffee here is super watered down.  Even the turkish one that calls for extra ground coffee is watered down and served to you in a glass.  WTF? No cups? no saucers? how am I supposed to read my fortune?

I would have given them less stars, but we didn't have too much of an issue with the service and the soufflé made up for it.

If you come here to try one thing - get that.  Bring your own coffee if you have to, but definitely try the soufflé at least once.   The hot chocolate in the middle makes the ice cream melt into a decadent combination that is so good, it must be savored slowly.

Other than that, 3 stars.

This place is just like many of the transplants that come to Hollywood from other places, pretty on the outside, but bad personality. The place looked promising, especially with all the people chilling on the outside. I laugh at the other reviews that give this place 2 or less stars because what was said is so true.  We were greeted by a waitress who had dead eyes, we waited for everything from the silverware, to the water, to the entree, to the check.  The waitress never cracked a smile and didn't really seem to care we were there.  All the entrees seemed way overpriced, so we settled on splitting the BBQ wrap...eh. It was dry.  All the wait staff looked alike...dead eyes, no emotions.  With all the bad reviews this place is getting, I can't believe people still come here to eat.  Never again.

After walking by this place and catching its AROMA, I figured I had to try it at least once before I placed a check next to its name and considered it a done deal.  Of course, this time around was a date for coffee so Aroma was very appropriate.  After asking if we could sit outside on street level, the answer was, of course but you cannot order alcohol.

wait, what?  you serve alcohol at a bakery?  I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised since I see that Aroma is open and busy well after most nightlife is closed.  Wow.  Gold star for coolness for Aroma.

After reading some of these other reviews, I consider myself lucky to have had a waitress who was attentive and polite.  She was a little too attentive for my taste, but I'm from the east coast.  meh.

The food was great.  This is a bakery.  I was not expecting the full, 15-page dinner menu to choose from.  I was pleased with the sweet potato fries.

My date and I decided on one of the cheesecakes to share.  Oddly, I was really surprised when I didn't like it.  The ground did not move.  For a bakery with that much of a following in that area, you would think that its BAKED ITEMS would be to die for.  not so much.  Perhaps I chose the wrong dessert, but at a bakery, I would  hope that anything baked would be great.  Peculiar....

Parking was easy... that time.  I only saw street parking and on a busy street like that, it can get frustrating.

Wow, that was awful.

My boyfriend and I were greeted by a hostess who was dead behind the eyes. Which is fine. I've worked in food service and, yes, you die a little on the inside. It's exhausting and rarely rewarding.

Anyhoo...

Our grimacing, dead behind the eyes waitress walked away from me while I was ordering my drink. Then we waited forever for menus. Then I giggled at the $2 they were charging for hot water. Then we waited for cutlery. Then we waited for our drinks. And then our we waited for our appetizers (Which, for the record, were so-so). Lot's of waiting.

By the time our entrees came, I was ready to get the hell out of there. But first I had to rescue my appetizer plate from the waiter - he actually tried to put my entree plate down on top of it. I snatched the plate out from underneath the entree before he could squish my bread. Oye.

The entree was strange - I may have picked poorly. The initial flavor was pretty good, but once it lingered on your palate for a second, it just disappeared into blandness. It's hard to describe.

We finished eating and were considering dessert - so we attempted to hunt down our waiter. Attempted and failed. Next we tried to signal a waiter, any waiter for the check. And tried. And tried some more. Eventually my boyfriend got up, walked over to the hostess and told her to bring it to us.

It wasn't even busy that day.

To summarize: the service is slooow (in more ways than one) and the food is just ok. Save your money and time for a better place.

How many waitstaff does it take to serve one person? Let's be clear on math though:

You got 100 people and 6 waitstaff it's going to be trouble.

50? You're going to wait for a check

25? You may not get a refill as fast on your water.

But if there are are FIVE tables with people at them and you have SIX waitstaff, then that should mean that it takes only a moment for that extra waitstaff to notice you and get cracking. Or for one of the other waitstaff with one table each to say "Hey, here's a chance to double my money and get ANOTHER table."

I waited 30 minutes. By myself. At a table. As waitstaff all around me walked past at best or sat down at empty tables to text people who weren't their customers.

THIRTY MINUTES.

It was only when the manager noticed me sitting there and thinking I was hanging around after my check had been paid and taking up a table that I got any notice at all. And when he realized that I hadn't been served he took my order and filled it incorrectly.

