MMMMMF. SO GOOD.
The burritos are just heavenly goodness. So delectable. I can find this place just by following my nose in the morning. The delicious aromas just waft from the truck and down the street drawing in passerby to delicious breakfast and lunch fare.
You definitely won't finish your meal from here and feel healthy, but oh will you ever feel satiated. And your tastebuds will be singing.
I certainly recommend all of the breakfast burritos and additionally, recommend sticking around even if there is a line. It will be worth it my friend. -
Review from Aditya R.
Sweet mother of God! I don't know how I haven't reviewed this place yet. Armando's was a staple for when I was a graduate student at USC. It was the perfect 5 minute walk from office and on a warm day his food just brought so much joy to my afternoons.
The spicy chicken sandwich: I can shut my eyes and imagine the crunchy texture on my teeth, the first few flavor explosions in my front tongue and the juices filling the middle of my tongue as I chew into this delicious sandwich, of course in slow motion of course. In real time I'm pretty much wolfing it down like I haven't eaten in days.
Great food. I've had everything on his menu barring a few of the breakfast items. Nice friendly chap, I must say. The prices are great and OMG, that hot sauce of his is SOO good.
There aren't too many fond food memories of USC, but this is one that always stands out. I continue to visit him every time I visit Los Angeles. He's a memory burn - for sure ;-) -
Review from Sally E.
Oh, Armando's. I've literally heard about this place SO many times, so I finally decided to venture over and try for myself. I had a carne asada burrito, and while it was good, I have to admit, it didn't blow my mind. GASP (*cue judgmental looks from my peers here*)
There are so many 5 star reviews for this place, so my expectations were EXTREMELY high. However, my burrito was good. Pretty good, actually. I also really enjoyed the hot sauce (apparently it's homemade? That's awesome). But I liked it, not loved it.
Apparently, I have to order the chicken sandwich. Yelpers seem to raving about it, so I'll definitely try that next time. They also have a phone number so you can text your order which is sweeeet. The line was a bit long when I showed up.
Armando's is a great place to go near USC that doesn't rip you off. You can't get a $5 meal anywhere on campus (or at any food truck for that matter), so I am thankful for Armando's. I'll be returning again to sample some other items on your menu. -

I actually never heard of Armando's until yesterday when I volunteered for USC. Someone mentioned that this was the "famous Armando's Burritos" but I had no idea what to expect, especially for a food truck. The Volunteer Center catered Armando's with free lunch for the volunteers, and when I took the first bite out of my burrito, I was pleasantly surprised.
My lunch was catered so there were a couple of options to choose from but I chose the chicken burrito. I'm not sure if it's the same type as the one on the menu because I noticed the menu said beans were on the burrito but the one I had was bean-free. That was even better for me because I don't really enjoy beans in my burrito. My chicken burrito was flavorful and the filling was nicely distributed. I hate having all rice on one side with the meat on the other end. I'm assuming the guy who took my order was Armando. He was friendly and didn't seem annoyed when I asked him what my choices were. I love that my burrito was made fresh so everything was hot. The green sauce that was included added some extra wonderful flavor.
Even though my lunch was free, I looked at the menu prices and wouldn't mind paying for my next meal at Armando's since the portions kept me full for very long. The prices were extremely affordable, especially for us college kids. I need to try to find this truck sometime! -

Absolutely great. Prices are cheap but everything is delicious. Have yet to order something bad off the menu. I loved the breakfast burritos, spicy chicken sandwich, and the "Sanchez". Highly recommend it.

Review from Belle S.
When I used to be an undergraduate at USC 3 years ago, I used to eat here almost everyday. Everything on the menu was delicious, but my absolute favorite thing about this place was the salsa roja. The chicken sandwich was usually my order of choice and completely affordable. Also to note are the breakfast sandwiches and almost any burrito. Since I've graduated and left the area, I've tried going back to this spot a few times but haven't had any luck with finding the truck. Perhaps it has moved since 2009? One day, I hope to return to meet this good food whilst reminiscing fond memories from my young adult life.

