STYLISH!!
(4 stars)
I don't typically review about department stores but I must say I am a big fan of Armani Exhange. I'm petite and finding the perfect clothes that are cut and fall on the body nicely can be challenging. Sizes here - perfect for folks like myself. The style is simple and classy, I am considered to be both (not to sound conceited or anything haha). But everytime I "window shop" I end up buying an article of clothing here. YIKES... trying to keep shopping on a budget these days. But LOVES IT!
But I'm going to say one of your sales person is a PRICKFACE. Not sure of the name but I think he's Armanian. Somebody needs to do a drug test on him because he be walking around the store kind of loopy/out of it and bumping into customers like he's a crackhead and doesn'ts say excuse me. Weirdo.
That's all.
WIll I be back? I swing thru quite often.
Until the next review.... -

I love and hate this store.
Love.
Because they have killer sales and the sexiest fitting clothing you can find
Hate.
Because it is so over priced yet I justify racking up my credit cards to buy small articles of clothing
The store is a little disorganized and the staff always seems to be running around. I have always found the staff to be very help full and friendly. The clothes are very well made and if you wash them properly will last a long time. -

I love this shop, despite the unorganized chaos~I found myself straightening the clothes that fell off the hangers returning them to their proper locations.
Anyway, I bought a nice Armani deconstructed black, grey, sequined dress for $39.00. The dress is so comfortable and cool~ -

I love AX but not this particular location . They have a limited selection of clothes here and their selection isn't that great . Their selection of clothes in the sales section isn't as great as other stores either . I can find cute pieces of clothing in the sales section at other AX stores but I can never find any cute pieces of clothing in the sales section at this store .

They have the worse customer service here. My friend and I came here to do a return. Waited in line for 20 mins. No one greeted! Saw one cashier helping a customer. 6 employees standing behind the register talking among each other. I get it, you guys are close friends but please see there are customer's in the store waiting to be helped.
Finally after we did the return my friend wanted to look around, let me just say this store is a mess. Clothes were on the floor. None of the clothes on the table were folded. How do they expect people to shop when they cannot keep the store clean and have so many employees just standing and not working? I saw the clothes on the floor and it was dirty with black marks on them. I would not purchase an item that has dirt marks on them.
Finally after an hour we were able to make it out of the store.
20 mins to wait for a cashier to do the return
20 mins to look and browse
20 mins waiting for a cashier to ring out up for the items we were purchasing.
Never returning to this AX again. I rather drive 45 mins to the one in Valley Fair because they are cleaner and more friendly. -
Review from Enza P.
I was happy to shop at this Armani. They had a larger selection of sale items than the store at valley fair.
The customer service was not as good as other locations, but still very good. I found two shirts for a steal and didn't have to wait long to pay.
The store is more messy than other locations I've been to but I went after Christmas, so I wasn't expecting anything more.
I would come back to this Armani most definitely because of their deals. I wouldn't have gotten some of the same deals at other locations. -

I walked in to get my guy some of those sexy beckham underwear. Walked in and walked right out. I don't think I have ever seen a store so trashed in my life.
I couldn't see the floor to walk and the tables we just heaps of rags. Granted it was the Saturday after Christmas, but the other stores we were in and out of managed to be clean and much much more tidy.
Much to my chagrin, I had to walk across the street to Macy's to get the bun hugging accessories I was after -

I luv AE clothes. Other than Hugo Boss, Z Zegna, Theory and Armani,
AE is one of my favorite labels. They make trendy clothes in a slim cut
fit that fits my body type.
I have a muscular build, but a slim waist, thus only certain designers make clothes that fit my body well.
AE makes great clothes and is very reasonably priced compared to other labels. -

I've been to this A-Ex a dozen different times and only ended up purchasing a handful of items. for some reason, this store is a total browse-only store because most of their stuff isnt the 'greatest' quality and it is a bit pricey. (and I only say this because I bought a logo sweater for full price and the cashmere started to ball up in places)
I do have a weakness for their sweaters and post-winter they have some awesome sales. They also have the cutest dresses and jackets. I love how their clothes fit on me, but their line just seems a little too bland for my taste, especially if you're paying that much for clothes...
Tip for the petite women: If their pants dont fit (size 0) ask for the 0 Petite! I asked a salesguy if he had anything smaller than a 0 and he brought out a Petite size from the back. Sometimes they dont even bother putting the petite stuff out on the racks.Listed in: Size 0 and Counting

