Knowledgable and friendly staff. Awesome coffee roasted on premises. Samples to try in an old Mill setting tucked behind Walmart. A gem to find in Northborough.

I found this coffee to be rich and delicious, and the space to be simple and charming.

Review from Ben F.

This place roasts their own coffee, and it is amazing. From one visit, the proprietor seems to be a coffee geek, which is exactly what I want. This will be my regular coffee source. Goodbye expensive Illy tins.
PS
Don't miss Berberian's Farm across the street -- great fresh local produce.

Be careful pulling out of the parking area; it's on the inside of a blind corner. -
Review from Dan G.
This is pretty neat. I don't drink coffee but this would be perfect for gifts as they carry a wide variety of coffee beans.
Prices aren't even that bad, I think a pound starts at around $10 or so and go up to over $30. If I drank coffee this would be totally worth it. -

Their House Blend is now my morning cup o' coffee -- everyday. I love it! It's a mixture of their light, medium & dark roasts and IMO, it's perfect.
The parking area is a challenge but so worth it. -
Review from Sean M.
These people are expert coffee roasters and my standard order is Sumatra Mandheling French Roast. I especially like the dark roasts.
Of course I always spend way more than the price of 1lb of coffee since they have excellent wines in the back of the store. While they have some unique and reasonably priced wines across a broad spectrum I find the dessert wines to be the best value.
* worth the drive to save $2-$4 on a better product than most chain roasters provide.
* they are fair trade certified.
* if you like wine that alone makes the trip worth it.
* Tanzania Peaberry and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Fair Trade are also favs
* they do mail orderListed in: The Heart of Metro-West

If you are curious about the nuances within regional coffee's + the range of flavors obtained through the roasting process set some time aside for this place. Armeno's is a very out of the way coffee roaster that offers a wide variety of coffee from all regions of the world. Stop by and show some support for a local coffee company!
They also have a humidified wine room enclosed in wooden planks for any wine lovers out there. These wines and other local treats are sampled periodically throughout the year at Armeno's wine tasting.
If getting to Armeno's is an inconvenience, order some samples from their website and see where a cup of their coffee can take you. -

I'll revise this quick hit review after trying a few more of their coffees. The beans I bought on my first trip were wonderful and obviously quite freshly roasted. Although they had a few ready-made coffees for sale by the cup this isn't a sit down coffee cafe.
One warning -- if you're approaching on Otis Street from Route 9, you'll being heading towards the back of the store. The front and parking lot (see photo I posted) are right on a really dangerous and hilly curve in the road. So go slow and look for the back of the old mill building on your right before you see the parking lot or a sign. -

Coffee and steak are along the same lines for me: I would rather just not have them unless I can have the best. That being said, I enjoy my coffee. I first became aware of Armeno's via working at a breakfast/catering joint who used their services, and I'm very glad I did. If you love coffee, you're sure to care about fresh roast and ground, and if you're local, it doesn't get much more fresh than from Armeno. You can find more selection and arguably quality elsewhere, but for the balance of premium bean and cost, there is none better. Now excuse me while I partake in a cup of yemen mocha mattari.