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love Armando's and can't believe it took me until last year to discover this gem. My favorites (there are many) are the Lendale, a breakfast sandwich with sausage, bacon, egg, hash browns, cheese and jelly, the California Burger, USC Chicken Sandwich, the Sanchez and the Texas Burger. I love how you can also get pretty much anything here and not spend over $7, drink included.
With that being said, WHERE IS ARMANDO?! This truck is not the same without his presence. After a few times there, he remembered me and greeted me every single time I walked up to the truck. I've noticed some mishaps like burnt chicken and undercooked bacon that didn't seem to happen when he was there. I don't know if I'm just making this up in my brain, but another person's post ahead of me confirmed my suspicions. Armando's isn't the same...without Armando. He hasn't been around since last semester and I'm starting to get worried. I hope everything is okay and he comes back soon! Whatever the case may be, you will be able to find me wandering over to his lunch truck every now and then because it's still THAT delicious and affordable.
Tips: if going at peak breakfast or lunch hours, call or text ahead of time. It will save you a lot of time. Also, cards are now accepted without any minimum or surcharge. Ask for the hot sauce and give it a shot. It might not be for you since it's pretty spicy, but you never know until you try! -
Review from Brenda Y.
Armando, you should win a medal for your service to the USC community. Your breakfast burritos and spicy chicken sandwich are perfect before or between class. The sense of privilege has dissipated a little ever since construction forced you to leave your secret enclave on campus and mingle with the rest of the food trucks on Jefferson and McClintock, but that's okay. Thank you for recently investing in a nifty device that attaches to your iPhone and allows you to accept credit cards. Also, I deeply appreciate being able to order via text message and pick up my order so quickly. Say hello to your beautiful wife and maybe slip me the recipe to the delicious, smokey concoction that is her hot sauce.
All best... until tomorrow!
Brenda Y.
P.S. Armando is currently on vacation until February 2012, or so I'm told. Consequently, I've seen a distinct downward trend away from perfection e.g. over-crispy bacon, un-melted cheese. Come back!! -

Affordable and always delicious! You can grab a really filling breakfast or lunch for under $5 at this truck.
Unlike the rotating lunch trucks just a block away, Armando's truck is here EVERY weekday. "Hmmm ... I really want a super yummy sandwich, but I don't want to walk all the way over to Jefferson/McClintock if the truck isn't there today ..." There's no guessing with Armando! He's always here!
Try the turkey melt :) Mmmmm ... They give you plenty of avocado! The tacos and burritos are great, too.
This truck accepts credit/debit cards, which is a perk! You can walk directly here without stopping at BofA across the street ;) -

There are only so many places you can go for lunch when you don't have a car at USC. One of these places is Armando's Lunch truck.
If you live in either Fluor or Webb Tower, Armando's Lunch Truck is only a short walk away. For everyone else, it's a bit of a walk, but it is worth every step.
We don't live in in either of these buildings, so after our trek, we were elated to see Armando in his cute little truck, serving student after hungry student. Without hesitation, we jumped in line.
Recommended by both Yelp and Armando himself, the spicy chicken sandwich seemed to be the way to go. Our sandwiches came out one by one, and were handed to us smelling so, so good.
And unsurprisingly, the sandwich was that good. But that's about it. The ingredients were fresh, the breaded chicken was nicely spiced and seasoned, the sandwich was filling... but I wasn't left speechless. I took my first bite, appreciated it, and continued to nibble away at my sandwich.
Armando, you seem like a very nice man. I'm confident that you have many, many friends - and customers! I will still be one of your customers because you do have a nice business going and your food is worth the money!Listed in: Food Truck Feats, USC for Yourself!