Review from Wilson K.
"You know how you were talking about their quality?" asked my friend as she showed me a shirt she had purchased from this location. She tilted the shirt to show me where the shirt was coming apart at the seam.
Nice! Because I had also purchased a cardigan here and the back flap was coming off.
I come back to return it and as a courtesy I show the manager that the item is damaged. He tells me that he can't accept WORN items. I tell him that the item isn't worn (which it wasn't) and that I had purchased the item that way. It was damaged the first day I received it and everyone in my class lay witness to it because I had GASPED in horror at their shoddy quality and everyone turned to look at me.
Anyway, the manager looks at me skeptical... then SNIFFS it. Then he examines the sleeves. Never mind that I still had the original bag, the tags were still on,the receipt was perfect and smooth. No, none of that mattered. He was calling me a liar and rubbing it in my face!!!
He goes and says that the flap was clearly snagged on something from being worn and that he was doing a courtesy of even giving me a store credit or an exchange. What a load of crock.
Anyway, I couldn't deal anymore with this B.S. because I was already having a very long day. Regardless, I think they treat their customers HORRIBLE, it was embarrassing to have him call me a liar and SNIFF the freaking cardigan, and their quality has gone to CRAP.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS LOCATION. BAD SERVICE, BAD QUALITY PRODUCTS, AND BAD MANAGEMENT.
I spent thousands at a/x and after this, over a 60 dollar purchase, I have to say that I won't be spending anymore of my money here. I'm giving A/X THE AX!
P.S. the damn merchandise credit they gave me is on a receipt. So I'm supposed to keep three receipts in order to cash back out my return? Give me a freaking plastic card! You know the company is just hoping you'll toss it or lose it!
P.P.S. My friend that showed me her item coming apart returned her's the same day as I did for her money back to the same manager. She also showed him that her's was damaged. If you're going to treat people like shit at least be consistent. You can't cherry pick on who you're going to force a merch credit on. Inconsistency is another sign of POOR MANAGEMENT.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Antonio,
I hope you know how much of a rock star Armani Exchange employee I think you are. Always greeting me with the most effusive smile. Taking time to show me the newest products. Complimentary when something looks sharp, and recommending an alternative when my original idea isn't the best. I like you.
But I feel as if I broke your heart after you sold me on the most awesome jacket ever. You built up my sartorial ego, let me know how good it looked, and infused me with the confidence to walk out the front door and ask out the next person I saw.
But as I felt compelled today to share, that person would be a girl.
Sorry. I hope this doesn't change our relationship. It's healthy, productive and we're both better for it. And I am totally flattered. And I do like you.
I just don't like you like you.1 Previous Review: Show all »

hmm... well I like the location (right near the Westfield shopping centre which I commonly frequent). The store isn't huge, but I seem to find what I'm looking for when the store @ Stanford is out of stock.
Long lines and a pain to find parking (it *is* SF afterall). -

I came here with my friend when it was on a big sale one time. We had time to kill before our dinner appointment. There were lots of girls shopper roughly my size but more petite and they just come towards me and my friends and started searching and touching whatever we were looking for..?! I mean, I would pick up an item, look at it and I put it back, someone somewhere would immediately picked it up and examined it too, then put it back lol... That was very strange! Those people were already in the store while I just got in! Sorry to say they are Asian girls too and shot me glances making me uncomfortable. Having said that I were able to find a very sexy and nice black silk shirt while they were graping at those printed T-shirts.... I knew we had different taste! :p
3 stars for the shopping experience the fellow shoppers gave me or I'd given a 4 stars. -

I'm an A|X whore but I know what I like and what I don't like.
Likes:
SWEATERS
COATS.
The music is loud. Service is okay, generally a so so. Sometimes it's good - like you'll get someone who actually wants to help you and sometimes you'll get someone who is cranky and thinking "Geezus, does this bitch REALLY need another size?!" Sometimes there are hot male employees but they're gay anyway. Oh well, it's always fun to look.
Stay away from obnoxious logo apparel that screams "HEY LOOK! I'M WEARING ARMANI EXCHANGE! I CAN AFFORD IT!" here unless you want to come off as a trendy motherfucker who shops at A|X like those that buy their ugly logo shirts and pair it with cheap leather jackets. Uh huh, I know you're sitting there in front of your screen laughing and nodding your heads. I know you know know what i'm talking about. You've seen it before and you've thought "Oh God, that is so absurd and fugly!" -