You've got a breakfast special that is literally labled 1-3. I asked for a 1. I got a 2. And no apology. No consideration. Nothing but the wrong order and half an hour wait to even be noticed to get it.

The only way I'll go to Aroma again is if it's to take along someone I very much don't like who is in desperate need of food and attention. At aroma he'll get nothing but the indifference of six persian waitresses all ignoring him simultaneously to check their Sidekicks.

So to recap: for revenge? excellent. For anything else? Go anywhere else.

I'm not fond of giving bad reviews, but this place is the worst. We went there when it first opened, and I opted not to review right away because, well, they had just opened and I figured it was still a little rough. The service was pretty bad and the food...well, let's just say me and my boyfriend both got sick.

I live close by and walk my dog past this place every morning. One Saturday I walked up to the host stand and asked if I could get a latte to go. She looked at me like I just asked her to give me a BJ and said, "you have to go inside for that". So I pointed to my dog and said, "can you just get me a server?".  My order was taken and as I waited for the latte I watched the hostess stand there and ignore every customer that walked up. Totally clueless.

Fast forward to this past weekend. Wanted to try to get another latte. Went up to the host stand and asked if I could get a latte to go. Same answer, need to go inside. Again, pointed to my dog and said, "can't bring my dog inside, can you get a server to help me?". She found a dude, said some stuff to him and then he came over and basically pointed me to a back entrance. I walked over to where there were two servers and a door to the counter and asked them if one of them could help me get a frackin latte. Both of them told me I had to go inside. What the holy hell is going on?? If there were any people there, I would understand their hesitation, but they were totally dead. I left empty handed.

Now, I know I should have learned my lesson the first time and not gone in with my dog. But, really. It's not that hard. I've done the same thing down at Cheebo with absolutely no problem at all.

Bottom line, sucky customer service.

Only went once, probably won't go back. I ordered lemonade, and got a minute maid lemonade in a bottle and a dirty cup of ice. There was actually a chunk of dirt frozen in one of the cubes too. My friend ordered coke and he got a can of coke and a cup of ice. No fountain drinks? At least they could've poured it for you.

But that's not really what bothered me the most. The wait staff was bad and never checked on us. It took forever to get a clean cup. The prices are too high for the food (and service) you get.

This place is way overrated. The prices are ridiculous for a cafe. I got a tuna sandwich and it was bland and smelled fishy and not in a good way. I also got a Mango smoothie, but it tasted watered down and tasteless. The only thing nice was their patio.

The thing that gets me about this place is that it is called a "cafe" but has restaurant style menu with restaurant style prices. Every plate offered averages around $17-23.
It seemed as though they have caught on to the major yelp complaint - the service, because it was very normal and nothing extremly rude or anything like described in 99% of other reviews.
The bread is very tasty, kinda like a raisin nut bread, and the salmon penne looked very good (the people I was with ordered it). The thick cut fries taste great with hummus. I got a salad whcih was meh, not the greatest. Just call it like it is, Aroma restaurant, becuase it is not a cafe, no small bites, almost like a meditteranean version of The Cheesecake Factory if you will.

Sweet potato fries and the pre meal bread are the only good things this place has to offer.
The service was horrible and the menu was extensive and very boring. I ordered a panini mozzarella that sucked. Just because the bread is toasted does not make it a panini.
My girl says that the greek salad is good, but I hate greek salads and I hated this place and everything about it.
Aroma cafe - blacklisted.

This place is a TOTAL FAIL!!!!!! Do not go here.... save your money and go to ANY other restaurant and/or drive through. Trust me, you will regret eating here and so will your wallet. This place if for out of towners who do not know any better.

The menu looks kinda like TGIF Friday meets Norms Restaurant.

extremely expensive for what it is, here are some of the things I spotted on the menu:
Fries = $10
Eclair = $8
Steak = starting at $40
House Salad = $14
Cup of Soup = $8

Please note: I am not cheap by any means, I spend $40-$80 on dinner (for 2) numerous times a week. This places food does not worth half of the asking price... the service is awful, the food is bad, and the atmosphere is even worse.

The food was  VERY BLAND.

The Young Chicken ( rice & chicken were very bland) the salad that came with it was very fresh forward, clean and very good.

The Caprese ( tomatoes,  buffalo mozzarella, olives and basil) was very bland.

The kids plate fried chicken finger- rolls with fries and a side of fresh fruit ( tasted like frozen fries-the fruit was yummy).

The rye bread at the beginning of the meal was really really good.

The mint/ lemonade was also really really good.

