I am not a member of this church, however i visited this place today for the first time-- and i must say i was impressed!
I came here for their 51st annual Armenian Food Festival and left very happy! Everyone i encountered here was terribly nice and very helpful. The church is Armenian, and you could tell by how much pride a lot of the members showed!
Since i did go to the food festival, I'm kinda reviewing that more than i am reviewing the actually church itself. Like i said, I'm not really a member of the church, but i did enjoy their food! The festival consisted of several booths which were Armenian themed (food, toys, democratic party, Armenian fundraisers) with everyone wanting to show you what they had to offer. There was a stage with some DJ blasting Armenian music which was pretty cool-- teamed with people learning traditional Armenian dancing on the dance floor.
The real treat, however, was the food. The church members must have stayed up all night preparing some of this food because it tasted outstanding-- And I'm not just saying that, either...! It was really, really awesome. The chicken and steak kabobs with pilaf were awesome. The extra dark, extra gritty coffee was awesome. And the pastries? Seriously, some of the best pastries I've ever had... i swear. I LITERALLY tried them all.
If you're part Armenian(like i am) and are interested in getting in touch with your culture a little more, I'd suggest checking out this festival next time it comes around! And if you're Armenian and need to find a new church, i guess I'd suggest this place also, lol... simply based on the friendly people i encountered, the Armenian pride i saw here, and my own willingness to join the church if i needed too...
