Had the halibut and chips. The food was excellent. And the service was just great. My waitress was very helpful with suggestions for local museum tours. She was just plain friendly. And I appreciate that as a regular traveler. Nothing bad to say he. Standard fare. But well presented, and great customer service.
Will return when I am back in town. -

We were so impressed with our server at Arnie's. She welcomed us with the hospitality of someone taking pride in her area and establishment. She knew the menu well and was honest when we asked her opinions. She gave us the privacy to enjoy intimate conversation but was quick to quench our thirst. As a result, we had a wonderful meal!
My husband orders fish and chip's frequently and is not one to commonly use superlatives. However, he said these were some of the best he has had! He did say the portion was not huge so if one is famished from being out in the sea air all day-perhaps order an appetizer as well.
I had the pesto pasta and it was refreshing and sweet with fresh herbs. The basket of bread with fresh butter was a winner as well. The decor is generic but it is made up in stunning views (depending on your seat). We look forward to returning. -

Words really cannot describe the total mess that was supposed to be my dinner tonight. There wasn't much good about it, so I'll just hit the highlights:
-Crappy,slooooow service. Everyone in the room who came in after us were 3/4 done before we ever got any food. Waitress kept rushing by us and not looking directly at us so we couldn't even ask why the whole dining room had eaten except us.
-Took over 2hours to get out of there, and I never even got a full dinner.
-Dinner finally arrived after over an HOUR, stone cold. Sent it back and harried, brusque server said she would have them remake it. Waited about another 20 mins, at which point the same dish returned---with the same food on it. They had taken the shrimp & scallops off the plate, put more oil on them and then grilled some more until blackened, hard and rubberized! Unbelievable. And inedible.
Ended up eating half of the baked potato and sent the rest away. So my dinner consisted of the half potato, way too much bread and butter eaten while I was left without a dinner, and a few clams I scavenged off the plate before they took it away again. I feel like I ate a dough ball for dinner, which I pretty much did.
By that time, my husband was finished eating and we had been there so long we just wanted OUT! I gave one star because they at least had the decency to take my dinner off the bill.
We will never, EVER be returning there. Also, the atmosphere was like a screaming loud cafeteria, which only added to the ambience, to go along with the slow, surly service and the craptastic food. That's 2-1/2 hours I'll never see again, and a dinner that ranked in my lifetime bottom five... -

I've gone here a few times for lunch. The food and service are superb. Also has an Entertainment book coupon. View is great too of the sound and ferry terminal. I have yet to see a whale.

3.5 Stars.
Food is solid here. All seafood dishes were tasty but it wasn't one of kind. If you are looking for good quality comfort food, Arnies might be a good choice.
I was more impressed by appetizers than main entree. All entree seem a little over priced but there are not many restaurants in this area..
- Complimentary bread was good. crusty outside and soft inside.
- Service can be a bit slow so don't just wait if your sever doesn't show up.
- Save some room for dessert: I tried a couple of desserts with my coworkers and they were pretty good. Especially it's only around $5. Good deal!
- Water-view seating available so ask for it.
PS: Key lime pie was excellent, according to a coworker from Florida.Listed in: Basket of bread, Out of town

I love going to Arnies! It's one of those unique restaurants that's able to blend atmosphere, food, and value into a near perfect combination. Located near (but not on) the waterfront, one still has a view of Puget Sound through one of their abundant windows in the dining room. The portions are well sized, where one can finish the meal and feel satisfied, but not too large as to over indulge. The wait staff is friendly and the decor is pleasant. Value wise, the average entree is around $20 with many around $15. For a seafood restaurant, I think that's more than reasonable.
Tip: For those that enjoy a little spicy, I highly recommend the Sambal Shrimp from the appetizers menu. -