Typically when I get food at a food truck, it costs about $2 more than I think it should. At Armando's this is not the case - five bucks will get you something good. I'm befuddled by the number of reviews from people who are just salivating over the food - seriously, it's good, but it's not as good as people are making it out to be... I've had the spicy chicken sandwich that so many people extolled in these reviews, and it was pretty unremarkable. I really don't understand why every drools over it because I've eaten many chicken sandwiches better than this. There is a lot of hype for this truck; I suppose people just want to believe that the food is good. Don't get me wrong, I come here quite often and overall it's a good truck, but the reason I gave this place four stars is because it's so cheap.

the chorizo burrito may have been 4 stars but the spicy chicken sandwich was just meh. perhaps i'm colored by the amazing chicken sandwich i had at son of a gun, which i shouldn't even compare this to considering that it was twice as more expensive. in any case, i can't really complain because the sammich and bottled water was only $6.

Solid, but I don't like their egg.
The steak is tasty and I heard the grilled cheese is great.
If the dude at the cashier is Armando, then he's really chill. If the dude at the cashier isn't Armando, he's still really chill.
Gotta try some other stuff.
Really convenient and the wait has never been too long, even at peak lunch hours while rushing from class to class. -

WHaaa??? I can't believe I never wrote a review for this place...blasphemy!
This is the best hidden secret at USC. Everything they have is delicious and cheap!
I always get the lendale. It's basically a sandwich filled with eggs, bacon, hash browns, cheese, and even jelly if you want. It sounds weird at first, but it's absolutely amazing. -
Review from Marcus A.
Los Angeles, CA
Armando's is hand's down the best food on USC's campus and what's more it's the most affordable. USC charges an arm and leg for anything resembling food, so this hidden taco truck is a major find. Save yourself 7 dollars, by picking up a 5 dollar lunch here and one that actually tickles your taste buds.
I usually go for the carne asada burrito con lechuga, although I'll mix it up now and then with the carnitas. I'm not a big fan of rice in burritos, but their rice has a nice soft texture and they mix in some peas and it just works, don't ask me why. They offer the perfect beans to rice to meat ratio. Nothing pisses me off more then when I bite into a burrito and find beans and rice galore, with just a little bit of meat down the side. Now this may shock and surprise, but it's not the healhiest food around. That being said I ordered the carne asada burrito twice this week. I normally bring my own food for lunch, but this week was a buy week for me and the taco cart is visible from my office window and what else is a boy to do?
If I'm feeling particularly frisky I'll order up the spicy chicken sandwich or the philly cheese steak. Is the philly cheese steak actually a philly cheese steak? - no, but that doesn't stop me from loving it. And don't even get me started on the pupusas plate. They don't have pupusas everywhere you go in Los Angeles and Armando's serves them up with a nice cabbage slaw with just enough vinegar to bring a little bite. I usually happen upon it once or twice a semester, as It's a weekly special, and on those days I walk up and see that little sign hanging down below the order window I feel like Armando just picked me up for a ride on his sunshine train.
No matter what I order I get one green sauce, one red sauce and a bag of pickled jalapenos, onions and carrots. Stuff the jalapenos and onions in whatever you order and slather it with both sauces combined. I guarantee you it's lunch time heaven and you'll be walking on rainbows the rest of the day.
If you already ate lunch once today, go back, eat again, you won't be disappointed you did.
PS. They do serve breakfast too and it's just as good as lunch. Just Do It. -

Alhambra, CA
The only truck that is located on campus all year round serving the most consistent food I've had so far.
The breakfast burrito and fish taco are both good! It's not exactly a place to wait in line for if you're tight on time but if there's no line, which is rare during lunch hour, it's possible to get your order in under 10 minutes. Definitely worth the wait though if you're willing to, and the service is great. -

Just had the bacon, steak and cheese. It is NOT a philly steak and cheese but I knew that going in. It was VERY good. Make sure you get that hot sauce to go with it. Can't beat the food for the price!!