How a typical trip into A|X goes for me:
Step 1: Notice cute shirt a few steps away
Step 2: Pick up cute shirt
Step 3: See ginormous A|X logo on shirt, which was not visible when shirt was folded
Step 4: Place shirt back down
Repeat at least two more times, then leave the store once again feeling confused, yet a little entertained by all the people being ripped off. -

I think only the sale items in this store are worth the price, other than that, it's not worth to buy anything that you could get somewhere else for half the price. I do like their fashion, but to me, the cost is insane. Maybe others who have money disagree, but this place is over hyped.
The store is small and i haven't been in here much, but I've never received any snobby remarks or bad service from the cashiers. -

Nice thick denim. ...drool...
I am warm, I am warm! These are the best SF jeans I have found. And they fit perfectly. I had to try on 8 pairs, but I actually found a pair that fit and they are hot. My ass looks real good in'em and since I have a big butt, but not a huge stomach, it is nice to find a fit that is not loose around my waist, but tight on the ass n thighs. it's almost like i'm half black. for real. but like i said, i think i tried every pair in the place. i will probably come back here next year when i need jeans again and see if i can find another winner. otherwise i don't know where to turn...
jesus, i almost forgot. if you have low self-esteem you can come here and every hot foreign guy in the store will flirt with you at least once. at first i was overwhelmed by this, but i mean, i got over that quite quickly.
As for the shirts, my rule is that you are not allowed to wear a logo for a company unless a majority of your clothing comes from there. otherwise you are just trying to be associated with something you are certainly not associated with and that is cheating. other rich people might mistake you as one of their own and problems will ensue... -
Review from Jim G.
Redwood City, CA
After being told by my new summer job boss that I had to wear plain, completely black, boring slacks as part of the standard uniform, I set off in search for some. Nothing too wide, nothing too long, nothing too ugly.
H&M gets negative 1 star for not having ANYTHING in my size, but having the exact trousers that I wanted. Damn Scandinavians...who are so hot.
I walked into A|X like a bit of a lost puppy. I've never really shopped in one before. Sure I've walked into them, but I've never taken a good, solid, serious look around. I found a pair of black linen trousers that fit the criteria. Not 10 seconds later, a cute sales boy (R.J.) asked me if I wanted a fitting room.
Now, usually I feel overwhelmed by such vulturous acts in retail venues, but he was so natural about it. Then whilst I was trying on the trousers, he asked if I needed anything else or if I was going to try on any tops, again in a non-agressive tone. He then took them to the girl at the register where he thanked me.
{One} star goes to R.J. for not being viscious. (and cute).
(One} star for A|X actually having trousers that fit.
{One} star for the hot store advertisements (I'm a photography major- sue me!)
{One} star goes to the register girl for saying I have "really cute hair".
--------
{Four} stars overall for A|X.Listed in: Let's Go Shopping!!

Review from Kingpin X.

I don't buy a lot of stuff from here - it is kinda pricey for what it is, although if people ask you where you got it, you do have the opportunity to tell them, saying "Armani" load and clear while disguising the rest by coughing into your hand.
I had a fabulous leather blazer that from here several years ago that I used to wear just about all the time as it was good for both work and leisure. Just about the only time I took it off - to put on my Giants colors - it was stolen from my truck while I was at the game.
Although I know that this jacket is almost certainly discontinued, irreplaceable, and unaffordable, I occasionally venture into AX in fruitless pursuit. Still miffed from my visit to the treacherous, bait-and-switchers at Macy's, I recently took another chance at the Stockton St branch.
I always feel out of place at AX, but he sales staff were remarkably encouraging and helpful. I found a number of likely looking jackets and came away with a rather shiny, non-leather-but-waterproof car-coat.
It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, and I needed a little encouragement to buy it (although t was a bargain!). I should not have worried. It must at least be "striking" as I have had all the attentions and compliments of my lady-friends who coo and ask where I got my purple-lined, shiny, "Prince-coat".
I, of course, reply "ARMANI... cough!", and allow them to touch it's shininess. It works - I should have gotten two! -