Arnies was a new venture for me in Washington. During a google search for "Seafood Mukilteo", I found Arnies at the top of the list. I now see why. Arnies was an excellent surprise for great ambiance and amazingly fresh food.
From the outside, Arnies looks like a real dive. It's somewhat misleading to the naked eye. But as the old saying goes, "Don't judge a book by it's cover". I also found that the parking for Arnies was a bit difficult to find, and not very spacious. A parking lot that fits maybe around 15-20 cars. I was actually very lucky to find a spot.
However, inside, Arnies is absolutely beautiful. The hostess and wait staff couldn't have been more nice and responsive. The menu is something I'm not quite used to: because it's unique and has items that I've never tried. Fresh seafood and fresh deserts make this one of my favorite seafood restaurants in WA. I strongly recommend the Apple Trout dish, as well as the fresh Fruit Cobbler for desert. The Crab Cakes for an appetizer are also amazing.
PROS:
- Ambiance is quite nice, and makes for an excellent scenery for a date (Getting a window seat is really nice, or even a rounded booth)
- Wait staff and Hostess staff is awesome. Very nice folk with a very inviting aura about them. Despite how busy it gets, they maintain this throughout service and always check up on you.
- The Menu is fantastic. I loved the choices I had, and the ones that I actually selected did not disappoint at all.
CONS:
- A little difficult to find if you're new to the area.
- Parking lot is a bit difficult to find and, once found, limited.
- Misleading outdoors. You definitely don't expect the beautiful interior when you see the almost "red lobster"-like exterior. -

Highly recommend the early bird dinner menu. At $20 per person and getting good seating, you cannot beat Arnies when it comes to a room with a view. The early bird dinner includes a starter, entree, and dessert. Ask for seating in the upper level!
I came here with my wife for our anniversary and we had to keep reminding ourselves that we hadn't traveled out to an island getaway for seafood and sights.
Afterwards, we walked from Arnies to the nearby Mukilteo lighthouse park -- what a way to digest and digress!

Been here a number of times over the years. I much prefer the Edmonds location. Nothing is great or remarkable either way. Whatever I order from drinks to entree to desert I always have the same thought..."Huh, this could be better. I don't hate it it could just be better".
Go down the hill to Ivar's. Much less "meh". -

I recently enjoyed a brunch meal on a Sunday afternoon at Arnie's. Brunches are 3 course meals here. A fruit plate with a vanilla yogurt type dip followed by a sticky bun followed by an entree of your choice.
The fruit plate had a good variety of fresh fruit from melons to grapes and strawberries and pineapple. The yogurt dip was a nice touch.
The sticky bun was big and yummy and of course sticky.
The crab cake eggs benedict was delicious. And let me not forget the choice of orange juice or champagne.
Great friendly service and considering the amount of food and the quality of it not bad at a cost of about $12 to $18 a person. The price varies depending on the choice of entree of course. -

I posted this under google reviews and am reposting here:
The view is the best part about this place, other than that, nothing much stands out. With the exception of the substandard management. We took our out-of-town guests to Arnie's for my husband's birthday dinner. Someone forgot to get our appetizers going, so we sat and sat and waited and waited. Finally, my husband went to find someone to see what was going on. In the meanwhile, the manager (who we discovered had been watching the whole time) came over to explain that our order ticket had been jammed in the machine or something like that. Would we like our appetizers and dinners at the same time? My husband opted to not do that and have the appetizers arrive first. It was obvious at this point, that they knew they had screwed up, but noone had approached us to explain the situation. They were hoping we wouldn't notice. The food was ok, my daughter's entree was cold, so I'm sure they just kept our already cooked meals under a heat lamp. Disappointing. The manager did apologize and did knock something off the bill. Things happen, it was the handling of the situation that left a lot to be desired. So, last night, my husband's workplace (local business) held a retirement party there, with 40 attendees. The organizer had gone to Arnie's IN PERSON, to book the party and discuss with their staff. During dinner, complete with speeches and clapping, they were told they had to be quiet. Are you serious? It is a retirement party with 40 people and you expect them to sit silently, eat their meal, hand over $1,000+ and go home? If Arnie's is not able to accommodate a party, then don't. But do not be willing to treat them rudely and then take their money. Unbelievable. At some point the manager apologized and offered something free. Too little, too late. He didn't tell the guy behind us loudly speaking on his cell phone, to shut up when we were there for my husband's birthday. Why offend a party of 40, holding a civilized get together. Unbelievable. We will never go there again - their business practices need a lot of work. Ivar's has a great view too and my experience there has always been a positive one. -

