We worked with a designer on a renovation of our 100 year old craftsman.
The renovation included a new kitchen, two bathroom overhauls and the addition of a new half bath. We worked with our designer on selecting a contractor. Armor came highly recommended. The combination of a very reasonable bid and a great first meeting sealed the deal. Tony Armor was able to start the project immediately; we were leaving on a two month trip making the renovation much easier. We followed Tony's advice and had a moving company clear out the house. Emails & our designer kept us apprised on progress.
The renovation was finished on time and the work met or exceeded our expectations. Yes, we went over budget but in fairness to Armor the overruns were a function of unplanned repairs (plumbing, heating & ventilating and termite damage) that could not be assessed until the interior walls came down.
Tony and his team (Jeff & Tim) showed great respect for our home and worked hard to make the renovation blend with the original design. They also respected our financial constraints and worked hard to contain costs. Finally, any minor problems that have surfaced after we moved back into the house have been taken care of quickly with a smile.
Like many, our previous experience with contractors has been mixed. We entered the renovation with worry about finding an honest and capable contractor ... Armor construction overcame all our concerns. -

After having one pretty awful home remodeling experience way back in the 1980's, my wife and I were determined to search out a contractor who could do great work at reasonable prices. We wanted no repeat performance from a "flaky - fly by night" contractor who would promise us far more than what he could deliver.
We were directed to Armor Construction and Design through a family member who knows the construction industry in the South Bay.
At first, studying their portfolio of $2 million dollar homes, we thought Armor Construction would simply be too "high end" for our budget... but Tony Armor assured us that he was "right" for our job and could deliver a quality project within our budget range.
Tony, his crew foreman Jeff, and all of his various subcontractors were mostly excellent. All of the work was done in a timely manner, to high standards and with great consideration of the harsh reality that we needed to live in our home while it was under construction. Tony and his crew, opened up the ceiling of our living room and added a magnificent t&g wood treatment with box beams. They did a similar treatment in the ceilings of our master bedroom, master bath and kitchen. They also completely redid 2 bathrooms and a total kitchen upgrade - cabinets, granite slabs and tile floors.
Their work was exceptional and after four months of day to day construction, making those unavoidable changes and fixing old problem areas we're still on friendly terms with Tony and his crew.
That said, we highly recommend Armor Construction for new home construction and remodeling services.
