The Service department deserves an A+. Terry was very helpful and attentive and the whole crew treated me very well.
My insurance company fuc*ed me over big time and they helped me every step of the way and worked within my budget.
THANK YOU!!! -

When I told you the first three times that we didn't want your in house financing, I thought we had made ourselves clear. After settling on the final price, you came back out with a consumer financing form asking for all of our personal information including our social security numbers. After realizing you were going to pull our credit (in a deceptive manner), which could have negatively hurt our credit scores, along with our home purchase planned for later this year.
After refusing to sign the consumer credit form, the sales manager ripped the consumer credit form label off of the top, to which we replied to his actions "you're acting unprofessional" which was followed by him calling us "unprofessional". He claimed that this information was required for the Patriot Act, however, after further research into this area, a SSN is required to be provided to the lenders taking on the financing (which we took care of elsewhere).
Needless to say we had a horrible experience with this dealership.
Way to keep up with the typical car dealership "dirt-bag" perception. Due to his actions, we will be going elsewhere with our business, and be telling everyone we know not to shop at this location.
We did file a complaint with Costco the following morning (went through their auto buying services), and within 5 minutes got an apology from the General Manager which we did appreciate. He stated that his sales manager had acted in an "inappropriate, unprofessional, and unacceptable manner", and that it was an isolated incident. -

I am so glad I found the vehicle I wanted here at Armstrong! I had a horrible experience at Dick Hannah in Vancouver - I walked out after having to yell at the sales manager just to get my keys back so I could leave. I got a great deal all the way around with NO games and no haggeling. Thanks Shannon and team!

Great team! Bill specifically spent a great deal of time working with me. Successfully got me 1.9 interest along with almost 2000 dollars more for my trade in than anywhere else I went. I suggest them for all your new VW car purchases!

I've spent some time on the phone with the Service Department Manager (Lance) and I feel we've gotten to the root of the problem. I no longer believe this was intentional dishonesty. Rather it became obvious that the Service Rep I was dealing with wasn't adequately conveying information from me to the actual Technician doing the service and was also not adequately conveying to me from that Tech. They are giving me credit toward fixing what I now believe to be the actual issue (leaking heater hose allowing air back into the system). The Service Rep in question has been let go. Given the effort they are making to correct the situation, I'm revising my rating and my overall assessment. I'll be returning to Armstrong for the foreseeable future.

I've been to Armstrong VW 2 times now to be the moral support person for 2 friends, both purchasing brand new GTI's. The first was last July and the 2nd being today. A year ago the team was informative and helpful but, a bit slow. Today the sales person we spoke with was great! He was extremely down to earth, not pushy at all and was so helpful to get the exact car my friend wants. Unfortunately my friend has to wait about 4 months in order to get the exact car but, that's the price to pay for special order.
I'd for sure buy a car at this dealership if I was in the market for something new! -

Service appointment that went very well. After another area dealer spent 2 days without diagnosing the problem, I took my car to Armstrong where I was met by a service advisor that listened to my concerns, set me up in a loaner, and 2 hours later called me back to tell me my car was fixed. Seems I had a hole in my battery, thus explaining the electrical problem... Kudos for listening to my concerns and more kudos for actually fixing the car!

TERRIBLE customer service!!
Typical dealership horror story. Took car in for minor issue. Came out with the battery needing replacement and a 13 item long list of other things that were wrong with it. The car was filthy when I got it back, our "account manager" was apathetic and clueless as to what was going on, AND, the original issue is not fixed. I am still being given the run around and excuses as to why it isn't their fault and I should give them more money to find out! wHAT!?
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TiME OR MONEY! Absolutely terrible. -

Definitely buy your new VW at gladstone Armstrong VW. My mother just purchased her Jetta Sportwagon TDI here after a horrible experience at dick hannah vw in portland. We were in and out and there was no sleazy salesmen and no haggling over the price we negotiated online ahead of time. Diamond Bill and Casey were excellent to work with, and so was Chris Porter! Definitely we will be going back there for maintenance and hopefully another TDI for myself!

I recently moved to the area, and my aging Volkswagen New Beetle required service after a lot of "deferred maintenance", so I decided to try this neighborhood dealership's service department.
The first thing I noticed right away was the friendliness of the staff at this dealership. Nobody seemed "pressured", and both the service advisor and shop mechanic I worked with seemed interested in only getting me back on the road as quickly as possible and without too much expense. I gave them a budget figure I needed to stay within, and they made sure to get me out the door without exceeding that budget.
Yes, they are a dealership, so it might have not been the cheapest place in town to get service on paper. However, in the end they threw in a lot of little stuff that a small mechanic shop would have "nickel-and-dimed" you on, and also took the time to show and explain to me what they found and why it needed service.
All in all, an excellent and painless service experience. -

I didn't buy my VW here, but I wish I had. I now come here for all of my maintenance and they are easily the best priced VW dealership in the metro area for maintenance. I've called them all. In addition to having nice reasonable prices they have really nice staff. I love my service guy Phil. He's personable, quick and always upfront about what my charges are going to be. The best thing? I can call on a Wednesday or Thursday and usually get in for service on a Saturday. We have friends who purchased here and they had a great experience too, not something you hear all that often about a dealership.

Last night, I had the pleasure of purchasing a car from this dealership. It was easily the best car buying experience I have had. Everyone in the establishment was very friendly. Unlike other Volkswagen dealerships that I have been to, I didn't (at any point) feel uncomfortable or pressured to make a purchase. They worked very hard to make sure that all my questions were answered and that I left feeling great about my purchase. I look forward to working with them in the future.

I tried to buy a car there. They didn't have the one I was interested in stock but said
they could get one. I went in twice, made repeated phone calls, they said they couldn't get it, wasn't available and never called me back despite saying they would. I made some phone calls to other dealers and they had the car and were all too happy to help. I won't go to Armstrong again. -

I went on Yahoo!Autos, filled out the info about the exact car I wanted and received an email from Bill Hal, Armstrong's so-called fleet manager. He had quotes for about six versions of the Jetta but none were the car I was looking for, the Jetta Sportwagen TDI. I emailed him directly asking for a quote on the correct car and received two obscure emails from him that did not relate to my request.