First, but not last time coming here. :)
Decided it was a beautiful day for a road trip to the water. Walked around the lighthouse then headed to Arnies for lunch. Checked out their menu online & found we had an Entertainment Book coupon for $12.00 off lunch/brunch. Unfortunately the menu I looked at was their weekday lunch menu & not the Sunday brunch menu so there were completely different items on the menus. Also the prices were different. The $12 coupon covers very few if any of the brunch offerings. I think a $16 coupon value would be a better deal.
Was very pleased with the bright clean decor & gorgeous view. Was seated very quickly at a nice upstairs window seat. Waters & fruit plate were on the table very quickly. Pleasant server Deborah came to offer the complimentary orange juice or champagne that was included with their brunch. (hence the higher brunch prices) Placed orders and out came complimentary sticky walnut cinnamon roll. Oh Mamma Mia was that sucker delicious! Gooey goodness!
Then our entrees arrived. For me the chopped salad with crab, shrimp, tomatoes, cucumbers, artichoke hearts, blue cheese crumbles & pine nuts on top of nice mixed greens with a light basil vinaigrette. Brought half of it home it was so big! Hubby got the seared ahi tacos & was mildly disappointed that they did not come with cole slaw or french fries. For $15.45 they really should have a side item. The pineapple salsa that came with them was fantastic! Nice kick of heat.
Look forward to coming back for a dinner. Their wine prices by the glass look fair & they have half off wine by the bottle nights.
Note: watch out for ferry traffic. -

Went there for my birthday dinner with family on 8/20. We had planned to go to the Keg but my parents are from whidbey and thought it'd be easier for them. First off we thought the server was a busser, he filled our waters with out saying one word, when he came back five minutes later he never introduced himself or asked how we were doing. We felt rushed when he asked us what we wanted. The food started with some shrimp as a app, which were ok for basic shrimp cocktail. The entrees however were not so ok. Mine was the prime rib (I believe) with mashed potatoes and green beans. The beans were way over cooked & soggy. Mashed potatoes were FAKE! Straight out of a box. Nothing at all real or fresh on that part. And steak had no flavor, cooked well but was so tough and chewy I had my husband cut it for me cause I couldnt. My dad and sister said the Same about their steaks too. After we all had ate and left, we all experienced upset stomachs and cramping.... Assuming it was the food since we all had that in common. I rate this 2 stars cause of our bad experience, not great service and untasteful food. I give the stars tho for the timely service, hot food and beautiful view.
Note to the managers: please update your servers on their guest first service, etiquette, cleanliness, talking on the floor about their weekends, and introductions to tables!!! Needs major work!! -

The view from Arnies is really nice and is probably the thing that stands out the most about this place. The food I would say is average, the fish that I ordered was slightly overcooked for my taste but was well seasoned and flavorful. They were very attentive to our table as well, water was always refilled (I drink a lot of water) and our waitress often checked up on us.
Overall I wouldn't make a special trek just to eat at this place but if you're looking for something decent in the area this place is worth a shot. The view is really pretty on a sunny day. -