Armando's runs a solid lunch truck. I do find it interesting that the regular food trucks at USC aren't taco trucks but lunch trucks, with a lot of the newschool trends parked along Jefferson by McClintock, but Armando's has been here long before they arrived. The food at this truck is a lot better than at Sam's (not to take anything from the man, who is the warmest, kindest gentleman at HSC), but Armando's is the one place I'll go to for lunch if I have to eat something at main campus. Keep in mind, it is just a lunch truck, so I wouldn't consider it worth it to drive here just for food, but it's definitely one of the best options if you're at USC.
I like the spicy chicken sandwich (or Mark Sanchez, which is similar but comes with ranch sauce), the grilled cheese grande, and all the breakfast items, but my favorite is the Arizona sandwich, which has steak with grilled onions & mushrooms and avocado.
It can be a wait here, depending on what time of day you are. I would suggest calling in your order if it's around lunchtime. If you want the full experience, grab your sandwich, a bag of chips, and a bottle of soda, head over to the grass by the new cinema building, and enjoy an afternoon picnic with warm sunshine and clear blue skies on the beautiful campus of USC. -

I really like Armando, he is absolutely great, and friendly, and knows everyone. He's the real draw for the truck. Otherwise, the breakfast burritos are pretty decent. The burgers are fine, but not anything special.
I just gotta say, though, except for the carne asada tacos, none of the others do it for me. He puts some kind of sweet sauce thing on them that I really don't like. There are so many really great taco trucks in the area (don't get me started on how much I like lengua, cabesa and buche, baby) that I probably wouldn't eat here except for the convenience, and Armando. -
Review from Matthew W.
Los Angeles, CA
This truck defines "good." All of the other food trucks driving around worrying about the "Twitters" and the "Social Medias" must be wasting their energy on that, because Armando's is the truck to beat.
Quietly nestled in the beautiful facilities parking lot by the Lyon Center and the SCA sits the best eatery on USC's campus; I have not ordered one thing I didn't love from this truck and I am slowly working my way down the menu.
One of my go-to favorites is the Bacon Breakfast Burrito: a simple tortilla enclosing eggs, potatoes, and the greatest bacon you have ever had. Seriously, they must cook the bacon in Jesus Juice or something because this stuff is too good to not be the product of intelligent design. Amazing. Drown this baby in their phenomenal salsa, and you got yourself one of the greatest portable breakfasts (or any meal for that matter) that man has ever seen.
I'm also a fan of the burger with the bacon and avocado. I can't remember what their name for it is at the moment, but it is quite devine.
Pro-tip: When ordering a burger they won't typically ask you if you want the salsa. Ask for it. Pour it on and consume. You will thank me later. -

Armando is the man!
I discovered this food truck halfway through the year, right by the cinema school where I work and take classes. Not only is its location convenient, the food is delicious, the selection is wide, and the prices are cheap.
No longer cash only, which is a plus (when I'm starving and willing to pay an extra 50 cents to use a card).
Steak sandwiches are good, but I really like their burritos. Hits the spot every time.

I really love this truck.
Armando himself is very nice and personable. He constantly refers to you as "my friend" and never fails to ask how you're doing. After going there for breakfast burritos and asking for hot sauce a couple of times, he began to give me hot sauce automatically and confirms it in a way that tells me "I remember you."
The food there is also great, and cheap too! It's one of the cheapest places on campus to eat. Beside the standard USC favorites like the Chicken, Carne Asada and breakfast burritos or the tacos, I'd like to recommend two "secret menu" items.
The Lendale:
The Lendale is a breakfast sandwich named after Lendale White, who apparently constantly ordered this sandwich. It has hashbrowns, sausages, bacon, and eggs in sourdough bread with strawberry jelly. A great breakfast sandwich.
The Greg Sandwich:
Yes, it seems as though many of the "secret" sandwiches seem to be named after people. The Greg Sandwich is named for a buyer who constantly added vegetables to the Cedric Sandwich, a sandwich which I believe is already on the menu. The Greg Sandwich consists of eggs, hashbrown, sausage, bacon, avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes (the Cedric is just a breakfast sandwich) with a long sesame seed bun. It is typically about 6 inches long.
The only complaint I have about Armando's Lunch Truck (or Armando's Catering), is that some of the burritos (especially the breakfast ones) are kind of small. The drinks there are also somewhat expensive, but that is somewhat expected from a lunch truck. Otherwise it's a great place to eat, and I highly recommend it for those on the USC campus to try out! -
Review from Thia G.