The  hostess and service was friendly.
The manager with open toe sandals ( I think that may be a health food violation).

I've eaten here twice and this is what I've learned:

1) The sandwiches and desserts are VERY good.
2) The fries are mediocre.
3) The pizzas are not that great.
4) There is a big difference between a cappuccino and an expresso.
5) Aroma Cafe is filled with the most beautiful Israeli waitresses I have ever seen in my life.

I'm definitely going back to try more of their sandwiches.

I went to Aroma Cafe last night.

An old friend - who I hadn't seen in almost 8 years - was in town last night, so we decided to meet up for some coffee. Since I got out of work late, we couldn't do a Coffee Bean, and went to Aroma because it's nearby my house.

We arrived and the hostess sat us immediately at a table in the outdoor patio right next to the heater (I originally thought that was good, but it got hotter and hotter as the time passed).

Since we hadn't seen each other in a very long time, my friend and I chatted away. After about 10 minutes, I noticed our server hadn't come to our table yet, not even to say, "hello, I'll be right with you".

Our table was next to the host stand, so as the hostess walked by, I asked her, "Excuse me, do you know who our server is? Nobody's come to our table yet." I was trying to be polite and give her a hint to go grab our server for us.

The hostess' reply was, "Oh, you can call her over. She'll be with you soon."

Haha! She who? How was I gonna call her over without knowing which female (I assumed female from the preposition used!) server was assigned to our table?

So as a male server walked by, I apologized and asked if he could help us, since we hadn't gotten a server yet. He took our order - all we were having was coffee - and left.

Our female server shows up to deliver our order. She doesn't say hello, doesn't apologize for not being there before, etc, etc. Simply drops off the coffee.

Now to the drinks. My friend's coffee was fine.

I ordered a mocha. As I first sip it, I think, "hmmm, I don't taste any chocolate here, only coffee". So I sip it again. Same thought. So I look at my coffee cup, and notice that all the chocolate powder is sitting in the bottom of the cup, absolutely unmixed with the rest of the coffee. So, basically, the barista (can they be called that?) added the chocolate powder to the bottom, poured the coffee/milk on top, put some foam on top and that was it.

Since our server had disappeared, I once again grab the male server who took our order and showed him the chocolate powder in the very bottom. His answer: "oh, you can just mix that in."

How about, "Oh, let me take that back and bring you a new one," this time properly prepared? I was shocked. I looked at him and said something like, "well, then it's going to mix in the foam." Still nothing.

So I mixed in my mocha, and just proceeded with the conversation with my friend. We had a wonderful time catching up.

But not once did our server come over and ask how we were doing. I'm not asking for a 5-star service here, just a little service. Something where you feel like, "ok, maybe they're busy, I should come back here another time to let them redeem themselves." But nothing.

When we were ready to go, again our server was nowhere in sight, so I apologized and asked that same male server to bring us our check. I even joked, "I guess you became our default server."

He brought our check, we put a credit card in the check presenter. Then our server showed up to take the payment - and I assume the tip.

I felt like saying the tip should go to our friendly (even though not so great either) male server, but I just did not feel like making a scene.

Wow. Extremely disappointed. This is a nearby cafe that I won't be returning to.

I understand that most servers - myself included - in this town are artists just trying to pay the bills on their quest to making it in the industry, but have at least a bit of pride in your work and actually give some good customer service, will you?

Sheesh...

It's kind of a bizarre place. The menu is a thick ring binder of pages and pages of stuff.

My friend and I ended up choosing the sandwiches, and both were very filling, accompanied by a huge vegetable salad. All of the ingredients were very fresh.

The meal began with warm rye bread being served.

The overall experience felt overpriced for what you get though. The lighting was too bright and the clientele was kinda bizarre.

The desserts looked scrumptious. Might be a good place for coffee and dessert.

Don't know that I'd go here again.

If you like insipid food and lousy service then this is the place for you.  I have never seen so many waiters and waitresses work in a restaurant before.  It seemed like the place has over a 100 employees.  Yet most of them (especially the girls) were just standing around, ignoring your glances, and chatting among themselves.  It took me an hour (no exaggeration) to get a lousy egg sandwich.  If you like good food and good service don't come here.

still in the office, my co-worker hands me a post-it:
"check out the website. tell me if we're good for lunch, which i'm guessing will be yes after you see the menu. http://aromabakery.com"

as i went through the menu, i was surprised they had such a variety of selections for a cafe! and i thought a bit on the pricey side. yet, i couldn't turn down the savory pictures ornamenting the online menu.

after driving past traffic and obnoxious motorcycles on sunset, we sat pleasantly outdoors (equipped with heaters if you want to come at night!). our waitress was lovely - though our hostess was a bit skanky : x   and most importantly, the food was worth every penny! the portion is actually a lot larger than what is pictured on the menu. i got the salmon wrap - highly recommend :D

(i secretly stole some ideas for some recipes after looking at their menu. and their salad dressing is to die for, will find out what's in it on my next reconnaissance mission!)

we also got dessert to-go, and the cafe inside looks amazing, very clean and modern. if you do sit outside, try to avoid rush hour when stupid men rev their motorcycles to get everybody's attention.