I am very surprised the ratings are so high for this place. The only thing that's going for it is its location. If you like dated decor, this is the place for you. It reminded me so much of my grandma that it was almost freaky. Brass railings, old weird pictures, ugly colors, flea market starfish and shells, non-opening windows in the main dining room...But oh the view! Gordon Ramsay would have a field day with this place if he featured it on Kitchen Nightmares. It has SO MUCH potential! Did I mention the interior was dated? We're in our 30's and most of the clientele were older folks (no offense). I have no problem with older folks, my point is simply that this isn't exactly the type of place you'll see young, hip, 20-somethings pre-funking before a night on the town. We got there about 8pm on a beautiful summer night though. Maybe everyone was pre-funking somewhere else?
I got the Wild Sockeye Salmon special. It featured grilled salmon, grilled apple slices (?), mashed potatoes, and asparagus - most of it garnished with a sweet sauce. I would consider this dish average. It was nothing special. And at $24.99 it left a bad taste in my mouth. The grilled apple slices were, well, grilled apple slices. A cheap way to take up space on grandma's weird dinner plate in my opinion. The best part was the salmon but for $24.99 I could have bought an entire fish, some rice, a seasonal 6-pack of good beer, and dessert at Central Market and just stayed home and grilled it myself. But this was date night for my wife and I so we made the best of it.
And Arnie's management...hello? Are you listening? No salad with a main entree? Are you kidding me? And bread upon request only? There are other ways to cut costs besides not giving patrons $0.50 worth of salad and dressing with their $25 dish. Sheesh!
Our bill, for two, including two beers and tip would have been $75. OUCH! Thankfully we had our Entertainment Card and got buy one, get one free so that knocked it down a bit...but not enough to recommend Arnie's to anyone - at least anyone in their 30's or less. An expensive lesson learned. But we had a great date night and that's all that matters, right? -
Review from Corey G.
Arnie's affords a nice view of Mukilteo. I didn't get to really see it though, we were in the bar, but there is a patio (it was too cold when we were there), and I imagine the dining area on top as the best of nautical views.
The dark wood interior of the lounge/bar area is reminiscent of the hull of a ship, which is fitting since seafood is the fare of the day here.
Now we made it here for happy hour. We didn't have entrees on our minds, we had appetizers (and drinks).
FOR LIQUIDS:
I went with a couple of drafts a Scuttlebutt and a seasonal stout microbrew.
FOR SOLIDS:
We shared a gang of options:
--smoked ribs (seasoned well, and soft and slippy off the bone)
--lettuce wraps (these were healthy-tasting and...well...tasty)
--mahi tacos (these were certainly serviceable)
--fish & chips (decently made and definitely "eat-able")
--clam chowder (I just had a couple slurps of this, and it was also good)
All in all, the meal was decent. Nothing really standing out. The environment was nice, and I certainly liked the vibe in the lounge---a definite option if you're in the area. -
Review from Jens J.
Great view of the Sound and lots of eager wait staff around to attend to your needs. What's nice too is that you don't find the prices ridiculously jacked up just because of the sweet view.
The food...well, it's gonna depend on what you order. The chowders are great (both the clam chowder and the seafood bisque). The seared sea scallops are recommended too.
Now, about the the halibut and chips - if you are into beer-battered sh*t, you might like this dish. My point is, the printed restaurant menu doesn't tell you the halibut is beer-battered (though interestingly, their online menu does). The coleslaw has so much ginger that it is pretty much rendered inedible. -

Arnie's is a real jewel. Located on the water at the Mukilteo Ferry Landing it offers spectacular sea views. Arnies has a great happy hour. The menu offers a wide range of hot appys that are to die for. And the drinks are generous and cheap! The staff is fun and welcoming. Arnies is a great atmosphere with incredible food. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

I go to Arnies about once a month for business. All of the fish dishes are pretty good. I have not found a stand out but the ling cod, the salmon dishes, and the halibut are all pretty good.
If you want fish, this is a pretty safe choice. You're not going to have your mind blown but they are consistent. -

Update 4/17/08 -
Been here three times now, again the service is always good. The view is beautiful. I didn't get the delicious Clam Chowder this time around =(. But instead I paid a bit more and got the Halibut (instead of Cod) fish and chips...Yum! Yum!.
Nice environment, service is good, great view. I've been here for lunch twice, and both times I ordered the fish n'chips. Delicious-ness. The place is a bit pricey for lunch, but being that they have a coupon in the entertainment book helps out (lunch and sunday brunch only). If you're around the area and want a more elegant lunch definitely worth a stop.