Of COURSE I had to review Armando's, given that as a music major at USC his truck was just a 2 minute walk away from the practice rooms. Pretty much anything you order is less than $5 (cash only).
Favorites: SPICY CHICKEN SANDWICH ($4.75) and CARNE ASADA BURRITO. I also like the summer burrito.
I give it 5 stars b/c Armando is really friendly, really cool, and the food ALWAYS tastes good and hits the spot. AND it's cheap.
Lunchtime gets WAY busy, so do like the regulars do, and program Armando's cell phone number into your phone.
Also, if you're obsessed with SC's football team, a ton of athletes come here very often.
BEST place to eat on campus, for the price and the quality. -

One of the only places around USC with REAL high-quality low-cost YUMMY food.
My favorite is the the chorizo breakfast burrito (which has potatoes, cheese, chorizo and egg). And their home made hot sauce is the BEST in town. A close second is the bacon breakfast burrito.
On Tuesday's they have Albondigas (meatball soup) that kicks my ass.
On Wednesdays they have Pupusa's which KICK's everyone's ass.
I still keep coming back in the mornings for their excellent breakfast. -

Mmm great truck! I got the spicy chicken sandwich because Armando said it was the most popular item. The sandwich was great!! The portion was very generous and came with thick avocado slices inside. The sandwich was 5 dollars and was worth the money.

Oh, Armando's. How I love thee. Let me count the ways.
1. First and foremost, Armando is the man. I've been frequenting his lunch truck at least once a week for the past two years and since day one he's always been extremely friendly, always has time for small talk, and will unfailingly refer to me as "buddy" or "my friend" at least a few times throughout our interaction. Plain and simple, if you don't think Armando is one of the friendliest faces on campus, you suck. Period.
2. I may be wrong, but I'm almost completely sure that there is no item on the menu more than five dollars. Bring a five dollar bill and you're bound to get a good meal and probably some quarters back as well.
2. The USC Chicken Sandwich - My first love. I don't know what it is about it, but the marinated chicken, chopped lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions (I always get extra) and mayonnaise all come together in my all-time favorite item.
3. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich - A close second behind the USC Chicken Sandwich for my favorite item from Armando's.
4. The Carne Asada Burrito - Sure, it's not the most delicious, most filling, or best quality, but it's damn tasty and an absolute steal for the price.
5. The Combo Breakfast Burrito. BACON. HAM. SAUSAGE. All in one burrito, plus egg, cheese and the best breakfast diced potatoes on campus. I hope I had you at BACON.
6. I've also tried a few other items on the menu, and all of them have been delicious. I don't think I've ever had a bad Armando's experience.
7. The Secret Armando's Hot Sauce (Picante Salsa) - According to Armando, his wife makes the sauce every day. It is absolutely delicious, and I usually pour globs of it on each bite I take. I asked him once if I could purchase a tub of it to take home with me, but he said that since most of the ingredients are fresh and there are no preservatives that it wouldn't last more than a couple days. I definitely got teary-eyed when he told me that.
School started yesterday, and I've already been to Armando's twice (yesterday and today for lunch). Clearly I'm obsessed. But with good reason...

chicken quesadilla
grilled cheese
pancakes (only on fridays)

If you are on USC's main campus then you must eat here!
As any Trojan knows, USC offers some of the worst food and vendors to its students. The vendors and restaurants are over-priced because USC knows that students really have no where else to go. The food is allowed to be gross, since there is no real competition for customers.
Armando's is a breath of fresh air on campus.
Not only is the food very inexpensive, it is delightful! Anything that you order on the expansive menu will satisfy.
My favorites:
Grilled cheese grande (Grilled cheese with two types of cheese, avocado, bacon, and tomato)
Breakfast burritos (the ham ones with sour cream are good, as are sausage. Don't forget the salsa)
California Burger (Burger with a million things)
Summer burrito (Grilled chicken, Ranch, lettuce, tomato)
Fish tacos/sandwich/plate (Only on special days, get it before it's sold out)
Spicy Chicken sandwich (So spicy and so good)
Malibu Chicken sandwich

