Hello
I have never used a moving service before but I can say that my experience with Army Ant Moving was an exceptional one. Steve, the owner showed up with his crew and moved my furniture quickly and efficiently. Steve also shook my hand when we first met which added a positive feeling of trust that you do not usually get in today's business world. Definitely will use them again! -

Steve (the owner) and Brian moved my girlfriend this weekend and did an awesome job! Very clean, polite, and professional.

I haven't written a review in a looooooooooooong time, but I have a reason! (there's always a reason, right?) We bought our first home in the fall and have been packing/unpacking our lives away for the last few months. We actually used 2 different moving companies for our overall move.
We used Army Ant a few years ago as part of a move-in special for the last apartment we leased. This time for move #1, we used a different company and couldn't help but compare them to Army Ant. For move #2 (that involved more antiques and fragile furniture) we knew we wanted to hire Army Ant again.
When we used Army Ant for our apartment, 2 guys came out and got the job done in under 1 hour. They padded the door frame, wrapped our furniture and were incredibly professional. This time 2 different guys came out (still just 2 total) and although we've accumulated more items over the years, they still managed to get the job done quickly while paying special attention not to damage anything (again, lots of wrapping of furniture, padding the door frame when necessary, etc).
The reason I keep stressing that each time only "2 guys" arrived is because 2 Army Ant movers work more quickly and professionally than the 3 or 4 guys other moving companies send out that we've worked with over the years - (and as college students/grad students, we've had quite a bit of moves from apartment to apartment).
I HIGHLY recommend Army Ant. As I've already stated, they are fast/efficient, professional, courteous and do all the things you'd expect a moving company to do (pad and wrap your furniture, pad the door frames when necessary, secure boxes and furniture correctly inside the truck (we've had an issue with this and other companies before), etc). If/when we move again (which I hope isn't for awhile), we'll contact Army Ant first. -

I hate moving! It's one of thing I always dread. So we decided to hire movers. Thank God for Army Ant Moving. Matt and Carlos are total professionals! They showed up a little early, called us when they were on their way, and finished in less time than expected. Their ability to pack the truck like a game of Tetris allowed them to turn, what we assumed would be 2 trips, into one. They were friendly, had great attitudes, and worked quickly. Army Ant Moving made our moving experience much easier than expected. We'd definitely use them again.

We used Army Ant Moving this past weekend and are very greatful that we chose them. It was a 2-man crew and they were very professional, courteous, and fast. Most importantly, they did a great job protecting all of our stuff from pickup to delivery. We've had to move a few times in the last few years and this was by far the best experience at a great price. We will definitely use them again on our next move.

After using a not so great moving company in the past, i wanted to check the yelp reviews first this time. Let me say this company is great. The reviews are correct. The guys came out today to pack and move us and all went well. The guys worked hard & fast. We live on the 3rd floor but they didnt miss a beat. From now on i will ALWAYS use army ant movers.

Steven and his team were a valuable asset in our recent office relocation. Steven communicated with us frequently prior to the move and took care of the "little details", allowing us to stay focused on our business.
They worked directly with building management to make sure everything was in order according to their requirements for moving agents. He and his sidekick "Clinton" were on-time, quick, careful, and courteous.
When a company is handling your personal or business belongings, integrity is critical. That's exactly what we got with Army Ant. I'm happy to recommend them to anyone in the greater Austin area. -

Clifton and Joe were our movers over the weekend. They did an amazing job, they were fast, but still super careful with our stuff. Nothing was scratched, or broken. Very polite and just an all around wonderful experience. Great price as well, so glad I chose Army Ant and will continue to recommend them to my friends!

These guys were awesome! They were everything you don't expect movers to be: polite, clean-cut, courteous, and on-time. I've moved a lot with different executive moving systems (corporate-paid) and these guys were hands-down better than all of them.
I'll definitely call Army Ant Moving up again any time I need stuff moved; and I'll be recommending them to my friends. -

So... after a bad experience with this company, and subsequent review, the owner Steven contacted me. He apologized for what had gone wrong and for the way the situation had been handled. He ended up paying to have a professional come out and clean up my couch, and it came out looking as good as I could hope for. I was not inexpensive to do this, but he took care of it and I am coming out of the situation satisfied. I feel I can recommend Army Ant without apprehension - anybody can make a mistake but owning up to it and getting it resolved is the mark of a trustworthy business.

When I called Army Ant I had to leave a message but Stacy called me back within minutes and was super helpful. For my needs (hourly), Army Ant turned out to be the cheapest of the bunch I tried (including Blue Whale and Mustang Movers).
Daniel and Anthony showed up on time with a huge trailer that made fitting everything a breeze -- no excessive stacking and risk of damage.
They were completely professional, good guys who didn't ding a single wall or piece of furniture.
Without question I'll be using and recommending them exclusively from here on out! -

After talking to a number of moving companies around town, most of the higher rated ones on here, we decided to go with Army Ant Moving back in June after getting a competitive rate and EXCELLENT customer service from their office. We called the day before the move and they were able to accomodate us. They were very flexible. In our case, we could only afford 2 hours of work so we went by that. The guys showed up on time at the storage unit and moved 90% of an entire 5 bedroom house in that time. When they say a "solid 2 hours" they mean it. These guys were fast, friendly and efficient. Great friendly dudes and VERY careful with everything. I've moved dozens of times and have had some pretty crappy movers in the past that were all about getting the job done quickly but not carefully. Couldn't have asked for more from these guys. Seriously blown away by how fast they moved and how courteous the team back at their home office was. Oh and they offer a Yelp! user discount so that was a nice plus. Forget about the big dogs in town. These guys are great.