We are fans!
Went there again last night. Food was on point and service was friendly and quick. We had the usual cashew encrusted ling cod with was fresh and moist and tried the prawns undecided which filled me up (probably because they gave me a large baked potato to go with the tiny prawns). The prices are a little high but with the discount, it's worth the ambiance and location. We use the entertainment book discount each time to make it reasonable and worth coming back. We'll be back next year with the new coupon. -

Good food. When they have halibut cheeks in season, no one makes them better. The service is always great and they get to know you after only a few visits.
I usually do lunch. The view is great and the deck wonderful on a warm sunny day. -
Review from Krista J.
If you want/need a decent restaurant in the Mukilteo area at least you have Arnies because there are not that many choices. I have eaten both dinner and brunch there and have enjoyed my meals very much.
The brunch might seem a bit on the higher price side for brunch, but it comes with a fruit plate, pecan roll, and orange juice. Also the brunch Bloody Mary is special priced at $3.75 and the olive, asparagus, and Jumbo Prawn as garnishment are great.
I do wish they would remodel/update the main dining area. They could still keep it with it's Northwest feel but I think it is nice to freshen the look to help create better ambiance.
Although on the flip side I like the bar and think they should just keep that in it's 70s Officer and a Gentleman feel. I think the bar is cute and cozy that way.
Not someplace you need to go out of your way to go to, but if hungry in Mukilteo I would recommend Arnies as a solid place with good food and a great view. -

Review from Cathy S.
My friends are I hit up Arnie's for dinner on a Saturday night. The dining room had a 15 minute wait so we decided to find a table at the bar. It seemed a lot more casual in the bar area and all the tables had a window view, which was definitely a plus.
They have a great selection of beers on tap (I love the Scuttlebutt Blonde, which isn't on tap at a lot of places)and if you like clam chowder, you should definitely order it! While I didn't end up getting a seafood dish for dinner, the pasta dish I had was pretty good.
If we're in the area again in the near future we'll probably try to stop by during happy hour as it looks like they had a lot of good deals during that time. -

My husband and I went to Arnie's last night for the first time. It's nicely and conveniently located and has a great view of the water. We chose not to wait for a table in the main part of the restaurant and went downstairs to the lounge. Very cozy bar, nice wait staff, and a good happy hour (so we hear).
We both ordered the specials they were offering that night and we were both very pleased with our meals. You get a lot of food for the price you pay which is not always the case.
The waitress was nice, but not very quick with our drinks and after the meal was over, instead of filling us with booze and draining our wallets in the meantime, she brought us our check without asking if we wanted anything else. No biggie.
All in all...good experience and we will be back for sure. -
Review from Amy B.
I really appreciate Arnie's view and their awesome Sunday brunch specials--including a champagne breakfast. You really should check it out!
Tip: You can find a lot of great deals for this restaurant either on local radio stations 'half price hook-ups', in the Entertainment Book, or by signing up for their email mailing list (in which case they give you a free appetizer). -

The food is really average. It's like they try...but always miss the mark.
But it's pretty reasonable so you get what you pay for. They do happy hours, early dinner specials.. they probably have coupons for all I know!! I think thats why people go..it's cheap with a view.
The view is beautiful.
The bartender Nancy is the best part .She is friendly and everyone likes her and she seems to like them back. -

We always come to Arnies for group lunch or happy hour after work. Services have been really good. I really enjoyed the food, the drinks and the view.
However, the dish I ordered for lunch today I gave it 3 stars because 1) the artichoke was not fresh 2) I felt that my halibut cheeks was a bit over cooked.
There will be plenty of time that I will come back to try! -
Review from Stan F.
I liked my salmon dinner, but didn't think that is was very special, so I would give it 4 stars. My wife had the halibut and thought it was too bland (2 stars).
Now for the good part....The Almond Joy Sundae was so good, it will make you cry. Every part of this from the coconut to the fresh whip cream to the fudge-ey sauce....Better take some blood thinner before eating this.
The water view was nice although we were eating right at sunset and the sun was in our eyes and the heat/sun felt like I was getting a sunburn while dining.
3 stars for the meal.....
5 stars + for the dessert.... -