A|X has a nice selection of hip sweaters and accessories for men; this is always one of my first stops if I'm shopping for my brother.
I rarely find anything for myself, though, as the women's line is tragically uninspired. Girls' jackets are cute enough, though certainly not worth their asking price, and tops look like they came out of that awkward early 90s period when fashion was in a major neon-baggy-scrunchy funk.
Armani Exchange's denim, however, is worth making a special trip for. Their jeans fit so perfectly--I find them easily as flattering as any pair from Diesel--and they're super comfortable too. New pairs are expensive, but there's always a good selection on sale for very decent prices ($55-$70). -

Bought a neat pair of glares the first time I stepped in a few months ago. Went back and bought a watch and shirts for my hubby. All of which are not blingy but subtle n sophisticated - as stylish as they can be!
So far have had no complaints on quality. The pricing is inexpensive for the brand value.
I haven't bought anything on a sale yet, but going by other reviews, I would love to buy more during a sale and yes I love their customer service..They make you feel valued! -

I happen to like my body. In fact, l kind of love my body. So it pains me to no end when I see people walking around with AX splattered across their chest on their shirts, on the asses of their pants, the backs of their jackets...it's just like death because you can't escape it.
I fail to see the innovation for this-The lowest on the totem pole for the Armani brand. I suppose you have to be a little eccentric to wear this. It's a rich mans Old Navy. But enough about the clothing...let's talk about the experience as whole.
Walking into this place I always expect a little bit more than what I get, and I am usually disappointed, but this time I was treated to something special. Upon walking in I get a very disturbing look from the security (secret service wannabe) guard I could just tell that he was going to have his eye on my. So I am doing my thing as my friends (I would never come in here by myself) shop on. Within 2 minutes I was accosted by 3 members of the sales force they have there, I simply walk out...but not before I get another smug look by security.
Armani Exchange take note: I am not a perpetrator, nor should you look at people in your store with such a stereotypical attitude.
Shitty clothing, shitty sales team, shitty security and an overall shitty experience. Oh yea....and your prices for everything there are shitty too! -

Review from Berty B.
San Francisco, CA
I went here to buy a pair of dark jeans in the sale - all the walking around has lost me a couple of inches off my waist. I want jeans that are tight, right at the back was where they had the remaining items. I looked through the styles and pulled out 3 or 4 that I liked in or near my size.
K comes over, we shake and exchange pleasantries.
I go into my cubicle and try on for fit. The pair I like are too large, so I go out ask K to get next down. I have on the cheapest, I tell K that I particularly like the more expensive ones but only really want these for "scruffy". He lets me know though that the ones I'm wearing are a good fit (and actually I want to know that!).
I get a price check on the more expensive ones but no reduction.
As I'm going to pay, my eyes catch another item in the sale. I've seen a black shirt, its the gayest shirt I have EVER seen. It is black lace with black velvet - like flock wallpaper if you know it. As I'm imagining wearing it at the sales kick-off K comes over.
He tells me that his friend bought one at full price and liked it so much, he bought another at reduced price. K tells me I would look good in it - so I discuss how my body is just not the one for this shirt. K tells me to try it on, as I've got visions in my head of shocking everyone at the coming sales kick off in Boston, I take it and head for the cubicle.
K, asks me to come out and let him see me wearing it.
I go into my hole, try it on and because of the price and the effect it will have on my work colleagues decide to buy it. I take it off, redress and begin to exit the cubicle.
K comes over, looks longingly into my eyes (I think?) and says "I soo wanted to see you in that".
Haha, now get this.
I go back into the cubicle, take off my top and come out with said see-thru shirt on. K, gives me the once over.
I've been away from the UK for too long.
(At the kickoff I made a total arse off myself in it - apparently Iggy Pop had nothing on me. Thank God I didn't go for nipple rings!) -
Review from Zazzy K.