I usually go with my friends and we order food family-style to share between us. The hummous with mushrooms and the batata salad are out of this world. I can't go there without ordering both of those.

My roommate says, if you're going to throw a dinner party last minute and you don't have anything planned - this is the place to go pickup some stuff.

THE FOOD

Everything I have ever eaten here is fantastic. They have a great menu full of everything that's good for you - and some stuff that's bad. Also, desserts and bread here are delicious.

THE ATMOSPHERE

If you're looking for "ambiance", clearly, this is not the right choice. The place is VERY brightly lit. There are strange advertisements or Israeli TV playing on a projection screen outside that you can barely see because of the bright lights.

THE CROWD

It's a mix - obviously, lots of Israeli people come here because the food is Mediterranean and almost everyone who works there is Israeli. Young, old - doesn't matter - this place takes all kinds. Lots of beautiful young women sitting outside smoking... What can you say? It's very mixed.

Very first time I came to this place. I loved valet parking...it was a nice surprice for me to see valet in the CAFE! Then I saw a beautiful, tall hostess with dark curly hair at the front enter. She was really nice.  She sat me at the smoking section and walked away. In a few minutes she came back with an ash trade, it was really nice of her because i didnt even ask for it.
Then the waiter came. After i ordered and he brought me food, he  forgot about me for about 15 min.
The food was great! I love it.
I will probably come back...

PS: I fell in love with host. I think her name was Kati or something like that.

I ate dinner at Aroma yesterday and enjoyed the food so much I wanted to review it on Yelp. I'm actually really suprised that this place has gotten such a low rating. My experience of this place was quite pleasant and I want to give great ratings for the dish I ordered. I believe I ordered the grilled ahi tuna salad and the onion soup and both of them were really delicious. The price of the food was pricey but then the portion of the plate was huge too.

I loved that this place had crazy numbers of menu which I enjoy studying each one of them and deciding which one to order. I have to say I was quite disappointed when  I ordered lemonade (as always) and received in a Minute Maid bottle. Errr.. I think it is weird that they are handing out bottles but you know what? Maybe they were thinking ahead that I can take the bottle home if it's unfinished.

I see a lot of Yelpers giving low rating to this place due to the service and I can see somewhat see why they are frustrated. They weren't the most helpful, available staff but also I don't think it was the worst service either. Maybe I was lucky with the timing but the waitress was almost there at the times I needed her and she was very nice too.

My friend lives on the Hollywood Hills and both of us enjoyed this place so much we decided to come here as often as we can.

Oh also the guys at the counter was nice with their service. I received free extra baked goods with a wink as an extra extra!

The three stars say "A-OK" ... Why am I giving Aroma an "A-Ok" grade? It's because while the food isn't the greatest, and nor are the prices or the service, it's one of few places in LA that is open late on weekdays and weekends alike. That's why it's "ok," tolerable, etc. but not GREAT.

First off, do not go here if you're on a budget. It's pricey, which is to be expected I guess. But comon, chicken with asparagus for $25? That's why you see everyone rating the "salads" and appetizers, lol.

I usually just come here for dessert and/or coffee, if EVEN that. Frankly, I prefer to just soak up the atmosphere and not get anything big (I usually go with friends who are hungry)...

Speaking of the atmosphere. On some nights, this place must be one of the most pretentious places I've ever been to. A lot of older men like to go here in their nice cars, and once they're seated, they go googly-eyed over the occasional long-legged, fake blonde "beauty" who happens to pass by  ... who um, is also probably joined by an older gentleman.

I have never sat inside, only outside, and let me tell you, some tables are placed in tricky/cramped quarters. So good luck trying to get up and use the bathroom - it might be a hassle.

Waiters are usually civil, but don't expect any friendly "Hello, how are we doing this evening?" Israeli style means you order what you want and they bring it to you; smiles are optional, but usually nonexistent. On the whole, most of the waiters tend to do a sufficient job, but since it gets quite busy, they can and do disappear for a while.