I have nothing but love for Armando, his wife and their beautiful truck. (Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you've seen the truck, then you know what I mean ;o)
Sometimes if the breeze is blowing just right across campus, I can smell the truck as I walk to my office in the morning. I am magnetically attreacted to it . . . drawn in the direction of the intoxicating smell of bacon, sausage, eggs and potatoes . . . . Must . . . Resist . . !
Alas, I can't allow myself to eat at Armando's truck as often as I would like. My pants are already way to tight.
Everything I've tried has been really good. We're not talking michelin rated gourmet here - it is simple straight ahead food, made well and with love. An extra bonus is that the prices are the lowest on campus.
If you're ever on the USC campus, be sure to visit Armando's truck! -

2.5, but I'll up to 3, because Armando's awesome. This truck must be a gold mine. It doesn't have the perfection of many LA area taco trucks, but then again, it doesn't have to...it's USC, and I doubt that the masses there are going on taco truck hunts, no offense. No lengua or cabeza here, but you'll find carne asada, chicken, steak picado, and I think they have al pastor, too, either that or carnitas.
The asada is gristly. I'm sad to say it, too, but seeing as it's still an asada taco, with cilantro and onions, I still eat them. The steak picado is good, though, and it's not terribly oily.
Burgers and turkey burgers here are good. I've yet to try the breakfast food, but I will. -

$3.75 for a bacon, egg & cheese (has potatoes too if you want them) breakfast burrito = cheap & SUPER DELICIOUS. So flavorful & even more so with the smoky salsa. It can't be good for you but at least it doesn't taste disgustingly greasy & it's a good size that you won't feel like vomiting after eating the entire thing (I ate the entire thing, I just couldn't stop it was so good!) It's just enough to leave you full but wanting more *yum* $0.50 fee for credit/debit card purchases under $7

ARMANDO'S!!
I would always get lunch here with my friends after our 10 a.m. Principles of Exercise and Nutrition class. My friend always gets 2 carne asada tacos. Cheap and delicious. The tacos have meat, lettuce, an avocado slice, onions and cilantro on it.
I love getting the spicy chicken sandwich. But sometimes the chicken can be dry, so hit and miss. And then get burritos. Breakfast burritos are amazing and you can basically get whatever you want in it.
It gets SUPER BUSY during the lunch hours, so be prepared to wait. The chicken sandwich also takes a little bit longer too. But yeah. Fo'sho. ARMANDOS. Plus you can almost always catch a football player or two picking up their order.... -

As a student at USC, the discovery of the taco truck on campus was amazing. I attended school here from 1999 to 2004 (yes, the 5-year plan!) and spent most of my freshman meal plan at Jamba Juice, the salad bar they had at Cafe '84, Wetzel's Pretzels, and the Betty Crocker Kitchen.
One day, as I was going to my awful 8:00AM class earlier than usual, I realized there was a lunch truck hidden away near the facilities lot. There was a modest crowd waiting around, and I decided to stop and get a bite to eat. That breakfast burrito opened my eyes to a whole new campus food experience.
I tried many other things on the menu, but the breakfast burrito is the unchallenged favorite. You can pretty much order it with anything in it. Mmmm. Baaaaaaaaaaconnnnnnn. -

A true gem in an alley at USC, Armando's provides some awesome dishes for a great deal.
I usually go there and get heir $5 burger which comprises of two patties, lettuce, tomatos, avocado, bacon and cheese... for $5 bucks! I hear their burritos are good too. Once in a while I will get their pupusas which are like salty pancakes with meat inside paired with some pinto beans and fermented cabbage.
Business seems to be doing great, beat the wait by going a little before or after lunch or you can just call to and they'll take you order.
I will definitely be back.