Arnies is intended to be a rival to Ivar's but to me, they fall a little short. Everything about my meal was just okay. Service wasn't fast or slow, portions were a little small, drinks were of average strength, and food quality and taste; middle of the road. We had a nice view from the dining room and it was relatively quiet for how busy the room was.
Overall, an okay experience, but until I hear of big changes here, I'll stick with Ivar's when I'm in the area. -

This restaurant was great! We sat upstairs and the view was so picturesque! The service was also fantastic and they were very patient. I was with my fiance's grandparents and they were having a hard time hearing and ordering, but the staff was very patient and accommodated us greatly.
The food was a bit pricey for it being not too special. The fiancé and I had the fish and chips, and it wasn't bad at all but it wasn't anything special or different or made it something to write home about. There was four of us and the bill came out to be around a hundred dollars, and this was lunch by the way. The grandfather got salmon which he said was amazing, and the grandmother got the oysters which looked sooo good. It made me wish I got that, if I had liked oysters. It looked like it was breaded, seared golden, and smelled amazing. I may have ordered something that wasn't one of the specialties of Arnie's but was still pleased.
We had the caramel apple crisp for dessert and that was amazing with the smooth vanilla bean ice cream! I would definitely come back, this had a nice atmosphere and wasn't too uptight at all . -

I was downstairs so the view wasn't that good, but I imagine the view from the upstairs dining room is much better.
Despite being recommended the shrimp appetizer was nothing special and is completely avoidable. The fish taco's are very good but the real star of the meal was dessert. The berry cobbler is simply amazing. I think I could eat the cobbler every day - it's that good. -

The meal was decent (6/10); the server (Monica) very pleasant, attentive, personable, & helpful; and the bus boy/guy who brought our water memorable only for his lack of anything genuine. The bus boy-- a taller Fred Savedge look-alike-- said "enjoy your meal" with such a flat affect that we believe he either is bored to death by his job, or is prepping for a role in a movie as Boring Bus Boy #1 (nailed it!). Funny thing is, we could see Ivar's out the window the entire meal. It's more expensive, but the food was better (we ate there last night), and all the staff was of Monica's level.

I'll remind you all again that I'm not a seafood eater so the food part of this review is beef based.
This restaurant is charming with its creaky floors and nautically inspired decor. I didn't much care for the reception we got upon entering. A snotty little blond hostess greeted us with a sneer and as she lead us to our table she chit chatted across the dining room with some of the other employees. When we thanked her for seating us she rolled her eyes, uttered "uh-hu" and walked away. I immediately went to the restroom to wash my hands and encountered this girl again, as you must pass thru the lobby to get to the restrooms. She was gossiping at the podium with another employee, but that didn't stop her from giving me the once over and a dirty look. Wow.
When I returned to our table, which had a spectacular view, I was informed by my friend that our waiter had come over to tell him that he was new on the job and may not be able to answer all of the questions we may have about the food, but that he would do his best to track down any answer he didn't have. He was able to answer my two questions - "can I substitute a salad for the vegetable that comes with the meal?" and " can you make me a hot fudge sundae even though it's not on the menu?". The answers were, "yes" and "yes" so I was happy. Good job, new waiter!
I got the filet mignon (shocker). Although it was tender it was also shockingly cold and tasted a bit like pickles. I was bummed. The baked potato was small but yummy. They apply the toppings for the potato at your table which is cool...the bacon was outstanding...not the least bit rubbery. My friend got clam chowder and salmon and said that it was good.
I thought the prices were a bit steep. The bill was around $90 for two entrees a cup of soup and one dessert. We didn't order anything other than water to drink so I was kind of shocked.
I'm not sure I'd eat here again unless I was already in the area and someone else was paying. -

This is supposed to be a rival to Ivar's, but falls really short. Portions are laughable, good thing I wasn't hungry. Wife and I went with a 2-for-1 coupon and am glad we got out for under $30 with it. Without it the bill was easily $25 a person (no drinks) for a small amount of marginally tastefull food.
Service was good, but lagged as they were busy. Save your money on this one.