Food here is really no big deal, folks. You will overpay for mediocre food and mediocre service.

The kind of order that would make sense here:

"Yeah, hi could I have a hot turd sandwich served on a bed of more turds."

This place could quite possibly be the city hall to Poo Town.

I gave this place a chance, i even gave it a second chance, but the bottom line is overpriced crummy food, and hands down the worst service I have ever had.

After lethargically and unapologetically taking back the wrong thing i didn't order, they gave me a fruit salad with rotten fruit, and brought me out another dish which was also not the right order. No apologies, no nothin'! .

If I want bad service from snotty eurotrash, I will go to Europe with an American flag on my backpack. The servers here are dumb, clueless , or both.

Also, I am not sure they even bake anything here.

Overpriced, and not worth the hard earned bucks in this economy. This place is cranking all the time, but it's also the only place in the neighborhood where you can go get coffee and dessert after 10pm.  Don't order the Souffle dessert.  It's barely hot, and not cooked through.  You'll be eating batter as if it's soup! We sent it back, but not without getting a little attitude from the Manager. We were told that's how they cook it.  Seriously!  Who cooks Souffle like that? When we got it back, the edges were over cooked and it wasn't to die for as all Chocolate Souffle's should be! For a bakery, they should know better!  The prices of their desserts and coffee is not reasonable compared to other places I've been.  Great outdoor patio ambience though.  As for the inside... It has a very commercial feel, it's cold, and the music is too loud, so everyone has to talk even louder which makes the noise control even worse! It's too bright, and quite chaotic.  Not very relaxing and the staff is not very welcoming.

A strange place in a good location.  The bloody marys are yum yum, however over-priced.  The clentel is snooty and the waitstaff is as slow as molasses.  Very pretty restaurant.  expect to pay $100 with tip on a Saturday brunch with a couple of drinks.  Food was good.

ZERO star if possible.
food looks as bad as it taste.
extremely overpriced.
but worst of all is the service.

we got our food and almost an hour later, not a single waitress stopped by to see how we were doing or gave us our check. they weren't even anywhere nearby to wave them down. simply disappeared. what kind of restaurant is this?

Went to the aroma cafe for the second time, last time I was shitfaced and staggered in after a few too many whiskey sours and ordered the sweet potato fries and a vegetarian sandwich, which I (roughly) remember as being phenom.

This weekend I stopped in with friends stone sober, and again we ordered the sweet potato fries to share (they'd been drinking,it's the go-to) which were served with bbq sauce and what tasted like cheap tarter sauce mixed with salsa (I felt like recommending a few other ideas for a better complimentary dipping sauce to waitress to pass along, but I held my tongue :P)

I ordered the ahi tuna tortilla which was seared ahi, cucumbers and carrots and onions served in a warm thin tortilla with bbq sauce and a side of fresh (amazing) guacamole. It was good, nothing mind blowing but it was delicious, and if I weren't such a fan of trying new things I'd order it again.
I especially liked the simple, but ample salad accompanying (which seemed to be the "house" salad since the two people I was eating with also got this salad with their food) which was sweet baby tomatoes thinly sliced with thinly chopped cucumbers and corn with a french-blended-with-italian tasting dressing. There was a lot of food, I was starving but couldn't even finish half, so I took the rest of the salad home and it was tasty the next day too :]

I'm not a big fan of chocolate but my friends split the chocolate souffle and they said it was Divine.

The menu IS huge, and everything looks so interesting and delicious, it's difficult to decide, but I definitely recommend this spot, they're open laaaate, so it does get packed late night style.

blandsville!

if you're a fan of boring, tasteless, overpriced food, check this place out. i've made the mistake of coming here twice, shame on me. it's just so convenient to walk to. and the menu selection is so massive, i thought the second time around i'd surely find something decent. nope. bland sandwiches, bland salads, bland artichoke appetizer, bland chocolate cake. and reeeeally bad service to top it off.

if you're a fan of super cool sink faucets though, go right past the dining area into the washrooms to ooh and ahh.

but then leave immediately and find someplace else to eat.

This place is OK if you like a good outdoor view. The food is OK but not great or good. The menu looks better then the food tastes. Food portions are a good size but the food is overpriced by far. I don't mind spending money for good food but 18 dollar for any kind of a salad is ridiculous.

