Review from Greg N.
Royal Oak, MI
I didn't even think to look up the place I just moved into, but it was listed as a close-by business(obviously!, lol) So why not review it! I live in a townhouse(I'm guessing Heidi lived in an apartment) which are far bigger, and I think overall a lot more convenient. It's just my roommate and I in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, and we got in on a deal for 699 per month, which is right in our(and probably most 22-30 year olds) price range. It's the 2 bedroom and bathroom upstairs, living room, dining room and kitchen main level, and then we have a pretty generous basement. It also has hookups for W/D which we had to purchase separate, but craigslist always has deals on that sort of thing. So we've been here about three weeks, and I couldn't say more good things about it. The location is brilliant, the neighbors seem friendly, and the staff seem nice as well. I will agree with Heidi that Evergreen dr. does get a bit congested, especially with the weather getting nice, but it hasn't been too bad. Also, there are more kids here than I expected, but there are schools nearby, so I guess that makes sense. Overall, I've loved living here. I would say if you are looking for an affordable townhouse in a great location, this is the place.

Review from Heidi R.
San Diego, CA
If you're looking for an affordable apartment in Royal Oak, this is a pretty good place. It definitely has it's flaws as will any apartment complex. The one thing that frustrated me the most was the shared washer and dryer. The washer would often steal your quarters or stop mid wash and sometimes you could put some more money in it for it to continue, but more than likely you had to wait for maintenance. Which I do have to say were always prompt. The freaking dryer is a money maker for them. It never dried my clothes completely and I would have spend 3 times the amount it should have cost every freaking time. Not only was it costly, but that's 2 extra hours lost every time I attempted to dry my clothes, not to mention having to get rolls of quarters more often. It was a huge hassle and I had complained so many times about it and it never got fixed the 4.5 years that I lived here.
If you have kids, you'll probably enjoy living here as they run around and scream in your front and back windows every day. I actually do like kids, just not the ones at this complex. There was one kid in particular who was a spoiled rotten brat and his horrible father sat on his porch across from ours with a guitar plugged into an amplifier and showed us why he's not a rock star. It was horrible and he would do it for a couple of hours. It would've been nice to have our windows open more often in the summer. Ugh...some people should never have kids.
Hopefully not every apartment in the complex does not have the misfortune of having rude and disrespectful people living across from them. We actually had awesome neighbors above and next to us. One bad apple ruins it for everyone unfortunately. Sorry for the rant.
-Gordon Management was great.
-Gail was nice. She never answered the phone, but it was probably because of people like me who had to complain constantly about the washer/dryer. Can't say I blame her. :-)
-The layout allows for a nice cross breeze in the living and dining room.
-Affordable
-You can ride your bike to downtown Royal Oak in about 15 minutes.
-There's a nice and huge park right next to the complex. Just watch out for little league games. The parents have nowhere to park and block up Evergreen Dr. I had a couple of close calls trying to leave the apartment's parking lot during these times because they block your view of oncoming cars. You just have to creep out slowly and hope for the best.
All in all, this place worked for us at the time.
