The Armory is a great place that mixes two of my passions: graffiti art and hip-hop. They guys at the shop are real friendly and helpful with whatever you need. I also see them out spinning' for community events like the KmB "Frontline" event. Seeing them working out in the community like that is definitely something that keeps me supporting local businesses.

For a small shop, they have a pretty wide selection of tee's, sweatshirts, and hats as well as paints, tips, and markers. What's good about this place is that they also have a decent selection of women's tees, which is hard to find with other small businesses out there. Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough, but The Armory is definitely one of the stores I can go to when I'm in the Downtown area. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES!

Due to the eruption of overpriced high rise condos and subsequent gentrification of Downtown, the Armory had to move from their dope spot on Market to 8th between E and F.  For those of you not in the know...the Armory is the SHIT, don't let the size fool you.  Though they only have 2 racks now, they have a huge inventory in the back.  (Doug K. if it looks like they don't have your size...psst here's a tip, ask King D if they've got one in the back in your size.)  The new design (more sleek than the old spot) and the graff canvases and jackets are a welcome addition.

They've still got the same gear though and this year's release of Armory shirts outdoes last year's by leaps and bounds.  Their stock rotates daily depending on when they get their delivery and who's buying their merchandise, but you can find brands like Rebel 8, Serye, LRG, Top 2 Bottom, Tribal, Fabricali, Akomplice and for the ladies hard to find brands like Your Truly and of course the ubiquitous Jabbawockeez shirts.  If you're lucky you might find some kicks and the new Armory Survival brand jeans too (and who knows maybe even a fake gold rope chain!).  They've also got a great stock of Montana paint, tips, OTR, DVDs and CDs.  Come correct, don't be an asshole, and chop it up with King D...I love him to death!  Cros and D are super nice and very helpful, if you don't see something ask them they might order it for you or have it in the back.

Armory represents SD, support local hiphop!

Really over priced T shirts. I guess if you really want a Jaberwakies shirt that bad it's the place to go but for thirty dollars I'd rather buy a button up shirt. Staff wasn't very friendly (too cool to be friendly). The store doesn't have hours posted so cross your fingers they're there. It's more of an online distribution they don't focus much energy or effort at the local store. I am not trying to put an add up but if you want dope local t shirts with Diego themes check out Bulky Boy is PB.

Great spot for your hiphop lifestyle needs. Everything from BBoy DVD's, to Caps, Fitted Caps, Shirts, Montana Colors and more. If you're from out of town, I definitely recommend that you stop by The Armory to shop.

I will admit, I did see many people with Armory gear in San Diego which isn't a bad thing, but coming from out of town, you can have some nice new gear that folks from your area don't. A gem for sure!

I'm from Washington state and sometimes order some clothes from there. I was down here in San Diego for a couple days and had to check it out. I expected the store to be bigger with a bigger selection of clothes. Although I found a bunch of shirts on the clearance shelf for about $10. The atmosphere was cool. Everyone was cool with everyone. The guys working there had their friends in and out just chillen. Shout out to D for hooking me up and to call him if I needed anything from the store. Also witnessed an accident right in front of the store. D held it down by helping the dudes on the accident.

    Gotta love SD.

Thanks to fellow Yelp members, I took yelp tips upon shopping at this store.  This store is surprising smaller than I expected.  All the shirts on the hangers are basically "displays."  Make sure to ask for sizes--they are helpful and definitely are stocked up in the back.  Don't be fooled.  I went in for a shirt (men's), but left because they had women's in the same style!  I bought both =)

Parking isn't that bad--streets, but you gotta pay for it.  A quarter for 15mins I believe.  The store in on F Street, a little before eighth, so in between ninth and eighth, but literally an inch to eighth.  Don't miss it!

Dopest REAL HIP HOP store in SD, probably on the WEST COAST...

Apparel, shoes, Cd's, bboy videos, accessories...

Yeah LA has Workmens and SF has UpperPlayground and TRUE, but SD has the ARMORY and the ARMORY never lets you down.  Shoot, its cheaper too! ARMORY is probably thee biggest "underground" or real hip hop distributors ever!!

Did you know that the guy working the desk is in the legendary MC group LPSD...if you don't know ask somebody!!

Plus Cros, one of the owners, also promotes downtown spots that play dope music...grab a flier while you are there.

    ONE OF SD"S GEMS!!

When the store is filled with 90% your own private label, you better make sure that it is a hard line to rep in the store.  The quality and look is on par or sub par with the lines you see at the Fam Mart Swapmeet in Daygo... If that is what you are looking for, then this place is for you...

The Armory is holding it down in San Diego.  Whatever supplies you need they got.  Knowledgable staff, good people.  Parkings sucks but its well worth the hike.  They also got a small spot in PB next to access music where they carry clothes.

I have been shopping with the Armory for years and have gotten to know CROS 1 and King D really well.  The clothing options are awesome and the Armory Survival Gear, Top 2 Bottom, and Serye brands are the ish...  They got other brands including The Seventh Letter, Tribal, Fabricali, Dizisit, Akomplice, and Rebel 8.  They have ladies gear too  - but not as much as guys. If you can't find your size of shirt, hoodie, jeans, ect. on the rack ask King D and he will check the stock in the back to see if they got it.  Plus where else can you get B-Boy and Graffiti DVD's as well as markers, caps, and MTN spray paint.  SD I Represent!!!!!

Is this place ever open during business hours? This is the second time I've wasted my time and gas driving to this place to find that the shop is closed. The first time, I had called 5 minutes before I arrived, and when I got there all the lights were on, the sign on the door said "Open" but the door was locked and no employees to be found. So I thought I'd try again today at open and the place is still closed from
the day before. If you're going to be closed during your normal business hours at least leave a note on the door for customers. Don't waste your time on this place... they obviously don't feel the need to waste their time on you either.

What happened to the downtown Armory? I remember going a year or two ago, and it was in a much bigger space with a lot more selection. Now there's only two racks of t-shirts...not much in the way of varied sizes either. I walked past the shop when looking for it, thats how small it is. I hate to rag on the armory because I've bought a lot of stuff there before and they rep SD, but still. I wish they'd go back to offering more substance.

I see no reason why Armory opened up this location. It is small, hot, and there barely any merchandise. Just head over to the Pacific Beach location, Don't waste your time here.