I walked into this store with exactly 75 minutes to find a suit for a wedding. An nice young man named Johnny immediately comes up to offer his help. I told him what I needed: A soft butch suit that won't make me look like a woman dressing up in men's clothes. Johnny (with the help of his co-workers throwing in their opinions) set me up with a very cool suit and shirt in no time. He listened to what I liked and was not shy with feedback, which is what I needed. He brought me different sizes and suggested colors I wouldn't have thought of.
I've gotten loads of compliments already on the 2 times I've worn the suit.
When I called a few days later to have them set aside another item for me, it was waiting for me with my name on it when I came in.
It was the kind of service you expect from a store with prices like that (not cheap), but rarely seem to get these days. -

I really like this store. Living in the Central Valley, I like being able to buy things here that I don't see 10 other guys wearing on the street the next day. Prices are about comparable to Abercrombie & Fitch, as is the noise level. I really appreciate the detail and quality of the shirts I have bought there, as it is noticeably better than anything I have owned previously.
A note to those who complain about the loud music and logos: What do you expect when you go to a chain like this?? Although they have different prices, Abercrombie, Hollister, American Eagle, Ruehl, and A|X all have loud music and large logos in common, so if that isn't your cup of tea, you may want to shop elsewhere. -

If Abercrombie is the equivalent of a gay circuit party replete with topless muscle queens blowing each other between bumps of crystal meth and monosyllabic chitchat, then Armani Exchange is the club where starved Eurofag street walkers who wear garish, too-tight logo tops with thirteen zippers troll for a trvial fuck, only they're not Belgian or Slovakian -- they're all a bunch of skinny gaysians with fauxhawks. AND NO, that wasn't me exiting the store, go fuck yourself.

Horrible policies.
I bought a men's shirt for a Christmas gift and at the time, the store was having a 30% off sale. Turns out the shirt was too small.
After Christmas, I go in with my receipt to exchange the shirt for a larger size. The store wouldn't honor the original discount, and told me that the shirt is now selling for more and that I'd have to pay the difference if I want to exchange the size. WHAT?? that's ridiculous. I wanted the same shirt, just a different size.
Considering their prices, what you get, and I bought it as a gift - their policies are totally off. Never going there again. -

I wished they had more nicer sale items. I saw a cute shirt while shopping DT. I tried it on and loved it but had to think about it. When I came back the next day, it was gone! Not anywhere in sight! I had to ask one of the employees to help me. With my non helpful description, he looked everywhere. My bf ended up finding it in the corner of the store. I give the place 3 stars for the friendly helpful sales employees. I also love the fact that they are stocked with all sizes (xs is what I wear and am ecstatic when I can find it) But I can never find anything I like here.

um. i dont know where the disconnect between emporio armani and armani exchange is? there is a MAJOR gap in this company's aesthetics, but only 1 block away from each other in SF. i will say, they have really nice accessories/small leather goods here occassionally, that are surprisingly not very expensive. i was even able to find a really nice trendy purse for a great price once in LA a few years ago.
last friday they had a bunch of models in the window wearing just underwear. girls were giggling/blushing. it caused a frenzy with people photographing them using tripods. i get made fun of for frequently carrying a digicam around, WHO carries around a tripod?!
nice underwear though. -

Antonio! Oh, Antonio. I can't understand half of the shit coming out your mouth, but you've got positive energy, a good eye, and a great understanding of what it takes to make it in commission-based sales. I walked in looking for a shirt, but came out with a shirt, jeans, and sweater to the tune of 3 franklins. You even wrestled the mannequin to score me the last size medium in the sweater. Giorgio would be proud.

Why? It's not really Armani it's more like glitzy GAP. I bought a couple of cotton linen sweaters from the Beverly Center AX in LA a while back at 70% very good looking one in a sky blue, the other in a flax color, after wearing it four times it started to unravel! TOTAL JUNK., and this junk is NOT inexpensive. Hell it's not even made in Italy. i don't believe it's even available in Italy! You're better off going to Banana Republic or GAP, better yet Zara. And all those eagles and ARMANI logos on the clothing, it's tacky, but Emporio does the same thing but then I don't think much of Emporio either. it's black label or nothing. Don't waste your money on the other lines.

I have a weakness at Armani Exchange it seems every time I am there I end up buying something! One draw back is the music I feel that I am at a club somewhere in Europe then a clothing store in San Francisco. Other then the music the clothes are great they actually have a petite section Yeah!