Service was slow as hell and the servicing staff is not really in to what they are doing. I don't think they want to be there. I will probable end up going back just to take a date that I want to impress but I have to save up so let hope she worth it ;)

If the "People HATE us on Yelp" sticker is ever created, Aroma Bakery and Cafe deserves to be it's proud recipient
This place is HORRIBLE. Aroma is Unsatisfying and Overpriced. To make things worse the waitress that served us looked and acted like she hated her job or maybe she just hated people in general...

$8.95 will get you a side of french fries. These are not home made hand cut Yukon potato french fries. They come from a freezer and you can get them at smart and final. They are more expensive than fries at most of the fancy steak houses in LA.

The pizza we ordered was barely average in taste and the rest of what we ordered isn't even worth mentioning.
Bottom line; Don't go here, it has the look of an enchanting Hollywood cafe from Sunset Blvd, but the wicked witches and warlocks on the inside will feed you rotten apples and charge you $25 per person.

There are a few places where when someone asks if i want to go there, i roll my eyes and and make an annoying nasal sound. Aroma Cafe is one of these places.

the service here is ALWAYS bad. i don't care what time of day you go, no one here seems to want to work here. the desserts LOOK good but aren't as tasty as they are expensive.

so, there you have it. 1 star for aroma cafe. i was looking for the NO STAR option but didn't see it.

Don't be fooled by the pretty set up and Lights....

Went on Wed. night at midnight. Still open with a lot of people.
Walked up to the hostess(dressed like a hooch with ugly furry uggs). Didn't greet us. Just reached for two menus and started walking. Showed us to the table and just threw the menus Down and walked away.

Our waiter was o.k.  just went for desert with a friend. paid 10 dollars for a  Chocolate Eclair that was a real joke. So Small and thin and had a strong coffee taste to it.

All the workers are full of themselves and just there to socialize.
We got ugly dirty looks from the workers.

The crowd there that night was your typical greasy open shirt look at my hairy chest with all my gold. Not Good.

WHY IS THIS PLACE EVEN IN BUSINESS!!!!

Alright.

I'm sorry.

I came back to the scene of the crime, and I actually didn't see any bodies.

My pal Lexi and I went for lunch: which included a egg salad sandwich (panini-style) and a side salad. Honestly, the sandwich was delish, and the salad had some italian-type dressing with sliced grape tomatoes and I believe it was field greens. Pretty tasty.

One oddity: the egg salad was more like a sloppy joe.

The desert was meh.

A turkish coffee and a slice of shared cheesecake with some wierd choco balls on top.

Coffee: top notch.

Cheesechocoballmadness: uhhhhh.....

Got out of a work conference early, so I needed a place to hang out until gym time last night.

I drove down Sunset towards Crunch and noticed this places expansive inviting patio. I've seen Aromas on Ventura Blvd (not to be confused with Aroma in Tujunga Village), and noticed they were always super busy so I've been curious to check it out.

Anyway so the first thing I do is make a beeline to the ladies room. They have these cool basin type faux marble sinks and the faucet creates this mini fountain when you turn it on. Thought that was pretty snazzy.

I make my way out to the patio, ask if I can just order a coffee, and the waitress outside was nice and said I could just sit anywhere. Although all you get is a view of the street, it was nice to sit outside since they have a nice patio with heat lamps. It was around 4:30ish so it wasn't annoyingly packed.

She handed me a menu with coffee and desserts (delectably tempting, but I showed restraint).

I ordered a large vanilla latte that came in a translucent glass mug. The foam on top was super fluffy and I saw the stain where the espresso was poured right in the middle.

They let me chill out for close to two hours, long after I finished my espresso. It was good, just not wow. I'd hate to say it but for the most part I still like the taste of Starbucks over many indie coffee houses. Just the way it is I guess.

Especially cause this cup cost me like $5.95 + a $2.00 tip, and it definitely was not worth that.

I can't speak on the baked goods or food, but it's not like I'm all excited about coming back.

i wish i had yelped this place before i ate here.

it looks really nice... and has this amazing pastry display. their bathroom is superchic and theres an outdoor patio.

but the service from the woman was lousy. they ignored me until a male waiter came up to me and asked why i hadnt gotten a menu yet. its overpriced food, for sure, and really bland. i was disappointed with whatever i got (some breakfast burrito the waiter recommended) but the fruit salad was legit (pineapple, 2 blackberries, strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe, honeydew, etc) and pretty big.

also... only valet and scarce metered parking?! youre a cafe for crissakes.

the 2 stars im giving them is generous... but only for the cute waiter.