BEST MOVE EVER!!!!
Being in the real estate business, I have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of moving. I have moved myself here in Austin 5 times in 4 years as well. ( I staged the last house I moved from and it sold quickly - I'm not a vagabond) Army Ant Moving blew me away with the best move I have ever had. Not only were they on time the day of moving, they came out and actually gave me a firm bid and stuck to it! Jason even helped me move a heavy item down stairs when he gave me the bid that I had wanted to sell in a garage sale...awesome touch! The crew (Steve and Joe) showed up on time, were polite and got the move done in record time. We had to stop at a storage unit on the way which was part of the move. They stacked things very professionally so I can tell what's what with just a glance. They were VERY careful with all my furniture and all the walls etc in both locations.... First time even that I have had no damage. ( Apple moved me a few months ago - lots of damage and they wouldn't come out to fix it).....and if you are in the military - they give you a discount...nice -

ANOTHER FLAWLESS MOVE!! Thank you Rustin and Joe, you rock! Today was my second move with Army Ant Moving. The movers were on time, respectful, careful, considerate and worked like speed demons!! Nothing broken, nothing scratched. Items were stacked neatly so that I could get to them easily. The #1 thing, they made sure my dust ruffle was on my bed!! :-) I hope to stay in one place or a while, but if I move, I will definitely call Army Ant Moving!

DO NOT SCHEDULE YOUR MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY DO NOT SHOW UP!!!
I had a move scheduled with them. I even called to confirm my appointment the day before, and verified that everything was set up. The lady who answered the phone said I was scheduled for the next day, and that someone would call before they arrived. The next day Army Ant movers DID NOT SHOW UP. They did not call, and did not even answer the phone when I tried to call them to find out where they were. I ended up having to find another mover at the last minute.
The next day I called Army Ant to complain to the manager... he said he was going to put me "on hold" to find out what happened, but he just hung up on me. I tried to call back, and again got no answer.
I cannot stress enough - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Being stuck on the day of your move with no movers is a nightmare. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! There are better companies out there who actually show up!! -

I used Army Ant a couple of weeks ago for a big move, items from two houses to a destination two hours outside of Austin. The move was ripe for screw-ups, but went as smooth as silk due to Army Ant! Of course, prior to hiring I asked about the bad reviews from a couple of years or so ago, and the new owner was very straightforward about the transfer of business and the prior owner's problems. Army Ant had a GREAT price, on time, great confirmation calls, dealt with multiple inventory updates, and a long, crazy trip. Just perfect, as good a move as I've ever had - and I'm from Austin, you know how we move a lot - will DEFINITELY use them again.

I scheduled army ant movers to unload a packed Uhaul at 10am. The owner called me at 8am THE DAY OF THE MOVE to tell me he would not be able to be there until 4pm! I was blown away. I referenced our agreement from 2 weeks prior which he emailed me. He told me there was nothing he could do. That was the end of our encounter.
In short, that was my experience with Army Ant Movers. I scheduled them, they could not show up on time, so I moved myself in with my parents help. I was complaining to my apartment complex in passing, and they said a tenant just 2 day before had a similar experience. They were scheduled for around noon but did not show until 4pm.
This week, I am beginning a litigation process against these guys. I cannot speak for their work, but they are unreliable for scheduling. -

These guys were quick, and skilled. They packed my Uhaul to the ceiling, and NOTHING moved all the way to Louisiana. They also didn't break anything, which is a first for me and moving. They arrived about 20 minutes late, which isn't too terrible for movers, in my experience.
I filled out an internet form for quotes, and while they weren't the cheapest, they definitely had their shit together the best. The fellow on the phone (Charlie, I believe) asked all the right questions, and even waived the travel fee when I told him about a lower quote I had received. -

I had no idea what to expect from a mover, but what I did know was that I had accumulated waaaaay too much stuff over the years, and while I've got lots o' friends with big trucks, I just couldn't do that to them. So I googled Austin movers and these guys popped up.
I called right at the end of the work day and spoke with an owner. I had no idea what I was doing, so he asked a few questions and gave me a quote for what he expected would be a 3 hour job. He then emailed me a formal quote and his cell number in case I had any questions.
On the scheduled date, the movers called to say they were on their way ( a little early since they'd just finished their last job) and as soon as they got to my house, they were flying around moving boxes and furniture faster than I could track. In no time at all, everything I owned (pretty much the entire contents of a 3 bedroom house) was packed in the truck and we were on our way to storage. They unloaded everything at storage and packed in like giant puzzle pieces while I just watched.
It took a little less than 3 hours, and my total bill was less than $250.
The movers were friendly and fast, clearly knew what they were doing, and even managed to lift my dinosaur of an old tv. For as quickly and efficiently as they got everything done, I would have been more than willing to pay twice as much.
In a few months I should be moving into an apartment, and everything will have to come out of storage. I will definitely be using these guys again.
