I'm a New Yorker born and raised and with that honor comes a love for pizza. Come on, I'm not just talking any pizza... I'm saying a perfect NY style pizza pie. We all know there is an obvious East Coast/West Coast thing going on between NY style and Chicago style pizza but I'm not into the hype... I'm a lover not a fighter. I view Chicago style pizza like I would Lasagna or Manacotti... it's a meal not a snack. Armand's has been a staple in the Tenleytown area for as long as I can remember. Unlike a NY style pizza joint you cant just wander in alone. A slice or two and you're done so come prepared to bring others to help you complete. I'm not huge on the "meat extravaganza" pizzas. I always thought that such a pizza was kinda glutenous and was pretty much under the philosophy that less toppings is more but I did order one here and honestly it was pretty awesome. Appropriately named "The Hammer" it was filled with such things as pepperoni, sausage, bacon.. etc...etc. I went here for a business meeting/lunch and got hold of one that I loved. The prices are cheaper than other Chicago pizza joints I've been to and they also deliver if you are local. Grubs ~
